There aren't a lot of sushi places in the Bay Area that open late, so I'm really glad that I found out about this place! This is a small and cozy restaurant - ideal for a date or small groups. I came here on a Friday night and it wasn't too busy. However, it took a while before my husband and I were seated at our table. If you're hangry, this might not be the ideal spot to go to. There were only two people working the entire restaurant. I think it's the husband making the sushi and the wife taking the orders and bringing them to the tables. There's no parking lot, only street parking, so plan accordingly. The wait didn't bother me too much considering they did have quite a bit of to go orders to fulfill, the phone was ringing and it was just the two of them. So, please be patient if you're going to eat here. I'm sure they are trying their best! They have Japanese food/sushi on their menu, but they also have Korean dishes as well. I ordered a hot California roll, regular California roll with imitation crab (you can ask for real crab- it'll just cost extra). I also ordered Lemon Killer roll and the San Mateo roll. My husband ordered the Penthouse roll and Dragon roll. The Hot California Roll has: Deep fried California roll w/unagi sauce, spicy mayo - I really enjoyed the hot California roll.The tempura batter is really nice. The rice is still soft, but the tempura batter has a nice crunch to it. I really enjoyed that this roll came out warm and not lukewarm or cold. The spicy mayo sauce they put on top really compliments the tempura batter well. It also goes well with the unagi sauce. I love sweet, spicy and savory combinations and this roll definitely had that. It was slightly sweet from the unagi sauce. The California Roll has: imitation crab meat & avocado - The avocado they use is really fresh and creamy. I like how they shredded and minced the imitation crab in the roll. I have been to places that just use a chunk of imitation crab in their California roll. The only areas for improvement that I could think of is that I wish the pieces of the roll weren't cut so thick and I wish they added sesame seeds to the roll. It really helps elevate it. The Lemon Killer Roll has: salmon, & sliced lemon over shrimp tempura, avocado, & cucumber roll w/unagi sauce, lemon mayo - I'm a big fan of rolls that have raw salmon and then a slice of lemon on top. I really enjoyed the shrimp tempura in this roll. The avocado and cucumber were very fresh. I love being able to taste cucumber in a sushi roll. It goes well with the sushi rice and the rice vinegar used in the sushi rice. I wish that the lemon slices were thicker. There wasn't a whole lot of lemon taste. They also don't slice the lemon here with the skin still intact, which isn't a good or bad thing; it's a personal preference. I have never been to a sushi restaurant that use lemon mayo, until now. I thought that was pretty unique and it was quite tasty. - Here's where the Lemon Killer Roll lost some points. I feel like the lemon slices could be thicker. When I received the roll, I could barely see the lemon slices on top of the salmon. It was like looking at an invisible pimple patch on your face. (Weird comparison, I know lol). The salmon itself wasn't that great quality. I have been to many sushi restaurants and when ordering a sushi roll that had salmon on top, it was fattier, and fresher. Another area for improvement is the menu itself. When I was deciding on what to order, the photo on the menu for the Lemon Killer Roll shows it has tobiko on top, but the description of the roll doesn't mention any tobiko. I was pretty bummed that it actually came out with no tobiko. I understand that the menu says food presentation may vary or subject to change, but the photo should still be an accurate representation of what I'm actually ordering and what I'm actually going to get. Otherwise, without the tobiko, the roll should've been a little cheaper. The San Mateo Roll has: Unagi & avocado over soft shell crab, cucumber roll w/unagi sauce -this roll reminds me of Rock n' Roll, but it has soft shell crab. I really enjoyed this roll. All the ingredients really go well together. The unagi wasn't fishy at all. The Penthouse Roll has: Cooked shrimp & tempura bits over shrimp tempura, cucumber roll w/unagi sauce The Dragon Roll has: Unagi & avocado over shrimp tempura, cucumber roll w/unagi sauce What I also appreciate and enjoyed about all of these rolls is that the rice wasn't too hard, and the rolls did not fall apart. They were nicely made in terms of the rolling process. It was only the California roll that the pieces could have been cut smaller. They were very thick. Oh, and they have really good sushi ginger here and free tea! It's like a roasted rice tea. Very comforting for this cold weather! Overall, I had a very pleasant experience and would love to come back again. My husband really enjoyed it too!
Came here around midnight with a friend because we were starving and there isn't too many places open late night, which is a huge plus in my book. It was pretty empty, but there were a few others also dining in. Food was delicious and definitely hit the spot. My favorite dish was the vegetable croquettes and my friend loved the spider rolls. The ambiance was nice and they played Japanese and Korean music throughout the night. Definitely would come back and try their drinks next time. Servers were friendly.
Went at 10pm so only one server serving 5 to 7 tables. Each table was also 3+. We were a party of 4 so I think they should add one more server on the floor. The food was average but wasn't pricey so i think it was expected. Great place for a late night as there is ample space and server gives you time to chat and chill. You can pick table or sushi bar for seating. Host was super nice and same with sushi chef at the front. I'll most likely come back again.
This place a pretty extensive combo sushi menu. Everything we had was fine. The combo tempura appetizer was a bit "light" for the price of admission. Service was very attentive and knowledgeable. I recommend listening very intently when the server is speaking as I had a hard time understanding her on some occasions.

Upon arrival a liI after midnight it was self seating. A good amount of seating but I can see there being a wait or line during peak hours because it's not very big. I got the chicken udon and agedashi. Great portions and the food was tasty. I would definitely come here again
After a late night movie, we needed some food to fill outlr tummy up. They are located right across the street from a casino, so the restaurants open up late. This restaurant has both Japanese and Korean food. We decided to choose seafood combination tofu soup, beef bimp bop and California roll sushi. The seafood combination tofu soup was ok. It had 3 pieces of clam, 1 shrimp, 1 squid and diced onions, and diced cucumbers. It didn't have the spice levels like most other tofu soup places. They also offered 4 different sides. They had bean sprouts, kimchii, broccoli, and spicy tofu. I love their menu. It's nicely organized and separated by each category from appetizers to rice, soup, sushi and hand rolls. I will definitely come back to try more sushi. The unagi and the caterpillar rolls. The pictures are all colorful and with the descriptions of the different ingredients used.
Deliciously, fresh, and friendly service. There's a bit of a wait with only one server and one chef but believe me it was worth the wait. If you land at SFO and everything is closed this is the perfect place to go. Tea is served automatically upon being seated. Moving forward I will be stopping here everytime I land...
Service: 2/5 Food quality: 2.5/5 I really wanted to like this place but I honestly couldn't as I only like two things that we ordered from their menu... this place is a combo of Japanese and Korean food. We opted for Japanese food since we wanted some quick sushi fix after a long day out. Walking into the restaurant, I saw maybe roughly 4/5 workers. The host was also a server and I can tell she was extremely stressed. We told her we were a group of 4 dining in and she told us to wait to let her finish seating another group and she ended up forgetting about us cuz we were probably standing there for a good 10 mins. She ended up helping a customer take an takeout order who came in after us. Once we finally got seated, I decided to add all my friends order on a notes app to just help ordering faster. No one pays attention to tables who were ready to order. I think the servers here really lack paying attention to the surroundings. There were maybe 5 tables including us and a big party and my group didn't order yet. I raised my hand and made eye contact and seemed like she avoided me a lot. When I finally got her attention, I told her we are ready to order and all she said was "wait..." as in wait until she's down doing all these other tasks before she gets to us. I'm sure she's a nice person but the customer service here really deteriorated our group. As our food came out, she forgot to bring out the bento box combo we ordered so my friend asked about it. She came back and confirm the order but when the bento box came out, one of the items were wrong and we were so tired at this point, we weren't gonna ask her to remake it. (She was nice to bring us desserts as an apology which we didn't expect) Now let's move on to the food... honestly everything was okay. The rice wasn't the best cuz it was over cooked/soggy. The quality of the fish wasn't the best. I took a bite of the salmon and it tasted like it wasn't fresh. What I liked was probably the tempura udon we got and then the California roll (I know, out of all the things... why this?) I always love ordering from here late night because they close at 2am. They're right across from Artichoke Joes Casino and their food is always on point. I think the only downfall for me was how expensive the add on was for the jalepeno $2.30. I can buy a 10oz bag of 5 jalepenos from target for $1.79, which i will certainly do next time. The food was good as usual Lemon Killer, unagi, and dragon roll. The baked mussels are always my #1

You HAVE to come here to try their house Kimchi. I ordered their beef soft tofu soup and bulgogi bun. Everything tastes so good. The place has a nice cozy atmosphere and the service is superb. Daniel has been so kind and accommodating. Above all, I LOVE their house kimchi. read more

A nice and quaint sushi place for late night eats. (They open until 2am!) We noticed they still had chefs working behind the counter still making sushi this late. How cool. The menu is pretty standard. You got your usual sashimi choices, appetizers, bentos and noodles. We all were feeling rolls so we decided to select a few to try them out. They all tasted great, good position for the price I will add (most items were $15). On one of the rolls the tempura flakes sprinkled on top were stale so that wasn't too great. Probably left out from the long work day. Other than that the flavors were good and worth it price wise for the portions. Service was standard. Ambiance is cozy. Next time I'll come here I'll try the some items from the Korean menu and try a bento option. read more

As much as I would like to give more stars because their sushi is pretty good (Gangnam Style!) their customer service is very inconvenient sometimes. When ordering takeout of 2-3 items, let's say with friends. They combine everyone's food in one or two large containers. When they have the small containers. And even when asking them to put it all separate, you have to constantly check and make sure they do. And check if they even put chop sticks and soy sauce on the side. It's basic things but always have to check! I don't understand the difficulty of why they don't. I had to buy some of my own just in case because more than three times there wasn't enough for the order. read more

They take orders for takeout but often don't start making the order till you arrive, which sort of defeats the purpose of takeout. Also seem to literally do whatever they can to not give you extra Unagi sauce, even if you are fine with a charge. on one occasion they gave me an extra soy sauce instead and said it was hanging so of course I didn't notice till I was back home. on another occasion I literally watched the sushi chef guy basically scold the girl for getting the 4oz container instead of the 2oz container despite me asking for extra. mind you, they don't even fill the 2oz, they fill it about 1/4 of the way. on a 3rd occasion, the same sushi chef guy pulled the extra container out. I don't know if they just don't make enough, or have some sort of issue with parting with it, but being charged and lied to about it is beyond annoying. read more
Like to be honest, this place is not bad whatsoever. I'm giving it a higher rating because all the workers were friendly and hard working, only two servers and a full restaurant. They're open late and the food wasn't terrible. Decent quality on the food and everything tasted alright. There wasn't a dish that tasted bad, or a dish that was amazing but everything was solid. read more
Great fresh sushi. Been here a few times and it's been delicious everytime. I've tried quite a few different items from their Bento box to their signature sushi and haven't been disappointed. Prices are average as far as sushi restaurants go. Large indoor seating is available as well as along the sushi bar. Give them a try if your in the area. read more

Who doesn't want to have sushi on the first day of the new year? Our New Years Day menu consisted of the following: Combination Tempura - the dipping sauce contains ginger....just an FYI. Hot Sake - Large of course.....next time we will go for a specific sake. Good but Miso Soup Golden Gate Bridge Roll Narauto Roll Tango Roll Food was good. Crazy busy with take out orders, but only a few folks eating in, we were one of them. Service was slow but only one nice lady running around. Two chefs behind the bar busy making sushi! We normally order take out from here too but we decided to walk to dinner. read more

Open late night till 2am. Where else could you find sushi at that hour that's decent and Nicely priced? The salmon Lover roll $13 - not bad Original tofu soup - don't recommend if you like them from the transitional restaurants. It's full of tofu, seems like made for powder, hardly any meat, and overall kinda flavorless read more

We've been wanting to try this place out and here we are. We ordered the Ninja Chicken Wings, Seafood Tofu Soup, Sashimi Combo C and Bento Box. The sashimi was fresh and delicious. The Tofu soup needed to be spicier. All the food was pretty good. We need to come back to try other items. Service was a bit slow in the beginning. The place wasn't busy for a Saturday night. The restaurant is located across the street from Artichoke Joe's. There is street parking and public parking lot. read more
