    Vegetarian tacos. "American Style".

Phenomenal authentic taco joint. You can order for pick up, order and take to go or order and dine in. There are tables a counter and stools and a restroom. Prices are a bit high and from my experiences, sometimes your order isn't accurate. But the flavors and freshness are the best in the area. I can't say enough about the corn tortillas and "Mexican" style tacos. Staff is always welcoming and friendly too!

    The inside.

This place is one of my favorite sycamore spots to eat at. It has a great ambiance for a taco shop and is clean. Very polite and tasty food. Plus the young man behind the counter was very helpful and nice. I didn't catch his name but I thought I heard someone call him Jesse. Anyways, shout out to Jesse, great worker!

Their guacamole is superior to anyone in DeKalb county. My kid LOVES their steak tacos. So much they made his 15th birthday dinner of 35 tacos shaped into a 15. And the staff is seriously SO NICE!

Love this hidden gem!!!! Got a referral from my hair dresser and she was right, they are so good. During COVID they are open for carry out and have a few outside tables with umbrellas. Seems everyone knows about it as they are always busy. But being new in town, we had no idea as it's off the beaten path.

They just opened up a new location in my hometown of Kirkland, but living in Dekalb I decided to try some tacos on a Tuesday. I brought my dad with and he was pretty impressed. They were very good and tasted authentic. Next time I'm going to try a burrito!!

Looked up reviews for Mexican. I always disregard the "negative nancy" reviews. Nina's was highly rated. We stopped here for lunch. We were going to eat it on the road but when we walked in noticed the counters with stools so we sat down and ate in restaurant. They also had tables as well. I ordered a Steak Suizo Burrito and Jr ordered a Taco Combo. We loved it. The employees are cheerful and hard working. There are plenty of choices on the menu so we plan on going back for more.

Tamales y tacos! Can't go wrong with Nina's Tacos!!!

    Do they open on weekends?

Open on Saturdays and closed Sundays ;) but they are pretty much family owned so might randomly change since it's still early in the year and cold.

My NIU student found this place when their club needed a place for a lot of people last minute (other restaurant they had reserved couldn't do it last minute). After a great experience there for that, she's brought other family members back. I can't wait to come back and try the different margaritas

Los Rancheros is a place that has a pretty big menu of classics and specials. A lot of the typical items. The prices are kind of high but you get a lot on a plate. Could be disappointed if expecting authentic flavors. It's like a lot of the typical restaurants around here of this style. There's typical favorites like chimichangas and all that. Kind of pricy for some items. Seems the portions are big though. It's about $12 for a margarita. There's also bigger ones that cost even more but these are humongous ass ones. Food is not that bad. It's about $16 for the Veggie Taco Salad. This has broccoli, cauliflower, mushrooms, onions, peppers, squash, tomatoes, and zucchini. Also there's the cheese sauce and sour cream which I left off. This is also topped with guacamole, lettuce, and tomatoes. Big enough we could share it. There's a crap ton of things on the menu so you can get burritos or even seafood like scallops. Good place for getting some Americanized Mexican food. It's located in DeKalb Market Square close to Wal-Mart and other chain stores. This is maybe the most authentic one around so whatever.

Best bar in DeKalb County! This is me and my friend's favorite bar to go to. Great service and fun,…read morefriendly crowd

Ah, good old Cub and Spanks…read more.. Now I've only been coming here for the past couple of months, but they fulfill a couple of requirements I require in a bar. 1) cheap drinks. And I don't mean this place is the kind of establishment that serves drinks in red solo cups, they serve them in regular plastic tumbler cups, and they're not bottom shelf garbage liquids either. A Jameson and Ginger ale will set you back a whopping $4. I feel like I'm stealing from the bar when I drink here! This is a good thing. 2) conversational level of crowd noise. This place has never been so loud that I couldn't hear the person I was sitting with, granted, we haven't come here on a Friday or Saturday night, so consider that the asterisk. I prefer a place where u don't need a bullhorn to talk to someone 3 feet away. 3) shuffleboard table. This place will always have a special place in my heart since I popped my shuffleboard cherry here on September 30th after closing out Charter Fitness. However, they've since replaced the old board with a new-fangled board with the prison bars that come up in the middle to avoid free plays, and the table is but crooked. Not that I'm a cheapskate and try to play for free, but the sand gets stuck in the holes so when you start a game, you have to manually push the bars in in order to allow your pucks to slide freely from end to end. I know, I know, #firstworldproblems 3) jukebox. Since the beginning if time, man has attempted to push forth their culture on those around them, and this is the perfect way to do it. You can even control the jukebox from your phone! Well, your smartphone at least. I don't think your Motorola StarTAC is going to help you out here, nor will your Nokia 8200. 4) regulars. You will see the same people day in day out here, whatever day of the week. They may or may not remember that you had a conversation about whatever you had a conversation about, but they're friendly. Or you can chalk it up to this place being a townie bar, but I won't call it that. Come to Cubbies, sidle up to the bar, and maybe drop a buck on a game of shuffleboard or two. If I'm there, say hello and challenge me to a game. I might show you a thing or two. Or not. I've only been playing for a couple if months...
