They ruined my rug…read more I discovered this "service" from a living social deal and John, the owner, lured me in with a very good price on a cleaning for my 8' x 10' area rug. The rug was in good condition but could use a refresher (since its gray and I felt had picked up some dirt). After arriving more than an hour late, his guy came in and "cleaned" my rug with a large and to be honest, bad smelling contraption. It appeared when he was finished that the rug looked a bit brighter than before, but the next day, after it had dried there were more than a dozen BROWN WATER MARKS all over my rug AND a MILDEW smell permeating throughout my apartment. I was leaving on vacation in 4 days and called John frantically for an explanation and so he could fix this problem and he said there were no appointments in the time before I was leaving and to call back when I returned so he could come personally and take care of the problem. Well....I gave John 10 chances to redeem himself (that's how many time I've called him over the past week so make a follow up appointment) but he has not answered the phone a single time or returned my call after 2 messages. This was the biggest waste of money I've ever spent! My rug now looks horrible (I've included pictures of the stains that are all over the rug). If you care at all about your rugs/carpets...stay away from Preferred Carpet!

I try to clean on a daily basis, but it's been a little difficult to do deep cleanings after having a baby, working, and going to school full-time. I even cleaned my home before she came because I wanted her to mainly focus on the stove/oven/hood, which I have been overlooking for some time. I did spend an hour cleaning up after, which is beside the whole point of hiring a cleaner... But my issue isn't with the cleaning lady, it's with the owner. When I brought the issue up to her, she completely ignored me, even when I sent her pictures and brought it up twice. I was completely friendly about it and was just expecting a response, not a refund or anything. Again, I did not want to leave a bad review and just wanted to give some feedback, but I feel like the customer service is completely lacking. By the way my cabinets and stove did not have those stains on it before the cleaner came. I think she used the same towel that she used on the stove for my entire counter and cabinets because everything was covered in black and brown specks afterwards. The cleaner took a super short video after the cleaning was completed which is appreciated but it's hard to tell what was cleaned clearly. But when we came back to the apartment later in the day, saw that the stove, refrigerator and floors were generally clean but noticed that majority of the insides of cabinets/drawers were not wiped, many corners/edges along where the floor/walls meet still had a lot of leftover debris/dust, and she forgot to clean the underside of the toilet lid. We told the owner about this and she sent the cleaner to come back and redo some parts of it. But even after she redid the cleaning on those parts, it was marginally better, but there was still some debris and dust left on the edges and corners after she wiped so it felt kind of futile to ask her to redo it a third time at this point since she just didn't seem to have that attention to detail. I ended up just having to clean those parts again myself. In our initial conversation with the owner before booking, they advised they bring all their own equipment for cleaning (including vacuum). But when the cleaner came, she didn't come with a vacuum. Their reasoning was because our apartment is only hardwood floors, but given how there was still dust balls in some corners/edges even in the second visit, just cleaning liquid and wipes are not enough for them to clean properly. If you just need a very general cleaning this service is fine but don't have high expectations for them to clean thoroughly.

I assumed if I wasn't the first appointment, I should build in leeway. I wasn't in the unit. They sent before and after photos. I went back the next day. They did such a good job, I wanted to tip.
