Did not care for the taste of it either. We order take out/carry out. We were running late picking it up, and still had to wait at least 20 minutes till it was done. So that was about 15 minutes before we got there (they said it would be ready in ten) and then another 20 minutes after we got there so all in all, about 35-40 minutes to get an order of chicken a side of lo mein that was pure crap. This place is a hole in the wall and wasn't the cleanest restaurant I've been too, but they did have a large plastic screen up as a COVID precaution. I ordered the crab/cheese puffs, lunch combo sesame chicken with steamed rice, and my dad got the lunch boneless spare ribs with pork fried rice. All of our food was good. The crab puffs were tasty and not too crabby. The sesame chicken was decent but wasn't my favorite texture and flavor-wise. My dad enjoyed his food and liked the special was served with pork fried rice. I was disappointed that the lunch special didn't include an appetizer or soup like many Chinese restaurants do. Overall this place was good, and I would be open to returning if I wanted a quick bite near campus, but wouldn't drive out of my way to come here. read more

A low-priced meal with plenty of flavor. They have a typical Chinese menu with a little something for everyone, including vegetarians. There are several small tables inside, or you can order to go and take the food home. I ordered the General Tso's Tofu, based on another review. While the portion size was very generous, there wasn't much broccoli and the tofu was awfully mushy. The sauce was good though. It was just $7 for dinner, including a tip. I just can't make myself order Chinese food from anywhere else. I know it's nothing fancy but its Chinese food done exactly how I want it - greasy but not so greasy I'll be sick right after I eat it. The lunch is one of the best (if not the best) deal at midday around LSU - 4 items off of their buffet of about 14 items for just over $5 with tax. Even after lunch, you get literally 2 lbs of food (entree, rice/noodles) for under $10. My go-tos are the Coconut Chicken, the Amazing Chicken, ANY of the soups, and the Beef with Broccoli. After reading the reviews, I decided I had to try it, especially since I have a love affair with hole-in-the-wall Chinese joints. My trip started great when I paid less than $7, and I got 4 dishes and a drink. I got the Lo Mein and the Teriyaki Chicken, and a couple of others. I was pleased with everything. The Lo Mein was fresh with the noodles being soft but not mushy. The chicken comes on skewers and was also very fresh. Nothing like fast, affordable Chinese food. This is close to LSU, and I always see a ton of undergrads in there. There's a few tables if you want to dine in, but it seems people mainly order for take out. They don't do delivery, unfortunately. Personally, I'm partial to the vegetable egg foo young, which is basically a patty made of fried egg with snap peas, carrots, etc. incorporated throughout. Theirs is pretty good and comes with an order of rice and a brown sauce. You can get an order of three with a small container of rice and an eggroll for under $8, which is perfect for my (extremely small) budget. Can't beat $4/dinner serving! I've also had their egg drop soup, which is also pretty solid (not literally), as well as their fried rice. The roast pork in the rice was FULLY ROTTED and tasted horrible. Fucking disgusting is too nice of a way to describe it. The rice part had ZERO flavor--the only thing you could taste or smell was the stench of rotten pork in the rice. In went into the garbage as well. If this place isn't doing enough business to keep two of the most popular item on Chinese menus fresh enough to serve--not that they have ANY issue selling food WAY PAST it's prime--then they are on their way to being out of business. It was the worst Chinese food I have EVER HAD and I've lived in Asia--I've eaten stuff off of food carts in Hong Kong, Tokyo and Seoul and nothing I've ever had was as absolutely terrible as this meal. Don't eat here unless you want to get up close and personal with your toilet in the middle of the night as you enjoy the visit from the food poisoning fairy. What really makes it bad is that they COULD NOT have missed the STENCH of the ROTTEN PORK--and they SERVED IT TO ME ANYWAY. I saw some of the reviews of this place and decided to venture away from my usual Chinese take out spot. Bad choice. This place is really busy with lousy food. Before you even think about going here, know that it is not really Chinese food. It is kind of like Chinese food with a lot of salt! We had beef lo mein, sweet and sour pork, and wonton soup. The soup was almost too salty to drink. I had to stop and throw out over half of it. The sweet and sour pork was basically little fried pork nuggets in Polynesian sauce (This is not how it is supposed to be you know. There are supposed to be some pork bones in there and onions, and occasionally bell peppers). The beef lo mein was also on the salty side. There are certainly better options at this price point.
