This was my first time hunting on a ranch and my first time hunting hogs. Everyone at the ranch was AMAZING!! They gave off a big family vibe. Everyone was so friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and just plain fun to be around! They do everything they can to make your hunt a memorable one. The hunts and food were both great. These people work hard and are great at what they do! I would 100% recommend them! We drove from Indiana and it was worth every mile. I'm looking forward to my next hunt at 9 Bar Ranch! read more

Absolutely fantastic hunt! Jim/Bob, guides and staff were the best. I'd normally use names but I didn't ask permission..... the lodge, food and all staff are top tier. Just got back from a great hog hunt with JimBob and the crew. My buddy and I made the journey from Montana to Texas for our first hog hunt. Not knowing what to expect on our first trip to the 9 Bar Ranch, we were more than pleased with our decision to hunt with them. JimBob's wife Christy made some delicious home cooked meals that kept everyone in camp well fed and happy. There was no shortage of good food and drink to be had. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable as well as nice big bathrooms. The guides are fantastic and very knowledgeable about the game. Our guide Lance was awesome to hunt with. Everyone in camp managed to get a hog or two during their hunt with a couple of people getting even more. It was so much fun down there that I'm going back next year with my son for his first hog hunt and it looks like my buddy is going to go again with some of his family. JimBob was very rude and unprofessional. He actually tried to charge one of my family members for a white-tale even though he left with nothing! My family goes hunting yearly and have never been treated like this from any other lodge before. Very Disappointed!!! The reason I gave a 2 star is because at least the guides were great! read more

The experience at Nine Bar Ranch was nothing like I had expected. I was given a hog hunt for a birthday gift and what a gift it was. The guides are down to earth, funny, and will hunt as hard as you want to. There is a stigma about ranch type hunts, the stigma that all you have to do is sit at a feeder and wait is not even close to how this ranch runs. Although this is how we hunted the hogs, my Red Deer hunt was a spot and stock hunt. There are so many animals on this ranch, sneaking up within 250 yards of a good bull proved to be difficult. My guide Holden and I stocked 2 different bulls through the rolling hills, walked through creeks, and crawled in order to get under 300 yards in order to take my first Red Deer. The meals were fantastic, sitting on the front porch at night, you would not know you were 20 miles from Fort Worth TX. Great time, great people, with fantastic animals and priced to fit almost any income. I already have plans to revisit next year with my brother. Tom Dimick read more
