Oh M G is about the only place in Elburn to get burritos, tacos, and the like it seems. Helps there's a lack of competition. This place would be in trouble but lucky for them they're the only game in town. After needing to make a stop for a drink I came in. It's next to a liquor store, and I thought why not just come here and get food too. They have both of these here, so this is where I went. It's about $12 for a margarita. The Signature Marilu Margarita is a couple bucks more and is made with house tequila, lime and orange juice, and orange liquor, probably Triple Sec. It was refreshing as fuck. Turns out it was better than the food to be honest. Food actually was pretty good. The Border Nachos is the best thing. It's $8 for a big plate. These are topped with cheese and sour cream, which I left off, as well as beans, jalapeños, and tomatoes. Has a lack of vegetarian choices. The burritos and tacos all have beef, chicken, or something else meaty. Have to say it's the best Mexican place in town, because besides this, the only other choice is Taco Bell. It's sure better than that of course. The only bad thing is there's not much for vegans and vegetarians.

We already loved the food and atmosphere but Double Egg goes the extra mile. With how busy they were, we didn't have long of a wait. They said about 15 minutes give or take and I feel like it was less than that. We were seated in a booth and attended to fairly quickly. Quick enough that I barely got a chance to look at the menu and get ahold of my toddler. Our waitress gave us more time to check out what we wanted without us feeling rushed. Something I will always love at any restaurant is fresh squeezed juices. My favorite being orange juice, but they do have several others as well. The complimentary soup was delicious. Chicken and rice. I didn't think to order my toddler one because he can be fairly picky and I didn't want to waste it. Bad idea on my end apparently because I only got two bites -- while my toddler devoured the rest. I ordered a quart of the soup to go. SO glad that is an option! When our food arrived, which was fairly quickly in my opinion, my mom's was missing cheese. She brought it to our waitress's attention and her plate was immediately brought back with the missing cheese in place. I got the chilaquiles which were phenomenal. For those who are curious, the salsa verde that is used can be a little spicy for those with a more sensitive pallet. My toddler and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I feel that the prices are very reasonable. When we were leaving, my mother and I were each handed a rose and told happy Mother's Day. This was the extra mile. Not only do they provide so many made-in-house options (fresh squeezed juice, etc), and complimentary soups; they knew that something so small as handing out single roses to mothers, could make a huge impact.. and they did it. For those of us that are single parent and have toddlers, such a small act of kindness really goes a long way. Thank you Double Egg for going the extra mile. We'll definitely be back again.
