Fun pizza restaurant down by the water. I like that the gluten-free pizza isn't too expensive like most places. The restaurant is a bit small, which can cause it to feel crowded and loud. There is outdoor seating with heating lamps, so the cold isn't much of an issue. However, it can also get pretty loud in that area, as well. Though the pizza was good, the service wasn't as great. Our waitress didn't really check up on us to see how we were doing. Not once did we get a refill of water. She'd go to one table but then walk right by us and onto something else. The other table near us was getting pretty chummy with who I assumed was the owner. Everyone got in and out pretty quickly, but we just kept getting ignored. There was a couple who sat down after my group and they were served a lot faster and left before us. Not sure if I have to be overly friendly to get attention, but it certainly seemed that way. *I credit Gene, 16 year Yelp Elite, for putting Niles Peacock on my radar screen. I was never able to check out the Fremont/Wallingford site before it migrated up to its current site near the Edmonds ferry terminal. *Niles Peacock Kitchen and Bar was featured on KING 5 Evening and other local publications after the big pizza competition win in Las Vegas. *Then the Instagram post with Lee, owner of Moto Pizza in West Seattle vouching for the pizza at NPK&B had me take notice. *Award winning mixologist and pizzaiolo, notable pizza dough....okay definitely bookmarked. The atmospheric hose of dreary skies and heavy rain did not contribute positively to my attitude yesterday (6/9/22). But it being my birthday, I knew I had to do something festive to improve my demeanor. So shortly after NPK&B opened at 4pm, I was the lone person dining solo onsite. I definitely did not want to get all dressed up and deal with downtown Seattle traffic and parking. Heck, I was so low key it was Tshirt, jeans, tennis shoes, and rain slicker attire. I was well taken care of at my corner two top without being intrusive, perfect vantage site to people watch and take in the immediate environment. Observations made during my 90 minute visit: covered/heated outdoor seating, indoor and bar counter seating available, decent menu selection for apps, salads, pizzas, and beverages, upbeat kitchen and restaurant staff, decent music track, nice interior artwork, but faux plants. I started with the meatball app which was tasty, saucy, and well garnished with parmesan shavings and fresh basil ($14). The marinara sauce was sopped up with my pizza ends. And yes, I gobbled up all three giant meatballs. This provided a good base for not one, but two Paper Airplane celebratory cocktails, like bookends at the beginning and end of my birthday dinner. This well crafted cocktail from the personable bartender had bourbon, aperol, amaro, fresh lemon juice, and lemon peel garnish ($14 each). I ordered a 16 inch More Cow Bell pizza, which had a terrific thin, flavorful NY style crust with marinara sauce, mozzarella, Canadian bacon, sausage, and meatballs ($29). The pizza dough was well executed from a mother dough. I ate two slices while onsite. I did appreciate that the remaining six slices were placed in a lined takeout box. More staff came on shift, no surprise as the bar counter and various tables were filling up, and calls coming in to check on availability. There was also brisk takeout. Kitchen crew, wait staff, and bartender had a nice rhythm going. Pleasant to me, all that came for onsite dining, takeout, or the regulars at the bar. This had an overall nice vibe which with my food and drink greatly improved this birthday gal's mood. Bonus - I did get to meet in person and have a pleasant convo with Niles Peacock to wrap up my visit. Edmonds has become a go to northend waterfront destination for retail and arts/culture venues plus their nice variety of bars, cafes, and restaurants. I really do not like to write negative reviews. But we did not have the best experience. I had been wanting to try Niles Peacock for a while and met a friend for dinner. The place was packed and it is a very small tight space. So it was a bit uncomfortable. First -there are no substitutions on the pizza. Nor can you build your own pizza. I really wanted to get the trois fromages and add pepperoni. NOPE. Not allowed. Every pizza must be made to order. So what it the big deal to add a topping? So since there is no pepperoni and sausage pizza- and since I can't just build my own - I had to order a Hunt and Gather and ask for a bunch of items to be removed (you are allowed to remove an item). And then my pizza comes out with raw tomatoes on it - which I asked to be left off (I loathe raw tomatoes). The pizza was so so - not very flavorful - and certainly not worth $25. I only ate half. And the waitress was not exactly pleasant. Water was never refilled. And to top it off we asked for separate checks. She brought us one check. From the other reviews and how packed it was - I guess we are in the minority. But we would personally not feel the need to go back. read more

Fun new spot in downtown Edmonds. I love that they have a variety of drinks and food available. Our group really liked everything we ordered, including the pizza. There is plenty of parking in a convenient lot and it's close enough to other attractions that walking is a great option. Close to the ferry, beaches, the Waterfront Center, public transport, and a lot of other great bars and restaurants. The overall feel is casual, low key, and friendly. This would be a great spot for meeting up with friends, family, or colleagues.
