One of our favorite Korean restaurants! Food is delicious! We always order the kalbi, bulgogi, tofu soup, chicken wings & seafood pancake!! Good portions and good prices! Great for sharing. Place is cozy and the Service is warm and friendly! A+++

I stopped by Mom's Tofu for a quick meal with my mom- we ordered beef sundubu, japchae, and bulgogi. The banchan is really good here and they offer a decent selection! The japchae is really good and has a decent amount of veggies in it. Bulgogi quality of meat and the marinade is really good too! The sundubu was just okay to me- I would say the broth isn't as flavorful as I am necessarily used to (maybe just less MSG/sodium) and there was no egg to crack into it! Really cute and homey Korean spot that I would recommend to anyone who finds themselves in the Millbrae area.

I was so excited to review this place and did not realize the majority ratings are 3 out of 5 stars! We usually go to the location on Grand Avenue in South San Francisco, and didn't realize this was part of the franchise. Respectfully, we prefer this location now over the SSF location which was our go to, not that it was bad. I personally feel the quality at this location is a bit more different in the best way possible. *What we ordered: S2. Dombe Noodles (Pork bone broth, slices of pork, noodles) H3. Budae jjigae (Army stew) A4. Kimchi Pancake FOOD: 9/10 The quality of food and ban chan/side dishes were so good and fresh!! The Dombe noodle dish had such a clean taste, with soft al dente noodles, and did not skimp on slices of tender pork. The budae jjigae was flavorful and had an even ratio of the army stew components. The kimchi pancake was fried to perfection and did not taste like raw batter. The ban chan was flavorful, seasoned to perfection and tasted fresh. I was so skeptical on the kimchi and kkaddugi (radish kimchi) were going to taste funky and it did not! We were also served complimentary barley tea which SSF location does not do. What shocked me the most is we were served complimentary Tofu salad which was SO GOOD. At the SSF location, this would have been a dish to pay for. I wished this Milbrae location would serve the complimentary Sikhye (Rice punch), at the end of the meal like the SSF location. SERVICE: 10/10 Service from the staff member who was serving all the tables on his own was friendly and very attentive! AMBIANCE: 9/10 The restaurant was spacious and clean. The dishes they used were so cute and aesthetically pleasing. The bathroom was decently clean/well-kept. Parking was easy and there is a variety of parking.

Even though it has never been the most popular or trendiest Korean restaurant around, Mom's Tofu House has been on my list of places to try for quite some time. Whether it be from real life friends, fellow Yelpers, or even old coworkers, I had heard nothing but positive things about the their original spot in South San Francisco. Solid food, fair prices, homely vibes...pretty much just living up to their name! So, despite how it wasn't the same location, this seemed like the perfect choice for dinner when we were out on a particularly cold night in Millbrae! Now, while I can't say how this Mom's Tofu House compares to the ones in South San Francisco and Fremont, what I can say is that it's surprisingly cozy and spacious. From the outside, this restaurant doesn't look all that big, but it actually has a good amount of seating for groups both large and small. As for the menu, it looks like it's been updated somewhat recently (the design of the menu is different in the older photos), but their offerings seem to be largely the same. Along with your typical assortment of appetizers, they also have a mix of soups, BBQ meats, bibimbaps (both stone pot and cold), soups, and a handful of more unique entrees, like Bossam, Bulgogi Ddukbokki, and Budae Jjigae(!). -- BANCHAN On the whole, these were great. In particular, I LOVE their fish cakes and their rapeseed and bean sprouts are really good as well. However, I didn't love the radish and their kimchi, as awesome as it looked, was especially sour, even by kimchi standards. -- HAEMUL PAJEON - Seafood & Green Onion Pancake...$22 Compared to most others I've had, as well as in many of the photos, this looked really, really dark (though, I didn't mind the crispiness). That said, my bigger complaint was how this didn't seem to have much seafood or green onion in it, especially considering how you get a fairly decent amount. -- GOON MAN DO - Pan Fried Pork Dumplings...$11 Meh...this was nothing special. The portion size was lighter than I thought it'd be, but it's not like I was dying for more of this. I don't know if they actually are, but these tasted like the frozen mando you see at Korean markets. Plus, they were deep fried rather than pan fried. -- SPECIAL COMBO #G1 - GALBI & COMBO SOFT TOFU SOUP...$39 All in all, this wasn't too shabby. Although a couple of the pieces of Galbi were on the small side, the cuts were still thick and meaty. As for the tofu soup, it could've used a bit more seafood and spice (our fault for getting it mild), but the soup had a nice consistency and flavor to it. -- BUDAE JJIGAE- Korean Army Stew...$22 I came back just for this and, while not as tasty as my favorite, it was still pretty good. Oddly, it wasn't bubbling when it came out, but it was piping hot and had a lot of sausage, ramen, spam, and rice cakes. Also, as with the soup, I liked the consistency of the stew, but the kimchi added a sourness I didn't care for. As seemingly uneven as the food wasn, the service was decidedly steady (in a positive way). Both times I was here, the servers were friendly and they get orders out fast. However, it also makes me wish that much more that what we tried had been tastier. Nothing we had was all that bad (other than their Goon Man Do), but most things didn't impress much either, save for their Budae Jjigae. Considering Mom's Tofu House is one of the only places I know of that offers the latter in an individual portion, I'll inevitably be back to get it again. I just wish it wasn't the only thing that won me over, given all of the good things I had heard.

One of the only Korean spots in Millbrae! They're a mom & pop shop with a good amount of seating and they usually close at 9PM which is considered late for Millbrae. My family got the D2 Special Combo with Bulgogi + Tofu soup and A2 Seafood & Green Onion Pancake. The pancake was crispy and on the thicker side but the Bulgogi + Tofu soup were alright. The meat quality was just average. Banchan was normal. Service was whatever; they were very shocked to find out that we only ordered 2 items for 3 people but one was a combo and was ample food for us. They were pushing us to order more.

Mom's House is one of the only Korean restaurants amidst the sea of Chinese restaurants in Millbrae. They seemed to focus on tofu prior to a recent rebranding, and now they mainly have standard Korean offerings. You are started off with complimentary barley tea and six banchan dishes, which tasted of healthy and humble deliciousness. - Dombe Noodles I was hugely disappointed because it literally tastes like Pulmuone Tonkotsu Miso Ramen with altered/bland broth. Like, down to the pork slices and ramen noodles same. Thus, the noodles had zero chew, were super flimsy and slippery, and just made me sad. The amount of pork they give is alright and in thin slices, but I was really unsatisfied with it tasting like the pork from the packaged ramen I buy from Costco. They give a container of salt and pepper and some sliced chives with it. - Half Yang Nyum & Half Fried Chicken It was hot and tender inside and had a nice hard crunch, but it's really expensive fried wings. It's just a mixture of plain fried wings and a sauce that tastes similar to sweet and sour. - Daiji Bulgogi+Tofu Soup (mild, beef) The special combo is a decent deal, though the portions for each are small. We initially wanted their lunch portion, but their lunch is only from 11-2:30pm Monday to Friday, and we were a few minutes late! The daiji bulgogi could have used some char, and I wish the floppy onion slices were more cooked. The small bowl of tofu soup was good, with nice silky tofu; mild spicy was adequate and you have a choice between beef, pork, chicken, seafood, tofu, kimchi, or dumpling tofu soup with no upcharge which I thought was nice. You can choose between white or purple rice too! Our meal was okay, but for the price we felt the value wasn't there. I especially question the dombe noodles since it just tasted like an extreme markup of package ramen. I'm sorry to say, but it's not a place I'd try again.

The service was very quick and the food is delicious. The dishes were piping hot when it arrived and the water was so refreshingly cold. I will definitely be visiting again when I have the chance, I am a fan!

Idk why this spot is listed at 3/5 stars, definitely deserves more! - Service 5/5--everyone is always super nice and attentive - Quality 5/5--the food stays consistent here, kalbi and tofu soups always smackin! - Ambiance--everything you'd expect from a mom&pop shop, no frills just good food and vibes! Recommend to anyone who wants a quick and delicious meal!

A couple notes: they use MSG and gluten in most dishes including in the vegetables/kimchi. We were craving some warm, comfort food on a quote a day. I was able to order the Galbi (c1) with glass noodles and rice. The waitress seemed to take my request for MSG free/gluten-free food seriously, and even checked on me on the way out just to make sure I felt okay (I tend to have some weird response to food with MSG). Once we ordered the food, it arrived very quickly. The indoor vibe and seating is very casual. It's a small little place, with not a ton of menu options, but I will say my short ribs were exquisite. The flavor of the glass noodles was on point too. my coworkers ordered the Ramen, the pork hot stone, and the G2 bibimbab and were all pleased with the flavors of their dishes.

Great go-to Korean food in Millbrae. Servers are nice, and the food is good. Particularly like the seafood and vegetable pancakes (would suggest making it even crispier) and the seafood tofu soup. Not as big of a fan of the fried chicken as the meat lacked a bit of flavor for me, but the flavor of galbi was good! As always, banchan is great.

Warning ahead: bug in meal. Ordered takeout from this restaurant a couple times. I tried their bibimbap and soondubu. Food was usually either too salty or bland (or both). Banchan was the tastier part of the meals and tasted homemade. This recent experience steered me away from this place for good though. I found a maggot pupae either in the kimchi banchan or the tofu soup- I had mixed both together. I found it floating in my soup and it's too big to be a rice grain (I got white rice) or sesame seed. The tofu soup also only had tofu and beef along. I inspected it and plugged it into Google Lens, yes, it's a pupae of some sort of bug. I had to throw out the meal feeling uneasy about the cleanliness of its preparation. In a time where local mom n pops are slowly fading out, I cautiously write reviews because it's understandable restaurants can have good and bad days. However with the consistent mediocre food and high prices combined with unsanitary food preparation, I sadly do not recommend this place. There are much better and affordable alternatives.

If you're coming here expecting tofu dishes and soodubu, note that this has been rebranded and is just Mom's House now (no tofu!) with a focus on kbbq dishes. Must say we came in with that expectation, was disappointed, but all was well after all the delicious food that was served! The seafood pancake was perhaps the most crunchy and delicious ones I've had in the bay. They came out steaming hot and it was very good. We also got the beef bibimbap which was very good with a large variety of vegetables, and the dombe noodles, which was also very generous with the amount of pork they give. The broth was wonderful, as it was not too rich, but served as a great conduit of flavour for the dish. The serving sizes were also very generous so definitely don't order too much! Besides the expectations coming in and a little opposite from our waitress who forgot to give us menus for a while, we had a great experience, and would not sleep on it just because they don't serve tofu anymore!

I love Mom's Tofu in South San Francisco so I was so excited when I saw they have one here! Close to the airport so it would be the perfect meal after a trip. My favorites were the Pork Soup with Noodles, Galbi, and Seafood Pancake! I've been wanting pork soup since I saw it in the korean drama, Marry My Husband. The broth was clean and flavorful, and I would 10/10 order it again. The waiter also gave us a variety of things to try putting in the soup - some shrimp paste, some kind of powder, and chives. I liked it plain :) The Galbi was flavorful and fell off the bone nicely! Seafood Pancake was also very yummy and they were generous with the portions! My boyfriend doesn't like seafood but he there's something about seafood pancake that is so yummy. Mom's Tofu House's batter and the sauce is so good!
