My mother-in-law went to place her order, and my father-in-law simply tried to help clarify it. The women working the counter was unbelievably and inappropriately rude to him. She spoke to him as if he were a child interrupting her. I was shocked, and at first thought she was joking. The five of us left without ice cream. Such a shame. I understand you're busy serving many families, but under no circumstances should staff be rude to customers. I'll also note this wasn't one of the young kids working. It was an adult who should have known better. I'd recommend going to the Bemus Point market instead, where the owner is always warm and welcoming to customers, as is the rest of the staff.

You order at right window, pay and then pick up your treats at the left window. There are a couple of picnic tables and some benches to enjoy and watch the lake. We stopped by for some ice cream. The portions were generous, the prices reasonable and the ambiance casual. I got a cup with Brownie Batter and Salty Caramel Truffle ice creams. The ice cream was great, sweet and rich, plenty of flavor. I especially liked that the hard ice cream was served at the perfect temperature, soft but not fully melted so that it has a great mouth feel. Based on the flavors offered and the quality of the ice cream, I would guess that Barney's is serving Hershey's Ice Cream. A nice little quirky place to grab a sweet treat.
