Or, if it was the groom's cousin's girlfriend's sister who agreed to take pictures for free? Have you ever looked at someone's wedding photos and thought-- "Man, they're going to regret that choice!"? Well, maybe I am a jerk, but I have had all of these thoughts before and I knew that I did not want any of the above for our wedding. Instead, I wanted to invest in photographers who were experienced, professional, creative and utilizing top notch equipment. Enter Ayres Photogrphy. I'm not sure how I came across their work, but once I found their blog, I knew that I wanted them to shoot our wedding. With each blog post, I saw a story. Their pictures allowed me to understand the story of the couple, their love, and their wedding day. I immediately contacted Jenn and Ben Ayres to set up an appointment. After being welcomed into their home, seeing more of their work, and talking to this warm husband and wife team, I felt no reason to contact any other photographers. Their creative photo-journalistic style was exactly what we were looking for... and, as an added bonus, they really could not have been any nicer! After making the decision to work with them, we scheduled engagement photos. While older generations might not understand the need for this (I can still hear my mom questioning the necessity), I cannot recommend doing an engagement session enough. Most importantly, our photos came out beautifully and really capture a special time in our lives. Beyond that, the engagement session helped us get to know Jenn and Ben better and also allow us to become more comfortable in front of the camera which was quite valuable for our wedding day! They were patient, fun and open to any ideas that we wanted to try out. After being so pleased with the engagement shots, we couldn't wait to see what our wedding photos might be like. However, little did we know that we would be getting married in the midst of the November Storm! Because Jenn and Ben live in one of the areas that got hit the hardest (oh and did I mention she was 8 months pregnant?!!), they had every reason to bail on our wedding. Yet, they amazingly dug themselves out, broke travel bans, and drove many hours to get to us in time! When Jenn promised that they'd be there NO MATTER WHAT when we signed the contract, she truly meant it... and words can't express what that meant to us. Even after crazy weather and several hours of travel, they still managed to capture our day from beginning to end perfectly. We have the most beautifully composed, skillfully captured, detailed, funny, touching, personal photos from our day. Jenn and Ben went above and beyond for us and it made every penny spent on them absolutely worth it. 5 stars and beyond!

I came across Expressions Studios and their photography + Videography package was too good to pass up on. Not only did it include a full wedding day coverage, but because we were getting married at Avanti Mansion, we also got an engagement photography session. After a couple of phone calls with them, we decided to choose them for our wedding. We had Paul, Alexandra (photographer), and Aaron (videographer) work on our wedding. For our engagement photoshoot in a garden, Alexandra was able to guide us through poses that made it look natural and also allowed us to do our own thing to make our personalities shine through the photos. She also has a great eye for finding good angles and backgrounds. We were so happy with the photos and couldn't wait for the wedding day. Leading up to the wedding day, we had a phone call to discuss the important shots and moments we want highlighted. For our wedding day, both Alexandra and Aaron captured the best moments of the day. They were able to move around so quickly and get all the angles, but we barely noticed them. We got our photos about a month after our wedding. They gave us ALL 1000+ photos they took with color enhancements (sepia, black&white, or color). It took awhile to go thru and choose photos where everyone's eyes are open - but I personally preferred it this way and being able to choose my own photos I want to keep. We got our 12 min video and 1 min highlight video at the same time around 1.5 months after the wedding - I was hoping to get the 1 min trailer sooner after the wedding to relive the day, but the 12 min version was definitely worth the wait.

My baby brother just got married…read more crazy. I am so thankful that Neal was the one to photograph this momentous occasion for my brother and his wife. Neal was professional, personable, and he knew exactly what he wanted. Having been in a weekend two weeks before my brothers, Neal's photography skills shined as his experience and talent radiated while he worked. He positioned us, told us how to stand, how to smile and what he was going for. He allowed us to ask for picture positions that we wanted and he made the photo shoot fly by. The bridal party was put to ease as we knew that he was taking care of all the pictures. He was everywhere we wanted him to be during the rehearsal, the photo shoot and the reception. He got formal pictures and candid pictures. Even better, he gave my brother ALL of the pictures he took on DVDs so the happy couple could pick the pictures they wanted to print and put on picture websites. He also made them a picture book. Being able to watch hours of footage of my parents and myself as a little girl again is something I'll always be grateful for. One of my tapes was actually damaged, and instead of just telling me it couldn't be done, the owner went out of his way to have someone else repair it. Even with that extra step, everything was still ready within 24 hours, and he didn't charge me anything extra for it. That level of care and honesty is rare. The owner is incredibly kind, and the whole place has such a warm, welcoming feel. There's even a sweet dog that greets you when you walk in, which just adds to how friendly and comfortable the environment is. Over the past few weeks, I was working with Show Memories to convert 77 of my old VHS Tapes to…read moreDigital. I went to see John, the Manager, to discuss all my concerns. He and his son were very reassuring that, based on their 40 years of experience, they'd be able to handle the conversion in any media format I need, including flash drives or transmissions. In addition to a "very good" price, including the fact that I didn't have to pay for shipping to and from a more expensive processor, I gave John one of the tapes as a trial to test a capability where they upload the digital version to a Google Drive, where I can simply move it to my drive (or computer) for access. All I can say is WOW! It worked perfectly and dramatically sped up the entire process for distribution of those precious memories to my entire family. I immediately brought in the rest of the tapes, where Show Memories numbered each VHS tape to link it to a Google version, and 2 days later, they were all available for my use on Google Drive! When they were done, I made payment and picked up my original VHS tapes. I then sent the Google Drive link to my Grandson in Florida, who is editing out blank spots and timestamping the various segments. The other great feature is that once it's on Google, I can easily view these memories on my smart TV, either directly or by connecting my laptop. To say I pleased is an understatement. The quality, cost, and speed of conversion were simply amazing! Based on my experience and results, I would highly recommend Show Memories as a preferred servicer.
