And the day of the event, DJ Mike showed up an hour early and began set-up. He helped get the party going by playing music while we prepared for guests. During the gathering, DJMike kept an eye on the crowd and played songs to keep up the momentum. When we had raffles, DJMike would play a drumroll or the "Jeopardy" theme. So fun! The music was never too loud nor too soft. DJ Mike modulated the volume or stopped all together whenever a speaker had the mike. Professional. DJ Mike stayed an hour after the event, loading his equipment. A friend and I are already hiring him for another event slated for early April - - a 100th birthday celebration! My husband brought me here to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. He knows I love watching…read morestand-up comedy and improv. One of my favorite places in Austin, TX was Esther's Follies. This place has a similar live improv show that gets the crowd laughing. Arrive early to find parking. I think we were there at least 30 minutes to an hour before the show, and the lot only had about 3 very tight spots left. Street parking looked limited. If you were forced that route, you'll need time to drive around looking for a spot and then walking your way back to the theater. At least the building parking was free! I'm not sure if the building has an elevator. We climbed stairs to enter it. The ticket booth is just inside to the left at the top of the stairs. A staff and show member greeted us and explained how the show worked, since we were new here. Chairs were lined up in rows, but they have little tables between every two chairs. Great for setting down your drinks and also gives you a more intimate experience if you are there on a date. You can also move your seat around a bit to adjust for long legs or growing girth. The front two rows have red velvet 2-seater lounge couches. These plush luxury seating options look great until you find yourself called on to participate in the performance in some way. Just for the record, sitting further back doesn't guarantee you won't be included in the show in some unexpected way. Audience participation happened in a variety of ways. Before the show, you could write ideas on post it notes and stick them on their idea board. Additionally, you could jot down a phrase on an index card and place it in a fishbowl. These items were regularly exploited during the show requiring the actors to think on their feet. Bartenders can make cocktails and standard mixed drinks. Beer and wine are fast and simple. Surprisingly, they don't do margaritas here because they take too long to make and the line backs up. Eventually they hope to get a frozen margarita machine to make it easier. Food options are severely limited to items you might find at an independent theatre. There is a small container of premade popcorn that honestly isn't very satisfying. We also split some chocolate covered pretzels that appeared to be individually wrapped by a special retailer. I recommend eating prior to coming or at least have a decent healthy snack at home and then go out to eat afterwards. The show was fun! The actors had a lot of different scenarios that kept you entertained. Each sketch only lasted 10-15 minutes. If you were only mildly amused, you didn't have to wait long before they were throwing something new at you. I would definitely come back here and would recommend others check it out for a fun evening of laughs.

We originally got in contact with Larry (the owner of LnS) about 8 months before our actual wedding date. From the very beginning, Larry was extremely professional and very thorough in helping us plan out the music for the night. He walked us through developing the plan including music for the ceremony, first dances, special dances, open dance time, during dinner and for the cake cutting. Larry met with my husband and I in person several times to discuss plans as well as to take a look at our venue location. We kept in frequent communication by email, and I would often have a response from him within a few hours at most. As such, by the time the wedding itself rolled around, we had a well-developed plan in place for the that day. The day of the wedding itself went amazingly. He showed up more than early enough to ensure the DJ equipment and lighting were set up well before my guests started arriving. Throughout the night, Larry and his wife worked as a well-oiled machine to handle pretty much every aspect of the music. Throughout the night, he was able to gauge the mood of the people dancing, and I don't think we had much time at all that the dance floor was unoccupied. We had a few small glitches due to miscommunication on my part with the hotel staff around the timing of the cake cutting, but ultimately, it was handled so well that our guests never knew there was any confusion. I cannot thank LnS Karaoke enough for the fantastic job that was done at our wedding. I certainly intend to use their services again in the future if we ever have a need for them.
