I came for dining shortly after they opened in the afternoon on a Saturday or Friday. The staff was playing trendy music, probably some pop station on the radio, and speaking Chinese to each other when I walked in. They were also talking it up with some one who was waiting for a to-go order. I dined in with two rolls, which ran me about $18 and change. Just water, no tea, no miso, and two rolls that had some fairly loose wrapped fillings. Out of the 12 pieces I think 5 of them fell apart as I was lifting them to my mouth. That is not right. Piece of avocado & a piece of scallop fell onto my shirt. I guess I needed to do laundry anyways. Perhaps it was because I was sitting in the sun? I don't know for it to happen ~50% of the time I rate that as poor rolling. The taste was great! Service was pretty mediocre. 15 minute wait from order to my table (I was the only person dining in). No check in about the meal, no "how are you today?", no refill on water, and no tip provided as a result. This is my go to spot because 1) I always order the same thing and love it. delicious items include sesame chicken and salad dressing, decent items include ca rolls, miso soup, shrimp tempura, and not for me includes chicken teriyaki. 2) it is CHEAP and they offer a free order of CA roll if you dine out with an order of at least $25. They upgrade the roll depending on your bill. 3) friendly staff. I've dined in maybe 4 times but have ordered out much more. The times I have dined in I've noticed they know majority of their customers well enough for lengthly conversations and catch ups. 4) Place itself is usually never busy and I've never had to wait for a table. 5) I've always found parking right in front as well. I've ordered from Ocean Fish Sushi & Grill a few times - mostly online and once for dine in. My dine in experience was positive - flavorful udon and quick service. Keep in mind that the seating inside is limited. You may be waiting awhile if you come with a big party on the weekend. My online ordering experience has been generally positive. Their estimated pick up time can be long, I've arrived around the estimated pick up time just to wait for 10-15 minutes more. Other times, they're right on time. I often order their rolls, bento dinner box, and udon. Chicken teriyaki is flavorful, miso is enjoyable and not too salty, and no complaints about the rolls (tuna, shrimp tempura, cucumber). Overall, their food is good for the price! It's not the best I've tried but it's one of the more affordable spots in Pacifica. My group of 6 came here on a Saturday night around 6PM and we ordered a variety of things: Hokkaido Winter Roll - $19, Show Me the Money Roll - $14, Double Hamachi Roll - $18, Sashimi Special - $31, Bento Dinner Combo with 3 items (tempura, California roll, and katsu) - $21, Hamachi Kama - $19. While portions were good, rice was mushy, rolls were falling apart when you picked up a piece, and fish wasn't fresh. They did give us a free roll though! I've been coming to Ocean Fish for many years but the last couple of times I've been disappointed. The last visit things were left out of my take-out order only discovered when I got home. This visit my shrimp tempura was terrible, the batter too thick and tasted burned, some of the veggies were actually burned. My spicy tuna roll tasted mushy and to make matters worse they WiFi was down so they couldn't run the order and I had to wait for 15 -20 minutes while they reset their system. They didn't try a reset right away so now I had cold tempura but the time I got home. I wondered if they have changed cooks. I think I'll drive a little farther to get tempura that is light and fluffy. So sad about Ocean Fish. read more

It's good that most of the rolls use immitation crab meat because I would not trust the raw fish here. "Tataki" was a mess of cooked fish, avo, and mango bits drenched in teriyaki sauce inside an iceberg lettuce leaf. Fried rolls were hard nuggets deep-fried to hell. Lady is usually the host, waitress, busboy, and register. We usually sit away from the window next to the wall as in summer time gets direct sun and very hot. It can't be easy for businesses on this side of the hill because it's off the beaten path for most people along the east side of the peninsula. This restaurant has been here for years but for some reason I never went in. I love Bento Boxes and especially OFS&G's 3 item Bento. I get the chicken teriyaki, California rolls and mixed tempura. All very delicious. The chicken teriyaki could use just a little more teriyaki sauce, but it's all tasty. Besides the 3 item choices, the box comes with a salad and rice. Tasty and reasonably priced, especially given there are either two or three pieces of shrimp in the mixed tempura. I think I've been 4 times now in the past week and a half. Can't believe I didn't try this place sooner. I haven't eaten in -I order directly from their website then drop by to pick up -but during dinner it's usually got a good number of people there. PSA: The waitresses/hostesses want you to call in your order when you've already made your purchase through their restaurant website's online ordering. Make sure to spend extra effort in doing both if you want to confirm your order to goes through, especially if you have a party to cater and you make your order days in advance. Tldr; food was mid but customer service skills need major improvement. Long story- I made an online order for their sushi party trays to have it picked up at 4:30 pm a few days in advance. When I get there on pick up day, they didn't have my order. I provided them the order confirmation and proof of payment. One of the hostesses and chef say they ran out of rice "yesterday" and that it would take 30 minutes. Ughh... not sure what running out of rice yesterday has to do with rice today since the restaurant is open for lunch today. OK fine... my friend and I wait 20ish minutes and browse around Ace Hardware next door. Come back to the restaurant and was told to sit at a table. I ask if we can be compensated for waiting those 30 minutes (had my daughter's birthday party which started at 5 pm so was late) with two orders of edamame. I didn't think it was a "big ask" since I spent over $166 for the 152 piece special. The edamame should be prepared already and only worth $8 total ($4 per order), which means it must cost them a fraction of that. Instead of demonstrating strong customer service skills to retain a potential customer, I was given attitude by two waitresses/hostesses. Basically they were blaming me for not ordering properly. One of them had the audacity to say "if you (I as the customer) want to make sure your order goes through, then you should give them a phone call after you place an order through the online system." Ummm.... no. I told them it wasn't my fault that their own restaurant's backend system didn't send them my order, which once again, I received a confirmation order and paid via credit card. They need to check themselves, not place the blame on the customer and make their customers double their effort to confirm their orders goes through. Either take down your restaurant's online ordering system, fix it to ensure all orders go through, or have your customers order through Uber Eats and let that company take a portion of your sales.
