I had been looking for a good hair stylist for about 3 years without much luck. I finally decided to try Nico Bella about 2 years ago. The stylists here are incredible. Jolena is my regular stylist and she has done color, cuts and Brazilian blow outs on my hair. She is meticulous, patient, experienced and has a great eye for color. Camas has strict parking rules, Jolena has even popped out to move my car. She has also popped out to pick-up lunch, coffee and cookies to snack on while my hair was processing. When Jolena has been on vacation, Wendee has stepped in to cut and color my hair and she is also amazing! The salon was recently remodeled and looks amazing. If you are looking for a great stylist, comfortable & friendly atmosphere, this is the salon to try. I promise you that you will not be disappointed. Came in a while ago with my mom and was treated like absolute shit. Wendee is a really obnoxious person to talk to in general because she spends the entire time bragging about really weird and random shit, but I was really shocked at how blatantly I was insulted by the staff too. Told me I couldn't go as light as I wanted because my hair was too damaged, and that was fine, I understood when she explained it the first time, and I was just asking a couple questions here and there because I was obviously still wondering how it would turn out, and I was wondering if I could/should change what I was asking for. I guess my couple of questions led Wendee to believe I was an imbecile who was questioning her skill or something, because she immediately became bitchy and started calling over the other employees to prove me wrong when I literally wasn't trying to argue in the first place. Very clearly was going out of her way to try and humiliate me. I just sat there and was told the same thing multiple times, the general tone was like, "HA! yeah right, your hair is WAAYY too damaged for us to do that, you should feel stupid for even suggesting it!" Spent the entire time having an anxiety attack because I genuinely felt bullied in there, just really not a nice environment because of Wendee. My mom also didn't get even remotely what she asked for, but didn't want to deal with it at the time because of how horribly Wendee reacted to the slightest but of criticism. read more

Do Not go to this salon! Wendi was very impatient with me in what I wanted and refused to do what I asked. I just wanted highlights. She ended up bleaching my hair and now it's beyond damaged! I called to see if she could fix it and left a message with the girl that answered and told her she had fried my hair. I am writing this post because I think often people tend to write reviews while they are upset. Positive reviews typically are in person face to face. Confrontation is so easy now with a few clicks of a button. Being a business owner myself, I feel like I need to take the extra time to blast the positive experiences I have had online, so here we go: I have lived all over; New York, Texas, Hawaii, Italy, Pdx, and now back to my hometown in Vancouver, Washington. I have had so many hair dressers, but have only had a few spectacular ones. I've had my hair fall out of my head from damage, like literally a big bald spot! I have had racy colors like fire red tips, to blonde, to purple. I have gone from long and pretty to short boy cut and in-between. Let's just say I like to always look completely different at least once a year - I don't ask for easy requests or "normal" styles. Nico Bella Salon, specifically Wendee the owner... is incredible! She saved my head from going from black to silver/white, after I had made a bad choice in doing it elsewhere in PDX. This will remain unnamed because even though I went bald, I knew it was a difficult job. But seriously I had to comb over the bald spot and I'm younger. (Thank God for beanie season.) After the HELL-ish experience of 3 sessions of 7 hour bleachings, Nico Bella and their troop of excellent stylists, not only fixed my bl-orange color (blonde-orange) Wendee did it in less than 3 hours. What I love the most about Nico Bella, if its not perfect at the first attempt, they fix it at no charge, no arguing with me or making me feel bad, but bring me back, make me feel at home and fix it.... before I even left Wendee had told me come back and we will do a second process because its not where I want it to be. (However it was the most perfect between the three other stylists who tried attaining the color I desired.) So I went back and it was the best! And I have to add, no burned scalp, no bleeding, no breakage, and the more I washed it and it grew out it still looked good. I also don't get charged for the blow drying or the styling at the end, yes some places do that. I have NEVER had so many compliments as I have had when I leave the Salon. Normally I have to work and hardly have free time, but when I go to Nico Bella lately I make sure to get dressed up and go out after because lets be honest, I don't know how to style my hair the way they can. My favorite thing about Nico Bella Salon, is these girls or women all know their stuff. But they don't walk around like DIVAS and make you feel homely or not fashionable. I feel like its a place to go chat and have laughs... while learning cool things about hair and fashion. I love that they don't sit and trash each other, they always have such good team work. Whenever I go they are helping each other out, getting each others clients coffee, finishing blow drying, or helping with my toning. They even bounce me around to each other because of my busy schedule, which is cool because I get to know all the hair dressers and don't feel like there is weird competition which I have noticed in other salons all over the country. And lastly I love going to Nico Bella because Wendee has hooked me up with product to try so that I can see if I like it and she never expects or asks for anything from me... and I love it! I always buy shampoos from Salons, Kerastase was a brand I had used before, but I'm loving all the products Wendee suggests (OLAPLEX will save your hair ladies!) Love them, go to them, and trust them, they will take the best care of your hair and more! read more

This salon is amazing for so many different reasons. I just received the best haircut I've ever had from Wendee, and she knew exactly how to cut my hair in a way that made me feel beautiful walking out the door. I have thin, fine, curly hair that is oftentimes problematic, but Wendee showed me exactly how to style it in a way that is super easy and doable for every day, even when I have zero time to get ready in the mornings. I have been making the drive from Beaverton Oregon every 6 weeks to go to this salon and to see my stylist Wendee Hanlon since it opened its doors! People are shocked when I tell them that I have to drive nearly 2 hours round trip to get my hair done and I say "Hello! Look at my hair." Enough said. The last time I was in, there was a woman there that drove from Albany to see Wendee! That is just the type of loyalty that anyone would have after obtaining a great stylist in their arsenal of professional people. Not unlike your dentist, doctor, tax accountant, or banker you find someone you can trust and you stay true. The salon has a warm inviting feel of positive energy. I walk in the door knowing that my favorite magazines and a cup of coffee (just the way i like it) are awaiting me. What I love most is that I trust my stylist so much that I can tell her to do whatever she wants. She knows me and my lifestyle and she changes it up a little each time i come in. I have gone from dark brunette to a golden blonde over the years- never leaving less than delighted with my fresh look. The color is fantastic and I always get complemented on my hair. Nico Bella salon came recommended by a hair stylist I did trust so I checked them out on Instagram. And they did not disappoint! Come to find out, a hair stylist is been following on Instagram, actually worked there! So I booked my appointment with Jessica Z. She was super friendly and had a new stylist shadowing her. She listened to what I had to say, looked at photos, and communicated very clearly back and forth about what I wanted. Pictures are so good to have! Especially when trying to describe the color blonde you want. Then next she reviewed pricing with me!? No stylist has ever done that for me. As someone who considers a trip the salon a small fortune, I really appreciated that. She was very knowledgeable in the products she was using, and explained things very well, I felt like I could trust her to know what she was doing. I got a full highlight textured cut and style. And I have never been happier with my hair! I have received so many compliments. I have already booked my next appointment LOL so if you are looking for a new salon... This is it! I am the most picky person I know when it comes to hair and Nico Bella has exceeded my expectations every time. As a newcomer to Camas with little more than Yelp reviews to go by (and some Instagram research) I walked in one morning to make an appointment. The gal at the front desk was very friendly and approachable, which is consistent with my experiences I've had each time I'm back at the salon. They were able to fit me in the very same day due to a last minute cancellation and I was totally thrilled. I've been going to Nico Bella for about 5 months now. Wendee does amazing work and is a true artist, she has worked with me to achieve the look I've been wanting for years and now I finally have the hair I've always wanted. More importantly, since I'm growing my hair out Wendee has educated me on how to maintain my look after I leave the salon, and also how to keep it healthy. I've tried suggestions from others before and they never worked, but I take Wendee's advice and am happily surprised each time my hair looks better and better once I do what she says. The entire team is very informed on the latest trends, styles, products and techniques. They are reasonably priced and you definitely get what you pay for (and much more). I am really looking forward to my next visit, we always have a good time while they make me look good in the process. I also had a pedicure at the salon and that also turned out awesome. I did shellac polish on my toes and a longer spa treatment at the end, and I left felling pampered and relaxed. 7-1/2 weeks ago Wendee hacked my hair and I'm still in shock, though I did go in the day after and got a full refund. After years of wearing my hair very short I told Wendee I wanted just a slight trim to allow my hair to grow out into a softer, more feminine style. She seemed to understand and she said we'd keep it short in back and allow the top to grow out. Instead she wacked the back far shorter than I've ever had it cut, at least 1-1/2 inches above my natural hairline! and she gouged a hole in my hair as big as a half dollar at the nape of my neck. I've had to fill in that hole with eyebrow powder for 7-1/2 weeks! After my horrible cut, my husband asked if I'd jerked and she gouged me?! and my daughter asked if Wendee had hated me or something! When I asked Wendee she said "that was just the way my hair grew." Even if that were true, if she were a competent stylist she' wouldn't have cut my hair 'way above my natural hairline! Wendee also proved how very unprofessional she is by taking time away from my haircut to buy a handbag from a woman who wandered into the salon from the street hawking an armload of stolen bags, some with the tags from stores still on them. I sat waiting for her to resume my haircut, realizing that my time meant nothing to her. She'd also asked me to come in a half hour before my scheduled appointment which I scrambled to do, and then I had sat there waiting for her for 10 minutes because she wasn't even in the shop when I arrived exactly when she'd asked me to come in early! read more

I LOVE this Salon! My colorist and stylist, Jolena, is truly amazing and talented! She is always perfect with my color and only cuts my hair to my specifications--unless I ask for something new--and then I can trust her to consistently give me flattering and current hair styles. Last year I moved to Camas from NY and was need of a new stylist. I thought Id give Nico Bella a try since the location is very convenient. I was able to get into the salon for an appointment within couple days, and had my appointment with the owner Wendee. I told her that I was looking for a natural looking highlight and low light. She bashed the look of my hair and openly shared her negative opinion on the skills of my former stylist in NY. I had been going to that stylist for years and cant tell you how many compliments I had received on my hair during that time. I told her all about my hair and how quickly it lifts and the colors my former stylist used. She took before pictures of my hair, then turned the chair away from the mirror and did my color. She was very cocky talking about her experience and how people travel from all over to have her do their hair. When it was finished, I complained that my hair looked orange in places. She told me to think about it and give her call the next day. after examining it further when I got home, there were large splotches bleached underneath. I texted her pictures immediately. She kind of tried to deny that it was from her work even though I just left her salon! She asked me to come back the next morning because she guarantees her work, but the same thing happened! After that I asked for my money back and she refused. She wanted me to come in and give her a third chance! I refused and asked for another stylist. The other stylist was able to fix my hair, she did a nice job. I certainly wont be back and would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I came to Nico Bella last weekend for Manicures/Pedicures for my friends' bridal party the day before her wedding. There were three of us having our nails done and not one of us left satisfied with the quality. I walked out... not making a fuss because I was dying to leave... with a manicure that could have been done better by a 5-year old. The polish was WAY too thick, the top coat covered only the center of my nails and many of my nails hadn't even been coated fully with polish. It was a messy job that I removed right away. I will say though, that what the ladies lacked in skill, they made up for in kindness. They were very sweet but I would never return here for nails. I did see the owner doing some amazing looking haircuts... I get the sense that they do hair very well... and forgot to take the time to do professional nail training! read more

She was able to get me in at the last minute and it was a treat to have such a relaxing experience. I love Nico Bella Salon!! They are absoloutely the best salon I've found in the area (and I've tried a few!). I have curly hair and it is often very difficult to get a stylist who can layer it and give a good cut that flatters my face (and avoids pyramid head!). I've used 2 different stylists/colorists (Dolly and Wendee) there and have gotten a manicure there all of which have been fantastic. They are professional, friendly, and the best cut and color of my life! You can't find a better salon!
