    Ralph Barbosa show

Overall the show itself was good, good lineup of comedians leading to the main event. My only real concern is the place itself. It was a bit difficult to locate when coming through the downstairs parking as there is another location there with the same address 5321. Once there, it was mandatory to order 2 drinks.. it was a packed house waitresses almost tripping over each other and they kept going back and forth which was quite distracting throughout the performances.. I will say the hallway on the way to the seats was pretty nice because it highlighted past comedians history..

The food was what it is, basically bar food it was good but the waitress could have given us more than 1 little cocktail napkin for the nachos, that stuff was messy. The ambiance here is ALWAYS great. I've been going here since around 2005. I'm always trying to take people that have never been. I laugh so hard my cheeks hurt.

A friend had invited me as she had won some free tickets and who doesn't like a good laugh? We arrived and the line was out the door however they were able to move the line quickly and get everyone seated. They club has a required 2 minimum purchase and they automatically add a tip to your tab. On this occasion we were seated in a decent spot however the volume on the sound system seemed to be off as it seemed like the comedians were screaming into the mic. I ordered a daiquiri that was horrible, however the waitress was quick to take it off my tab and I kept it simple with a beer. The opening comedians had me worried about what was to come however when the main comedian got started, the laughs were rolling in. There was another show so we were rushed out and told to hurry up and leave. (Guess they got our money and therefore customer service was no longer a priority). This venue seems smaller than the other ones, however as I said, if you are looking for a laugh, this place is a good place to go.

This place has a similar live improv show that gets the crowd laughing. Arrive early to find parking. I think we were there at least 30 minutes to an hour before the show, and the lot only had about 3 very tight spots left. Street parking looked limited. If you were forced that route, you'll need time to drive around looking for a spot and then walking your way back to the theater. At least the building parking was free! I'm not sure if the building has an elevator. We climbed stairs to enter it. The ticket booth is just inside to the left at the top of the stairs. A staff and show member greeted us and explained how the show worked, since we were new here. Chairs were lined up in rows, but they have little tables between every two chairs. Great for setting down your drinks and also gives you a more intimate experience if you are there on a date. You can also move your seat around a bit to adjust for long legs or growing girth. The front two rows have red velvet 2-seater lounge couches. These plush luxury seating options look great until you find yourself called on to participate in the performance in some way. Just for the record, sitting further back doesn't guarantee you won't be included in the show in some unexpected way. Audience participation happened in a variety of ways. Before the show, you could write ideas on post it notes and stick them on their idea board. Additionally, you could jot down a phrase on an index card and place it in a fishbowl. These items were regularly exploited during the show requiring the actors to think on their feet. Bartenders can make cocktails and standard mixed drinks. Beer and wine are fast and simple. Surprisingly, they don't do margaritas here because they take too long to make and the line backs up. Eventually they hope to get a frozen margarita machine to make it easier. Food options are severely limited to items you might find at an independent theatre. There is a small container of premade popcorn that honestly isn't very satisfying. We also split some chocolate covered pretzels that appeared to be individually wrapped by a special retailer. I recommend eating prior to coming or at least have a decent healthy snack at home and then go out to eat afterwards. The show was fun! The actors had a lot of different scenarios that kept you entertained. Each sketch only lasted 10-15 minutes. If you were only mildly amused, you didn't have to wait long before they were throwing something new at you. I would definitely come back here and would recommend others check it out for a fun evening of laughs.

I felt it was spacious, organized and had style. I really loved the opening visuals that came prior to the show beginning. The wait staff were nice, they do received about an 18% tip that's already included in your tab. There is a two item requirement to purchase a drink or food per person. In the end, they had it organized to where you could take pics with the headliner and go. While waiting outside, Usama was just walking around and I captured my video with him. You can tell the performers are comfortable here so much that they were walking around prior to their set. I Really loved my experience here! I can't wait to visit again when I am in the area.

I was struggling to make it through the show because I wanted to get out the chair so bad. With as much money as I know this venue makes on ticket sales and food sales, I would love to see some new tables and seating and a refresh on the layout tbh. Two item minimum purchase per person, so don't show up broke. I ordered nachos and a margarita. Both were actually good and not too badly priced at all, so I can appreciate that. The service we received was good and our waiter was very attentive and fast. Cant wait to see more comedians though and will try some other food items as well.

You can Bring Your Own Booze (BYOB) which also saves you money. We brought bottles of beer, and the box office had a bottle opener we could use to pop them open. There was no corkage fee, but they aren't going to be providing glasses or ice, nor will they pour your beverage for you. If you need a snack during the show, they offer some concessions at the box office window. It looked like candy, chips, and canned soda were available for sale. Before the late show, someone setup a table to sell multi-colored popcorn. It's not dinner, but it will tide you over until you can eat a proper meal elsewhere. The venue is located in a business park with plenty of free parking outside. There was a police officer parked in the lot and making the rounds. Not sure if that is par, but the business park seemed like a clean and relatively safe area. It's not the Ritz, but it isn't dive bar quality either. The walls are painted black and decorated with colorful panels. Metal stacking chairs with built in cushions are lined up nicely with at least one small table squeezed in each row. You could move the chairs if you felt you needed a little more elbow room. There are no arm rests. The low table allows you to set your drinks and snacks down so you can clap for the entertainment, but you'll need to get there early to score a spot next to one. The front row has two, 3-seater, plush couches. We got there early enough to get one of those seats, but opted to avoid the potential punishment of sitting in the front row of a comedy show. The comics during the early show were from Austin, San Antonio and Dallas. It was mostly local talent. Both men and women performed short sets of maybe 10-15 minutes. There were about 5 different comics that performed during the early show. Each comic had a monologue with some gems and some duds. This is raw talent, not polished TV fodder, but entertaining just the same. The late show was a special show. I wish we could have stayed for it, as the publicity for it was originally how we found out about this place. The venue is also offering improv classes. You'll have to check their website for prices and a schedule. Improv classes are for everyone, and everybody who takes them can benefit from learning to think out of the box, to integrating spontaneous creativity in their life, and to fostering better communication with others. This place is a good bargain for those looking for a night out without breaking the bank. Since my hubby is cheap, I'm sure we will be back.
