Unfortunately I do not care for the new neighborhood of her salon nor the arrangements in the salon. The atmosphere is horrible. Street vendors walk in to sell stuff to patrons while you are getting hair color. Sometimes male and sometimes female. Local security guards will walk in and interrupt her while she is attending to women patrons. I find it extremely weird and unsafe. And many other patrons have expressed similar sentiments. I am told they have to earn their living so she allows them to walk around bugging her customers. This is unacceptable. Next door smoke shops and bar are not an ideal place for a hair salon to be nestled in. In addition, a male barber shop inside her salon is also a very awkward arrangement. Some women customers have complained about foul language coming out loud and clear while they are getting hair treatment. Many young men visit this location - some are cops as well. Some women have complained these men start following them around. She does not have the sensitivity to understand what a salon environment should look like therefore has not cared to pay much attention to it nor plans to. Wishing her the best as I do not intend to revisit her location, it is not a salon. And hope she starts caring for her patrons' personal space and privacy. Not everyone feels comfortable to have local vendors walk in a women's salon and disrupt them.

This was my first time at Jackie Hair Salon and I love the way my hair turned out…read more I had bleached and dyed my hair in Korea about 4 months ago so my hair was heavily damaged making it look a bit messy. So I decided I wanted to switch it up by getting it straightened and cut (about 5 inches). Honestly, I took a leap of faith by trying someplace new because yelp reviewers rated this place high and because of their $150 straighten/treatment/haircut price. I'm glad I did. :) I called the day of to make an appointment for that same evening and was able to book an appointment for 4pm. They said it would take about 4 hours. I finished at 7:10pm (3 hrs 10mins). The girl who did my hair took the time to explain to me the process and why she was doing what she was...making me feel more at ease (This is my first time getting magic straight). Since my hair was long I was a bit nervous chopping off so much because I tend to feel that my face width looks a bit boxier. I asked for her to cut up to my collar bone with a very very slight bob angle from the back to the front so from the side view it doesn't look like one straight horizontal line. She could tell I was unsure so she cut a little longer than my collarbone and we worked out way up from there. I was so happy she did this because I always regret it when they chop so much all at once. The entire process was wash, cut, straighten chemical in hair, wash, dry, straighten out with iron, cut, put another chemical in hair, wash, put in treatment, treatment drying, straighten iron, and final cut. Only thing I'd improve about this place is maybe their music. (Only cuz music is so important to me.) Otherwise, the place is clean, there's parking in the back, friendly stylist, and a good price! This year I wanted another new style and went back a few days ago, Jankee did my hair once again and it came out perfect once again! She is the reason I adore this place. First off she ALWAYS listens to what you want and does not hesitate to give you her own advice. She is also not scissor happy which is huge in my book. She tells you exactly how much she is going to take off and sticks with that length. The salon is in a great location as well and is very clean. Personally, I am beyond happy I found this place and I highly recommend it.
