I was craving some Asian cuisine so my partner and I visited Nippon Grill and Seafood Buffet this afternoon. Upon entering we were greeted and seated by the hostess. The restaurant was fairly already busy for Saturday afternoon and the food was made fresh by the time I arrived. This is a great place for families and couples. The price for buffet attendees isn't bad especially if you come during the weekend. They also have really cute gifts/jewelry that you can buy at their counter as well. The food was ok, definitely quite a few "filler" items. The money is what is great about this buffet, it is very affordable, and is honestly a great deal for what you get. I recommend going on a weekday for lunch, least busy and least expensive. They have Pepsi and Dr Pepper products, and some stand out items were definitely the coconut chicken, and surprisingly the fried sushi. Good desert selection and the buffet overall has a much nicer and cleaner vibe than other Asian buffets I've been to. read more

Plus the worse part of it was that after being there only 20 mins they came with the check saying have a good one like if I was done eating. I felt like they were rushing me out of there place i was still hungry but after that i left and most likely won't be going back to that place. You can't beat the price and it's probably the best quality Chinese food buffet that I have been to. I think the selection is really good. Just about any item you could want is available and the quality is pretty good, like 6.5 out of 10. My only gripes: It is in a tough area, and there is a ton of cross contamination (as buffets go). It's better to get there early before the bums get there, and Im not being mean. I have seen many low class families swearing at the waitstaff, and I have also seen a few homeless people there. You should consider all the people touching the buffet utensils. Unlike a regular restaurant where employees wear gloves and wash hands, the patrons at the buffet are not held to these standards. My other gripe is the waitresses will rudely bring the bill too early before your done eating. Don't pay till your done, or they will clear out your table, even if you tell them your still eating. read more

I am not from the area but I was excited to check out this Chinese buffet on memorial Day 2024. From the outside it looked like there were plenty of seafood options however in experience I thought they were okay I did appreciate the whole fried fish pieces but the baby clams and snow crab legs look lack luster the sushi selections were pretty bad especially what I thought was supposed to be spicy tuna may have been salmon. The fresh hibachi grill seems alluring but when I saw someone's finished plate it did not look that special. I do generally love Chinese buffets and while I did have a good time here this did not match my personal expectations for a good Chinese buffet and I will seek other options. read more

Cockroaches. Came to visit from out of state. Back in the day when it was old country buffet, it was the spot to go. I decided to try it with my Granddaughter and Daughter. HORRIBLE PLACE, DO NOT EAT HERE. Went in and they instantly had a bad vibe. The waitress didn't give a F about anything we said or wanted. The food tasted terrible and the drinks took a long time to arrive. When you're done and want to pay, they instantly put in a %15 tip onto the check without you even asking or putting it in yourself. The bathrooms smelt terrible some of the stalls still had poo stains on them, clearly they don't clean them. Awesome buffet with a generous assortment of food. We went for the first time on a Saturday afternoon around 3pm and were surprised to see the amount of sushi prepared. The buffets I've been to typically skimp out and only offer a few choices with the same basic variations of ingredients for California rolls. Was happy to see sashimi here and raw salmon and tuna incorporated into different maki rolls. They were among the best I've had at a Chinese buffet, made even more amazing with the spicy mayo they serve! Seafood assortment was very fresh, from garlic shrimp, deep fried shrimp, to salmon and flounder. Kept going back for the fried shrimp! Crab rangoons were also delicious. There was a hibachi grill available and the chef was ready to take orders but we did not request anything to be made. The ice cream was also really great -- real ice cream you can scoop directly from cylinder tubs. About 8 flavors from what I recall, at least one being rainbow sherbet. I had raspberry and it was fantastic -- like right out of my favorite ice cream shop! Dessert offerings were pretty standard outside of that. Service was great and atmosphere is private enough to enjoy a meal with family without feeling too close to the table next to you. It was a very pleasant experience. Pretty solid buffet. Sushi was very basic. Be nice if they could have a little variety there. Didn't see boneless ribs, but maybe I missed them. Only ribs I saw had bones. Cheese wontons were good. Biggest surprise was an item I wouldn't normally try. The meatloaf was very good! Calling this a seafood buffet is a stretch as it didn't seem to have any more seafood than most Chinese buffets. Lunch price was 13.59, which was just a little bit higher than some comparable places. Bathrooms were clean, and the venue was pretty standard. I never go away hungry I start with the delicious sushi and then move to the regular buffet items . My favorite is the coconut chicken. The service is good they always take your plates away when you're done with one so you can take another plate and fill it up. This is good place if you like seafood buffet. Let me repeat that: This is a good place if you like SEAFOOD buffet! I'm not a seafood fan. But someone in my party liked the sushi, flounder, shrimp and clams...so their review is one of the only things preventing one star. As for the American/Chinese buffet: It sucked! The rice was dry and non-edible. The egg roll was Unchewy. The BBQ rib was slightly undercooked. The Mac and cheese had a weird taste and the French fries were DRENCHED in salt!! Ugggh. Thankfully they couldn't really ruin chicken fingers too much. The garlic bread was okay. And they had a decent selection of hard ice cream. So there are edible options. Pre-reserved a table for 25-30 people and there was zero hassle in getting reservation, arrival experience was good, and staff relatively good about clearing our plates and refilling our drinks. I'm not really a buffet person having had too many bad experiences in my younger years, and my experience today has me reconsidering my aversion to buffets, especially Asian ones. Arrived at 5pm on Saturday, and food in the warmers were consistently refreshed, and everything seemed hot and/or warm which is hard to do. The steamed/roasted fish was especially tasty, as is the coconut chicken. I had two different noodle dishes which were also good. The one thing I wish they had more of was vegetables. I'm not much of a big eater, and one of the few times at a buffet I didn't feel like I was hosed in terms of quantity vs quality vs price. Said it once will say it again, never been to a 5 star Chinese buffet, and probably never will, but Nippon was solid...during dinner rush. I went yesterday, but before yesterday I ate here many times. Their food is pretty good, it's not authentic, but they have a nice variety and it's good value for the price (they have good coupons too). However, they don't have tofu dishes in the buffet area (except for the tofu in the hot and sour soup) and I don't think you can order tofu dishes, so I think they should add tofu to their menu. Also, it was really cold out yesterday. I expect restaurants to be warm regardless of the weather outside. But it was so cold inside. I was wearing my coat while eating. They should turn up the heat/keep it warm/comfortable. But overall a good place to eat with friends and family. read more

This place is really a hit miss. We love close by and have been coming here since it opened a few years ago. When it first opened it was on fire! People coming all day and the food was great. Then they quickly went down hill all last year. Bad food, the bathrooms were disgusting. There were literally piles of dust on the stalls and trash on the floors was just part of the decoration. The flow of customers slowed to a trickle. We stopped going all together after a few too many disappointing experiences. But we decided to give them another go 2x last month and we were pleasantly surprised! The food was great again! Hot and always full. Attentive staff, cleaner area. It was worth the pretty high price for a buffet again. We will be returning again soon. Maybe new management? They have unlimited basic sushi bar, Hibachi bar, and the fruit is always fresh. They serve the best coconut chicken and waited green beans I've ever had. Their plantains are superb as well. A year ago I would have warned against them but it looks like they're making a comeback.
