Complete with the murmur of happy people and the most beautiful music you could imagine. It really was a fairy take to see the sight form that perspective. It made all the planning worth it. The Teahouse Co. was more than their webs sites and phone calls lead to believe, they were spectacular. I was continually given any information i wanted, needed, required, inquired and beyond within an amazing time frame. They were so professional, and absolutely made the atmosphere a huge success. Since being married the majority of conversations have been in regards to how people enjoyed the night. Not one person has not mentioned the music. I cant tell you how wonderful they are, and what a great decision it is to hire them if you have a need. I will be referring people every chance I can. I went to the most recent event at the Globe Theater in downtown Los Angeles. It was an amazing…read morevenue with a great second floor mezzanine. The live music was incredible, the guy playing the sax really knows how to jam. The dancers and musicians were performing together, and did several shows! There's this magical connection between a musician and a dancer that you see and feel as they improvise and work the crowd, the stage, and the whole venue. In between performances there was social dancing, with a lot of great dancers dressed to the nines. The birthday cake performance is something you got to see and experience, totally off the charts, like something you'd see in a movie! The final performance is with a giant martini glass. The girl dances around/in the glass filled with water and then pours champagne all over herself. One of the most wild over the top things I've ever seen! The energy and vibes were off the hook! I highly recommend this for couples that want a special date night, large groups that want a unique experience/entertainment, and people who want to celebrate their birthday in style.

There were definitely not 10 acts and YES then entire chaotic mess of a show was only 15-20 minutes long!!! Anyone can blues dance, it's really all about the music, and what it tells your body to do. It's about a connection between you and your partner, and it is about two people sharing the same space, and truly becoming one fluid entity. If you like to dance and have never tried blues dancing, I highly recommend coming here for the lesson. Blues dancing is very slow, very close, and very sensual. You have to be comfortable with yourself, with other people, and with your body in order to enjoy this dance. I suggest bringing a date if you are not willing to be up close and personal with a stranger. The lessons are always unique, and the teachers are fantastic (different every time). If you don't know what blues dancing is, you should come to the lesson. If you are a swing dancer and you've never tried blues, you should come to the lesson. If you are one of the world's most experienced blues dancers, you should still probably come to the lesson (or consider teaching one). No two people dance blues in the same way. I really don't want to go to a blues dancing venue that feels like a mormon high school dance. I want REAL blues, with REAL blues music. This fusion stuff has gotta go. I also am not a huge fan of blues dancers who are just regurgitating rehearsed moves they learned in class. I want to dance with partners who have real soul, who are there for the real thing. I hate to hate, but what I would give for a soulful blues dance venue in LA!!! If anyone knows of one... hit me up. On a positive note, these people were pretty nice. But I'm not there to chat. I'm there to dance.

Gumbo Brothers made the night…read more... Stumbled into this portion of level 8, after the vibes were mild near the carousel rooftop bar. Good size crowd, but it was easy enough to get a drink from the bar. Vibes were good and got better when the Gumbo Brothers came on. They are a cover band, but specific to hip hop and RnB, and they killed it. Jay on the sax was amazing, and Apollo on the mic was perfect. We will be back on Friday or Saturday, since I believe that's when the Gumbo Brothers are there.

The meat in the portions are always a great value for your money. Aside from the pho, my personal favorite is their bun bo hue - another meaty flavorful soup, though this one usually includes pork blood and is spicy. Gigo also has great egg rolls, but since I eat lunch alone here a lot... I don't have room for noodles AND egg rolls, sadly. Almost every time I'm there, I get a whole fresh coconut :) they cut it open so you can drink the juices and then scoop out the coconut meat after!
