    Soy garlic chicken

Bb.q chicken is a popular chain Korean fried chicken joint located inside a strip mall in San Bruno. Inside, you find a number of seats available for sitting if you choose. You pick your chicken, whether with bone or boneless, and your choice of sauce with of course has a Korean bent, such as Gangnam, spicy Galbi, cheese, honey garlic, etc. We tried the soy garlic chicken today. Overall, the chickens were on the smaller size compared to some other Korean fried chicken places. The chicken was crunchy indeed like Korean fried chicken should be but I didn't find the chicken stand out from others. The chickens were kind of dry inside. The sauce was decent. Moreover, the price for six pieces was $18, a bit on the expensive side. Given how average these Korean chicken wings were, I didn't find that they offered good value for your money.

My friend ordered the boneless wings, and they were good. Just be prepared for a long wait. Unfortunately, I had a disappointing experience with my own order. It appears my food was never made and was somehow lost, despite there only being three or four dine-in customers at the time. After my friend received his meal and another customer who ordered after me was served, it became clear that my order had been overlooked. The lady employee was apologetic and searched for my order, which I appreciated. However, after already waiting so long, I didn't want to wait for my meal to be remade, so I requested a refund. I was given a receipt and told the order had been voided, but the refund process wasn't clearly explained, so I'm hoping it is processed without any issues. One additional area for improvement would be the restaurant environment. There was a noticeable mildew or mold-like odor, and the bathroom lighting was extremely dim. I understand that mistakes can happen, but better order tracking, clearer communication about refunds, and improvements to the facility would make for a much better customer experience.

Good fried chicken. Glad we finally came to bb.q chicken. The chicken was fresh, juicy, and fried with the right amount of crispness. Order at the cashier and select a whole chicken, bones chicken or wings. Choose your size for S, M or L. Then choose your flavor and spices. We chose a small order of original wings, fried dumplings filled with pork & cabbage, and a side of coleslaw. The orders each came with a small container of picked radish/daikon which was refreshing and good. The creamy coleslaw was also a good complement to the fried foods. The chicken was very good and we will be back to try other flavors. The dumplings had good flavor and was good sized serving. T Ample parking in the lot. The restaurant is small but clean and service was decent. The decor of the place a a bit drab and had an odd odor of new paper products.

The chicken is crispy and hot. It's still hot when I bring it home. I prefer them over Bonchon. They have weekday lunch specials that include a drink and a box of chicken and fries. It's enough for two to share. Service is ok. Not the friendliest but they got the order right. There's seats in the dining room but it looks like people just do take out.

Chicken is lip smackin good. Perfectly fried to crispy perfection, juicy, tender, and flavorful. The wings were hot and fresh. The crust is just the right amount of flaky and airy bits of crisp. The plain is very tasty, it does not need sauce.

Original - can't really go wrong with these. They are juicy and the crust is crunchy Soy garlic - enjoyed the garlicy flavor and these sticky wings maintained its crunch Galbi boneless- a little too saucy for like liking. Smoky flavor A little expensive, but still good food overall. Staff is nice as well

Was craving some Korean fried chicken and this chain is one of the best in my opinion for sizable, affordable, and tasty Korean fried chicken. This location had about five booths or so, which is ample seating for the location. Ordering was simple and the chicken is made fresh so expect to wait. They have a water station next to the cashier, which was a nice touch. We ordered two smalls for our small family of three, which was more than enough food. I wish they had more options when it comes to greens so the meal is a little bit more balanced. Soy garlic chicken: great go too if you have little ones that don't eat a lot of spice. This does have a very small kick to it so it's not completely not spicy for those who cannot handle spice at all. Secret sauce chicken: I like this much more than I thought I would. It was sweet and just the right amount of spicy for those who like spice but still want to taste their food.

Crispy, flavorful Korean fried chicken that definitely hits the spot--especially the cheesling and garlic flavors. The texture is consistently crunchy and juicy, and the sauces are solid across the board. Perfect stop while charging at the Tesla Supercharger in the parking lot.

Service 10/10 Food 10/10 Cleanliness 10/10 My family and I were greeted warmly right away by the cashier. This was our first time at this l location so we were not familiar with the menu. The cashier kindly guided us through the menu and gave us some recommendations. We decided on the Gangnam Style boneless chicken, Wings of Fire, onion rings and the fried dumplings. The Gangnam style was delicious and the jalapeños added the perfect amount of heat. The Wings of Fire were incredibly spicy, almost inedible but kept you coming back for more, they were so good! The sides were perfect filler for the meal as well. Everything fresh and service was quick. Will be coming back soon. Thanks staff.

I have been hunting for a good wing place and i finally found it. Juicy, light breading, the spice wasn't overpowering, and it was tasty! I will say the wings were on the smaller side but i still love it. I definitely want to get a different flavor next time! If you're super hungry and you are a party of two, the 8pc ain't enough! The service was good and there was seating inside!

We first had bb.q Chicken when we were in Hawaii. We liked it a lot, so we were excited to learn there was one in San Bruno. Ordered some for pickup on a Friday and it took about 25 minutes for our wings to be ready. Ordered both the Honey Garlic and Cheesling wings. These are best eaten when fresh and hot. Like both flavors, although the cheesling flavor was the favorite within our family. Note - Caution if there is a nut allergy as the chicken batter includes nuts.

My kids found this place as we were in San Bruno tonight and it did not disappoint The restaurant is clean and it's in a really nice plaza with some other cool businesses. The layout is very modern and organized. The wall art and decor was nice as well. We ordered soy sauce, chicken, and galbi chicken and the rose teoboki The chicken was fantastic. Both were full of flavor cooked to perfection and the portions were massive. We ordered the size small and came home with leftovers. The galbi flavor was sweet, tangy and savory The teobiki (make sure you add cheese) was Rich and creamy and spicy. The cheese was bountiful, and all the flavors blended well. Everything we had was great. The price was reasonable and portions were very large. Definitely a place I will come back to again.

Bbq chicken may be known for its chicken, but I really like the rose tteokbokki! It's not too spicy with the cheese added and the flavor is really good! They definitely give you a generous amount of cheese as well. I just wish it had more fishcakes in it. The Honey Garlic Wings were good as well! The flavor was not too sweet nor savory. These non-spicy wings balance out with the spicy rose tteokbokki.

Our server was a ajumma with a Korean accent, and I instantly felt like this place is authentically Korean, even to Koreans. Service is very quick even when busy, and the banchan comes out after you place your order. I came at 6PM on a Sunday and the restaurant had a few tables open. They can fill up quick, and appears to accommodate large parties by moving tables together. This is one of the few places I've been where they serve a fried mackerel with banchan iykyk. I ordered a Kimchi Jjim and seafood pancake. First off, their portions are large and their tables are small, so i found myself organizing our small table for two considering the banchan, water, bowls, rice, and main courses. The Kimchi Jjim was amazing - a good kick of flavorful and is not too spicy. They cut the kimchi after bringing the soup, just like how they do it in Korea. There was a lot of pork and substance in the soup, and it felt of really good value given how much you need to prepare to make a bowl of it. The seafood pancake was also a hit, but I recommend ordering and sharing amongst 4 people. It's a little oily, but the seafood taste and substance are not skimped on. It tasted freshly fried given how crispy it was, and was overall an enjoyable dish. With prices and portions in balance, it's no wonder this is one of the few places with a line out the door around 6:30PM on a Sunday. Given how many Koreans came here, I wouldn't doubt that this place falls any short of authentic Korean food. If you're a fan of Korean food and some lesser known Korean dishes, then you're in for a treat. Make sure to come early to avoid the wait, since the restaurant is a little small and spots can fill up quick.

Customary at most Vietnamese restaurants, you get your food with minimal check ins and not even a plate clearing until the bill comes. This was NOT the case here. There service was definitely in the A/A+ range! I ordered on my phone via QR code, but there was an option to order in person from a server. I ordered many items to try out. I ordered spring rolls, crispy salt and pepper wings, grilled pork banh mi, beef dac beit pho, and a Thai iced tea. Thai Iced Tea was pretty good. Grade: A I thought the Spring Rolls were decent, but what made them even better was the peanut sauce! I always hate when the peanut sauce is watery and this was far from that! An excellent gooey peanut sauce and maybe one of the best I've had fpr consistency. Grade: A- Crispy salt and pepper wings definitely had an incredible crunch. They were up there in crunchiness. The drumettes were meaty which I appreciated. They were well seasoned also. I think I need to try their other wings before crowning these, but some of the cruncheist wings I've had for sure. Grade: A- Beef Dac Biet Pho had some real high quality meat in it. I had options in noodle and my go-to for any pho spot is the egg noodles. I wish it had more bo vien in it, but I appreciated the combo of meats. The broth seemed authentic, but I wanted a tad more flavor out of it without adding sauces. Overall, the pho grade was a B+ bordering an A-. The star of the show was the grilled pork banh mi. The meat was tender and saucy. In fairness I asked for extra pickles and mayo, but I was very impressed. The bread had the crispy crunch we all look for but minus the stale bread. The breads soft yet crispness made it seem as if it just came out of the oven! I'm going to dub this as the best I've had in the Bay Area! There I said it! Grade: A+ Everyone who ordered the sampler seemed very pleased at other tables, I would definitely try that. Also, want to try the other banh mis and noodle options for the pho. There was a nice vibe at this place. I didn't feel rushed although they do close fairly early at 8pm. The server's mom is the one cooking in the kitchen and I appreciated the family feeling at this place. They do have a newer location in San Francisco that has a DJ Friday nights that I may check out. I believe the server said that they are open til 2am on most nights, but I may have misheard her. Feel free to Yelp that location. My only disappointment was that I really love papaya salad and it was not an option. I may make this my go-to spot from now on, but as a Yelper, we all know we will keep trying new places. This will be the one I continue to frequent. Well done Pho de Nguyen!

My friends and I came here for dinner on a Friday evening. Parking here is pretty tough with a…read moresmall amount of parking in front of the restaurant and street parking. We were seated soon after arrival. Food: I ordered the mushroom vegetarian tofu soup. It was very good. The spice might have been too much for me, but that's on me for ordering spicy! Still, it was very good. We also ordered some japchae to share. It was a good portion and good. Service: Service was quick and easy. Servers were ready when you called someone over. Food came out very quickly. TL;DR - Pretty good tofu shop with quick service, but difficult parking

We usually go to the South San Francisco location, but since we were in the area, we decided to…read moregive this one a try. I asked the owner if it was the same ownership as the South San Francisco restaurant, and he told me that location belongs to his brother. One thing I noticed right away was that everything came out at once. Most Korean restaurants serve tea and banchan (side dishes) first, followed by the main dishes later. Personally, I loved that everything arrived together because it made for a beautiful presentation and allowed me to take great photos of the entire meal. The meal came with eight side dishes: fresh greens, soybean sprouts, potatoes, fried tofu, fish cake, kimchi radish, kimchi cabbage, and seaweed. The variety was impressive, and each dish was well prepared. For our main dishes, we ordered the Galbi (L), Bulgogi (L), Seafood & Green Onion Pancake, and Cold Noodles. The galbi and bulgogi were both perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful. They were well balanced, not too salty and not too sweet. The seafood pancake was a standout. It was wonderfully crispy with plenty of seafood. My only suggestion would be for the dipping sauce. It tasted a little too light for my preference. A sauce with more spice and a touch of sweetness and savoriness would make it even better. The cold noodles were decent, but the broth portion was a bit small, and the flavor was somewhat bland compared to the other dishes. As for the side dishes, the fried tofu was my favorite. The potatoes were delicious with a tasty sauce, and the greens were fresh and crisp. Overall, we had a great experience. The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and the presentation was great. :)
