He did all the demolition, including the kitchen tile, and leveled/prepared the subfloor very thoroughly, and left everything clean. He went above and beyond with sealing off some parts of the concrete due to moisture as well as laid out moisture barrier over the entire floor. He would stay in contact with me throughout the project and would go the extra mile often, usually not adding anything to the price but when he had to it was more than fair. They had to replace all of the LVP due to warping, which I was pleasantly surprised they offered to do at no charge. Still had install issues (someone forgot to take out an old screw from the concrete and it was causing warping also) but they fixed that as well. Some problems but they took care of everything, which I'd normally give a 4 star review for however, I'm subtracting a star due to their terrible and very poorly managed scheduling department. This is how scheduling works: You call in to make an appointment, it's always voicemail. 100% of the time no matter what. A message that says "we're very busy" plays. They call you back the same day if you call before 1pm and the next day if after 1pm (though this is not always followed). If you miss their return call, which most people due because we're all adults and have jobs, they leave you a voicemail and then you have to do that over and over and over and over again until you happen to be sitting by your phone with the ringer turned on when they call. This is the dumbest system I've ever encountered and there is no possible way a flooring company could always be so busy that they can NEVER answer the phone. I mean, I can even get through to DMV before this place. It's very frustrating especially when you've already paid for a service. Four stars for install and repair. Two stars for scheduling. Three overall.

When the contractor (Blake Renovations) bid the job, he gave an estimate of 3-4 weeks. After 21…read moreweeks, he still wasn't done and so our design consultant stepped in and finished the job for us. When the project started, we were very pleased with the workmanship, but as the project dragged on, there were many examples of sloppy work combined with attempts to convince us that it was good enough. For example, there was a dip in the shower floor which wouldn't drain. The contractor's solution was for us to use a foot to push the water toward the drain. Another shower issue was the setting of the rectangular drain wasn't aligned with the adjacent shower wall (blamed on our house not being square -- see the attached picture). Both issues were finally solved when our design consultant stepped in and got him to fix the problems. The lip of the shower edge was sloped slightly outward ... this we didn't discover until actually using the shower and we'll have to live with that by using a squeegee to clear the standing water. There was sloppy wall texturing at the edge of the baseboard, and many small examples of inattention to painting detail, all of which had to be corrected at the end of the project. The shower control valve was installed in a way that provided only hot water due to binding between components. The circuit breaker controlling the exhaust fan and other features wasn't turned on and, as such, none of the related wiring could have been tested ... thankfully all worked when I restored the power. A minor annoyance ... 3 dimmer switches were installed ... all three were different. Schedule communication was atrocious ... he'd tell us he would be at our house at 8:45 and not show up until much later and sometimes not at all. One time, he asked if he could come over the weekend to do a specific task and so we stayed home all weekend waiting. Finally, on Sunday afternoon, we texted him asking when he was coming ... oops ... there was a family activity he'd forgotten about.. Project communication was difficult as well ... he would attempt to explain some question or issue to my wife using unfamiliar terms while turned away from her, ignoring her frequent request to accommodate her slight hearing difficulty by facing her and using common English. Wanting this to be done with, we made the mistake of not holding back a portion of the final payment which ended up with him not returning to clean up the last issues, including improper installation of the shower valve and sloppy painting. Our design consultant cleaned up the painting herself and via a video call with the valve manufacturer, also dealt with the valve problem.
