I tried a new (new to me I mean) Bucks county cheesesteak and I loved it!! If you haven't been in to Nico's yet in New Britain, you're cheating yourself. Ribeye with no gristle, a good amount of cooper sharp (not insane amounts to where it tastes like just cheese but nowhere near dry), small dice onions, and a toasted Liscio's seeded roll. Also had a fantastic chicken cutlet sandwich called "the limoncello". This had burrata and an olive oil infused with lemon plus lemon zest. This was such a refreshing blend of flavors, just a really bright pop that I wasn't expecting! This may have been even better than the cheesesteak. The wings I got made perfect sense for a pizza spot too. Picture crispy wings tossed in mild and bleu cheese then hit with fried cup and char pepperoni and hot honey. These were so unique, and I love trying new things. I'd get these again for sure! Yeah...you'll want to find out for yourself on this one. read more

Called in an order for a large half meatball pie, it was easy and fast, showed up the time I was told and the pizza was ready and pipping hot. Got home and opened it....that's when the disappointment started. Of the 4 slice that were supposed have meat ball, 2 were fully covered, and 2 were only partially covered. I have been hearing a lot of great things about Nico's and it has been a long time since I have been here. We had a slice of their new " broadway " square crust pizza and it was fantastic. It was crispy, light and airy and the best square crust I can remember in the area. I will definitely be back for the square broadway pizza soon ! The staff were really friendly and it is very clean and a nice shopping center place. They gave good specials that include fries and a drink which is nice . The cheesesteak was good , nothing to drive a distance for but if you're in the area it's a solid option. They use a low grade liscios seeded roll , you can get this at giant now. It's too soft and no crunchy crust so it wasn't anything like a south Philly roll. I loved the sauce and the special was loaded with onions , green peppers and mushrooms... it was good. If this place was closer to me I would definitely try more options but I literally drive past 6 pizza places in 4 miles on the way to Nico's. read more

Nico's has become my go-to place: consistent high-quality meals at a reasonable price. My favorite chicken cheesesteak with lettuce is always moist, full of meat on a proper roll. Wife's fave is grilled chicken Caesar salad- lettuce is fresh and crisp. They are frequently very busy during weekday dinner rush but crank out great food while remaining friendly. I came here last night to get a cheesesteak as I got this place recommended. They have a discount for the nearby college in town, which I told them about and she said it would be a $5 cheesesteak, the regular one being $13.99. I then ordered the $5 one and a side of mozz sticks (which I was craving heavily). The front desk girl, printed the wrong order twice, even after verbally saying my order back to me. I then came back in to grab my food, which was just a fully priced huge sub. The girl then denied me ever saying I wanted the $5 one, and I missed out on my mozz sticks. I was super super upset because not only did she upcharge me, she made a mistake and tried to gaslight me into thinking I never said it. The worker next to her watched the whole ordeal and did not even offer any compensation/sympathy or a future coupon to "make it right". I also got snarky comments and loud passive aggressive sighs, while other patrons were talked to like they were royalty. The sandwich tasted okay, but does food ever taste good when you're super upset and get upsold on something? I will not be going back. Choose another place for good service that won't gaslight you, even when THEY make the mistake. Food isn't cheap nowadays, spend your money where your money is actually wanted. read more

This is our go to place for everything, wings, pizza, baked ziti. Their service is also fantastic, the other day they forgot to put in the order of garlic knots ( which are amazing ) anyway I realized it when I got home. 18jul2024 I had two Sicilian slices and an unsweetened ice tea 16oz. Food was good. Along with the counter service. However, my pet peeve is the 3% surcharge for using a credit card. First time in years since we ordered but local food pantry was having a dine and donate event. Ordered a thin crust margherita pizza and small Stromboli. Pizza crust was thin and somewhat tasty. Sauce was watery. Tomatoes were too large and heavy. Basil looked old and cheese had no flavor. Stromboli was bland and not sure how come it was dry. Chicken hard to find but lots of spinach. Peppers had a funny taste. $33 for order If it wasn't raining so hard tonight or the fact it was a dine and donate I would have taken food back. Specials, Specials, Specials....I don't know how they make any money! I'm from NYC and their pizza is just as good as my hometown...except almost half the price! My favorite is the eggplant parmigiana but Nico's offers everything from BBQ chicken wings, cheese steaks and even salads (13 different ones all under $10 if you want to get healthy). But I digress, the REAL reason everyone goes to Nico's is his classic Italian dishes made with the finest ingredients and attention to detail as everything is freshly made to order and you can taste it. They have about 10-12 tables for dining in and some large tables for families. This is more then a pizza place. Don't get me wrong it has the best pizza around plus you can ask for thin crust (my favorite} or anything else and they will go the extra mile to get it done. The food looked and smelled wonderful. And, it certainly was a big portion. However, it tasted only decent. It wasn't something I'd order again. I ordered the lobster ravioli. and it took forever to prepare. Which is odd, because they told me they don't make the ravioli in house. The lobster was pureed. And, honestly the filling tasted fishy. The sauce was the best part... in all honesty. I brought it home because my dad will eat anything. I made the recommendation that I'd pay $15-$18 for ravioli that had chunks of lobster in it. That's when I found out they don't make the stuff in house. The next time I do Nico's, I'll stick with the pizza. Their staff is nice and professional. read more
