I even think it is better than the food in SoCal! What has lost me as a recommender and a guest is the AWFUL customer service. More often than not you will not receive what you order if doing a pickup. Lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cilantro and cheese are listed as being the toppings for tacos. Last night I got home with my 2 tacos and found about a 1/2 cup of yellow shredded lettuce, 1/2 cup of diced tomatoes and 1 teaspoon of grated cheese. No onions, no cilantro! Basically no flavor. It was incredibly disappointing because I saved calories all day to enjoy JG and was left with a bland dinner that was at the most worth $5. Not sure what is going on because takeout mishaps have been forgiven repeatedly - now I just feel like it's intentional or they're misrepresenting themselves and getting rid of inventory on takeout orders? I attended a work group lunch at Jalapeño Grill and it seems to be a popular little lunch spot during the week. I think someone shared it used to be an old gas station, which explains the layout and location. The ingredients in our lunches were pretty fresh, like the guacamole, salsa, and avocado slices on tacos. I loved seeing an El Milagro truck pull up for a delivery while there, as it is my favorite brand for chips snd tortillas. I ordered the chicken tortilla soup with a grilled cheese sandwich and it was too much for me to finish. The fries are natural cut and very shareable. I also liked the combination of shredded chicken, carrots, potatoes and tortilla strips in my soup. The only thing I disliked is the bathroom right in the same room as table seating so you can hear the toilet from the tables in one of the dining areas. And the parking lot on site has limited spots. If you're in the market for a colon cleanse, look no further. We used to eat here regularly, but the food quality has fallen off a cliff in the last few years. Credit where it's due: the counter person was nice and the horchata is still solid. But the food took 25 minutes, there were no chips, and the meat and veggies just aren't what they used to be. We ate here on a Sunday and very excited to learn this is a great place to get decent tasty reasonable Mexican food. The Horchata had a yummy rice cinnamon taste. The salsa was very good! I had the Steak Burrito and it was everything I wanted in a Burrito. The Tres Leche is homemade by owner and really delicious. We enjoyed it so much we came back for Taco Tuesday! The Jalapeño Grill is a fine Mexican establishment in STC. It's been around for years and has a definite following. The food is fresh, there are a lot of options and they are consistent. I had to knock off a couple stars because the price has gotten really absurd. It's far more expensive than in needs to be. I had two vegetarian tostados and they totaled $10. No meat, just lettuce, onion, tomato the tortilla and two this slices of avocado. Avocados are back under a dollar, so how can those ingredients total $5 each...It's confusing. Very rarely do I find a place that I MUST visit two days in a row! This has been one of my favorite random discoveries ever! Driving by, it has a unique motif that could mistaken for a hipster version of an authentic Mexican restaurant. However, being hungry, I decided to pull in and check it out. Their menu is immense, with offerings varying from hamburgers to varieties of meats only seasoned (pun intended) Mexican food loving people would consider. While it was a little bit pricey for a place outside of a major city, the smells that wafted past my nose made me understand that I was in a great place. The food was incredible! Again, I was very hungry so I was ready to eat just about anything. But this was not just some grub to stop my stomach from growling. It was delicious! It was authentic! A bad thing is it doesn't have any alcohol. There would be no margaritas for us. Instead we got Jarritos. It's $2.50 a bottle, so kind of a lot. These are much cheaper other places. As for the food there were a few vegetarian choices. The ones we had were quite similar. She had a Veggie Burrito. The vegetables in that one aren't cooked. I had the Grilled Veggie Burrito. It's $7.95 and the vegetables are cooked. This has beans, cheese, lettuce, pico de gallo, sour cream, and tomatoes. Get it vegan and it's still okay. These are even better with the hot sauces. It also doesn't have free chips and salsa appetizers. They make you pay for these for what you can get at most places it should be free. Good stuff but kind of expensive for a few things that for sure shouldn't be. It has no alcohol which sucks for a Mexican restaurant, because you can't get any margaritas. Let me start off by saying the burrito is massive. I finished playing golf and was starving. From sheer volume alone, this was more than enough to satisfy. Service was fine. Price for a burrito was, in my opinion, a bit high at $13. The burrito itself, was a bit of a struggle. I had the pastor, and the flavors were ok, not great. The beans, and there are a lot of them, are runny. Don't try to eat this in your car. Rest of the ingredients were ok. Salsas were bland. I guess the red was better than the green. We ordered from here thru Yelp and were somewhat disappointed. The service was very disjointed upon arrival. The pickup window directed us to the cashier, but the cashier directed us to the pickup window. This was frustrating as each time we had to wait our turn. We ordered 2 kid meals and 2 fajita flares with chips and guacamole. The kids meals apparently came with a drink, but when ordering was never asked what we wanted in the app. So the staff handed us 2 Pepsis (our kids are 4 & 2, so this was not a drink we would have chose). The price was higher than other Mexican places we've been to, with smaller portions. For example, the fajitas they gave us enough shells for maybe 8 tacos, but only enough meat for 3. Usually when ordering fajitas we've always had more than enough leftover, but not in this instance. Overall, I don't think we'll likely return since there are other options. read more

Came here after seeing positive reviews and the service was so terrible. The manager or whoever was taking orders up front was so rude and short with us. Such a rude tone when talking to us compared to other customers. Couldn't even get a thank you or have a nice day compared to other customers that came after us. We sat down immediately after placing our order and the manager/glasses dude up front was on the phone and then yells while on the phone with another customer at us "DONT SIT THERE!!! THATS DIRTY! I have ordered Carne Asada dinner several times in the past and was satisfied until I got home and open the container which did not in fact included Carne Asada at all! Instead I was given the following...greasy low budget meat!!! When I called the restaurant I was informed this is what they offer although I know this not to be true. The response I got was this was rib eye anyone who is Hispanic would know this is complete CRAP!! Due to that response they have lost a loyal customer! Stopped in for a breakfast burrito and left SO happy!! This place is such a gem! Great location with parking spots out front and easily available. It was clean when we walked in, and the workers were both wearing masks (mask wearing is also enforced at the door), and hand sanitizer is provided next to the register. Staff were super nice as well! We ordered two chorizo breakfast burritos, and I'm pretty sure I'll be craving these daily now! They were PACKED with eggs, chorizo, potatoes, beans, and cheese, and they came with amazing salsa. Such a good sized burrito and for only $6.50!
