In search of a local barber, I found Nico's barbershop and thought I would give it a shot. I've tried booking an appointment for three days in a row with no success. The first day, "oh no, we're very busy, you need to book a day in advance." The second day, "normally we would but one of our barbers is out.". The third day, the individual on chat says, "we should have plenty of openings." So, I call and the girl says, "were very busy on Fridays and Saturdays, you need to book in advance." Whatever, all I wanted was a haircut and beard trim. I would NOT recommend Nico's. Don't waste your time, go to Sports Clips - even though they do a chop job, at least you can book an appointment and keep it. read more

This is the best barber shop in the valley in my opinion, I have been getting my haircuts here since they've opened. I only book appointments with Alberto better known as barberto, but the whole staff is excellent. Everyone that works there knows me by name and treat me like their own regular. I would not go anywhere else, the price is perfect and comparable to other shops who do not give you have the experience, modern day vibe. I am a fan of Nico's barbershop, Alberto, and the staff. I will continue going here until they can no longer cut my hair or beard. Side note addressing everyone who made a bad complaint about scheduling. They do book out fast, but that's because they're a great shop and have great barbers. Be an adult and schedule in advance. Do not take it out on them or try leaving bad reviews because they booked out. Yes, it is an inconvenience but plan accordingly and expect them to be booked out because they're good. You wouldn't get to the airport at 1pm when your flight leaves at 1pm. read more

Nico's is THE BEST. Their motto is "Look Good, Do Good" and boy do they stand by that. Their online appointment system is easy to use. They do not overbook. They have quick appointment availability, which is comforting considering all of the barbers perform quality cuts. They run on time 100% of the time, a benefit to customers of all ages. Let's not even get into their great selection of product and cute merchandise. :) Typically we see Tony. He is so sweet and takes his time without taking too much time. When we needed an appointment last minute, he wasn't available that day so we took the first available. Even though it was her first time doing my son's hair, Ragan was so patient with my son, never once seeming to be caught off guard by his three-year-old and after school energy. To her it may be just another toddler cut, but to me it appreciated because it was EXACTLY what we had in mind for his new style. On this same day, I forgot my wallet at home. I called in advance when I was on my way and realized I had left it at home. Alyssa was so sweet, told me not to worry about it and to come in and not have to miss the appointment. Of course I drove back and paid for the haircut, but that example is just proof that they really do take their "Look Good, Do Good" motto seriously. For me, that day didn't need another thing to go awry and although it could have, Nico's staff didn't let it. If you want quality EVERYTHING, this is the place to go. read more

There is a new business in town,and its a winner. A second location Nico's Barbershop just opened on Greenfield & Brown Rd. in Mesa. I strongly support new business within our community so stopping by was a no brainer. My hair cut is fantastic (thanks Terry). The barbers and staff are very friendly. But........ when I found out the owner is a supporter of feeding our babies I had to give them 5 stars. This barbershop is such an awesome place! Today I was looking at trying a new barbershop and I saw Nico's on Yelp. I figured maybe I'll try it, there's not a lot to lose. I walked in at 9:00, when they open. Jen and I talked for a bit, she was really friendly and helpful. She pays attention to the small details and it makes for a great haircut! She actually knows how to work with my hair and understood how I liked it. The barbershop itself was such a nice place. The decorations made it a really cool environment and the other barber as well as the owners were pretty friendly. Jen recommended some hair gel that actually fit what style I was trying to get with my hair. The haircut price is well worth it for the quality and the shop itself is probably the best I've been to in AZ so far. read more

The best barber shop in town. There is just a great vibe about this place. All the barbers are super friendly, and skilled. I've had my best haircuts, and beard trims at this place. Sent my husband here for a Christmas Eve hair cut, when we were visiting from out of town. He was disappointed that they didn't give him the exact haircut he had asked for but it was still a good haircut.
