Night Owl Cookies is officially on my late-night dessert radar. I ordered a couple cookies recently--the Not-So-Chocolate Chocolate Chip and the Cookies & Cream--and was genuinely impressed. The chocolate chocolate chip cookie was very chocolatey, but in a good way: rich, indulgent, and not overly sweet. Exactly what a cookie should be when you're ordering after hours. The Cookies & Cream deserves a special shout-out. I've had their Oreo cookie before, and while that one's good, the Cookies & Cream version is better--more balanced and more satisfying overall. Price-wise, cookies are around $5 each, which is pretty standard these days, even if it feels a little steep once delivery and fees are added. That said, this was a splurge night, and I didn't regret it. It doesn't quite knock Fireman Derek's Bake Shop out of my personal top spot--but it comes close. The cookie was alright. Crumbl and Cry Baby have better cookies (especially Cry Baby for their seasonal Smores cookie). The marshmallow was delicious, but the cookie itself wasn't good. I'm no longer a night owl so I was glad they were open during the day. Came by to check them out, heard some things about them. It's in a strip mall, not too far from FIU. No one was in there when we came by in the afternoon, but they still had a good amount of selections to choose from. We decided to get 3 cookies: -Ave Maria -Dirty Diana (for obvious reasons) -Dark Chocolate S'mores All were just ok in my book, not as moist or gooey as I hoped it would be. Wish Diana was a little dirtier for my wheelhouse. They have innovative flavors so it was worth checking out. They do warm it up for you though. Nice packaging with cool logo and hip decor inside. I can see this place being quite IG'able. There's a handful of tables inside to sit or you can take it to the house like we did and eat it on the couch. Staff was friendly with nice pleasantries, chatted about some recommendations etc. Forgot the price but I think it was around $4 bucks a cookie. My daughter-in-law had been telling me about this business in Miami that she preferred over another of its kind which has become popular in Broward County. One bite and I realized why! We ordered three cookies at 10ish and they were delivered about a half hour later. We shared bites of their Brookie, Cookies & Cream, and Chocolate S'mores. Each creamy bite was better than the first and I just couldn't get enough! What I loved best was that they weren't so sweet. I have eaten at the actual bakery, which has a very cute ambiance and seating! I feel happy when I'm in the bakery. The order came exactly when we're were told it would arrive, and the delivery fee was about $5 on their website. We ordered almost every cookie with 13 selections. We split those cookies between 4 ppl, and it was way too much, but we all brought some home to our families! Yummmmmm!! This is my second time going to Night Owl but this time in a different location. The cookies are absolutely delicious. I think the branding is on point but I feel like the shops are all missing something to elevate the experience to meet the expectation of such a loved brand. This location is clean but it seems very boring when you walk in and it's the second time that I feel like the employees are just not enthusiastic about selling cookies. Maybe they should hire former Girl Scouts because if the employees were more enthusiastic it would certainly elevate the customer experience. Regardless, the cookies are absolutely delicious and very different. The quality and taste of the cookies from my last two visits exceeded my expectations. Night Owl has a great variety of cookie options and the staff is always nice and helpful, ready to answer your questions and give recommendation on selection. Depending on when you go this location may have tricky parking but trust me it's worth it. The store itself can get packed (high demand = high traffic) but I've never felt like it was too crammed in there. There is usually good music playing overhead so the wait is never too bad. Once you get to the front though, be ready for one of the best cookies you've had! My personal favorite is the Red Velvet. Like the name states Night Owl is open late to service those late night cravings. Store hours are 7 days a week 11am-2am. Do yourself a favor and stop in soon! read more
