Fremont has so many beautiful hiking trails, so I was surprised to discover this one, I had no idea it was even there. We started at the Pine Street entrance, which sits along a busy street and between residential homes. We were careful not to block any driveways, especially after noticing several hand-painted "No Parking" signs. The trail is paved... until it isn't. We got a little turned around at one point and ended up near some barbed wire, so we turned back and retraced our steps. In total, we hiked for about an hour and fifteen minutes. The trail winds behind these magnificent homes and connects to several other trailheads along the way. It offers beautiful Bay Area views, and we heard so many birds throughout the hike. There was even an audio tour available via a QR code created by a local Boy Scout troop, such a cool touch! I'm really looking forward to returning and feel so grateful to have access to these wonderful, accessible trails.

The man made lake is beautiful curved with willow trees planted along the shore . A lot of shade and lounge chairs to sit and relax . I sane some young parents with baby strollers , a few people Ja's fishing poles , jogging groups . It is a great place to enjoy the views of the wild life ( birds ) , plants and scenery along the lake . There is a small parking lot at the entrance. If it gets full in the morning , you can easily find street parking with access to the lake . I enjoy the peaceful environment very much .

Which makes sense when you're in a concrete urban jungle day in and day out - we just weren't meant to live this way. I literally searched Yelp for a park in the area on my way home, and Lakeshore came up. Tucked away in a residential area, Lakeshore is a small-ish, serene, well-kept park with, as the name implies, a lake being the central point. I strolled on the path for a bit. I'm not sure how long the path is, but it seems like a good spot to get a decent walk in, and there were a few walkers and joggers. After stretching my legs for a bit, I grabbed some bench and watched the birds - geese (these guys are huge!), seagulls, ducks, and crows - hanging out and eyeballing me to determine if I had food. They were so cute. There is nothing that gets me feeling better fast than being around animals. The human animals that passed by were nice as well, with smiles and hellos, how refreshing. I spent some time just sitting and resetting. It was good. I need to do this more. Nice park, enjoyed a much-needed reprieve here, and would return.

It's pretty small, but you can find some interesting shots. There's the windmill, the pergola, a bench. There was some side location with a nice lawn and fountain, (California Nursery Park Museum & Office), but there was a guy smoking weed there, so it became unpleasant to take photos in the succulent area. The rose garden is on the right as you drive in to the nursery. From the parking lot, you'll have to walk back towards Niles Blvd. It's not Filoli, but hey, no one is stopping you from volunteering to make something better in your community. We need more doers and less complainers.

a review from @amom2kidsandapark…read more It was hot today and this park seemed like the perfect destination...sea breeze, amiright? No. No, I'm wrong. There's a large man-made hill between the park and the shore blocking any and all "sea breeze". With zero to no shade over the structure, it's safe to say we didn't stay here long. The park is pretty large with two ball fields and plenty of grass in between (no permanent outfield boards so it's essentially a huge open field with some dirt and a backstop on either corner). The entire park has paved sidewalks all around, especially near the playground where the sidewalks weave in and out of picnic tables and a man-made grove of small/someday giving shade trees. That's one thing this park really has going for it, there's a lot of trees. The play structure is in a circle format with bridges or a crawl tunnel connecting platform to platform. This format really allows for younger children not yet ready for the suspended lily pads or monkey bars to have fun and enjoy the entire structure. There are three slides (sidewinder, tube, double), steps, various ladders, activities, and the before mentioned crawl tube that can almost act as a fourth slide because of the angle. No swings or playground extras. While there is a parking lot and bathroom it couldn't be any farther from the playground. We parked on Point Lobos Ct which is much closer to the playground but we still had to walk a few minutes to get to the playground since it's tucked in the back corner. This park is great for biking and scootering or even stroller walks since it has a lot of long sidewalks.
