I told Her Im filling out an application because the sign said they are hiring. After She snatched My applicatipn I sat down and a regular guy who orders all the time said thats how she treats people all the time and thats why they are losing people who order. I use to order all the time before and after the remodel, I couldn't get enough of it. I love the new dining room. I decided to give them another chance. For the most part the food tastes good. But I feel like the quality of the ingredients has gone down. Could be a vendor or just cheap produce and ingredients. The eggs rolls are not cooked properly, they were very greasy. I had a Dinner combo 2 - lo mein , pork fried rice and fried shrimp. Two medium shrimp pulled and stretched into a wrap in a spring roll wrap and deep fried crispy. I felt like it was wrapped in a napkin and fried. The shell should have been crispy. Undercooked. The rice and noodles looked great. Photo quality. Looked better than it tasted. The rice had an underline burned flavor. The lo mien was like a min or two over cooked. Noodles were too soft. There were two people running the front a Hispanic women and Asian women. I tried asking if they could put the rice in a separate container from the lo mien. I thought a simple enough request. But nope. I must be one of the pickiest people when it comes to legit reasonably priced Chinese food. I'm from California and after traveling to different states, California, in my opinion, still stands as the #1 best in Chinese food, aside from the burritos and street tacos. Wong Wok is definitely up there. Upon entering the restaurant, it looked really nice. We were seated immediately in a booth. We didn't wait long to order either. I ordered the egg foo young lunch plate and mushu pork. Both dishes were delicious! Very tasty. The egg foo young was perfectly made and not every Chinese restaurant makes it the same. Wong Wok made it the way I like it. Not too starchy, they added the perfect amount of bean sprouts, protein, and gravy. I enjoyed the egg drop soup as well. My boyfriend ordered the spare ribs lunch plate which is basically called bbq pork in California. Same dish, different name. As far as the service, it was perfect. Best service from a Chinese restaurant that I've had in awhile. The woman was really nice and checked on us frequently. My overall dining experience here was excellent. Can't wait to come back. This place comes fairly recommended on Google maps, so I figured why not give it a try. Let me say, I'm not quite sure what the rave is about. Yeah, it's Chinese food. But it's not out of the park 5 star food either- adjust your expectations. My wife ordered sesame chicken and I ordered general tsao (they call it general ting here). There was no difference in either dish, which I find frustrating because general tsao/ting should have a little more spice than sesame chicken. Just my opinion. read more

I ordered a combo plate on take out and very politely requested that they pack the chicken fingers separately from the rest of the meal so that they stay crispy as when in the styrofoam they tend to get soggy by the time delivery is made. Received a nasty note on receipt that said they don't do this with combo and refused to do what I the customer politely asked for. Plus many times when you order they don't pack soy sauce in which if you ask for more they charge 25 cents extra. Packing in the kitchen needs to improve and the desk people need to be more courteous. Its a shame because the food is very good but attitude is poor. They had better watch out because they could lose business all because of rudeness and not trying to please the customer. There are many, many chinese restaurants around. read more

Tonight I ordered the pu-pu platter for 2 like I always do, but for some reason they were off their game, the chicken fingers were hard and tasted old, the shrimp rolls were chewy and I also get a side order of spring rolls and they tasted like they sat in oil, they were really greasy....ruined my appetite tonight. I normally like their food, gotten take out many times and was well pleased. Went there and sat in for dinner. The service was very sketchy and inattentive. The food we ordered came totally out of order, main dish came first without the sauce and the appraisers came in later. My wife's main order came last and was not what she ordered. All the foods were greasey. They all seemed be coated with oil, even when you picked them up with your hands (egg roles,chicken fingers), slimy. The bill was not itemized, just the total. It even came to haunt me in the middle of the night, some of the worse indigestion and my stomach still feels quezzy. Wong Wok has always been my favorite Chinese restaurant. and I have tried many many different places. The reason I love it so much is because they give HUGE portions for what you pay for. Their lo mein is so unique. the taste is delicious and I haven't found a place that replicates their lo mein style. Their crab rangoons and short ribs are delicious too. The only negative I'd say is some of their chicken can be a little dry on the inside. To make up for this though, there is no other place that makes duck sauce like theirs. The Staff is RUDE AND CHEATED WITH THE BILL The waitress an older woman was so rude towards us while ordering. She throws the paper napkin and filled the water in the dirt glass. It was nasty. They may not be the prettiest to look at, though they're prettier than some, but Wong Wok is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Springfield and the greater Pioneer Valley. Chinese takeout places are a dime a dozen in this city, and while the quality of some are passable, eating at any of them can be a crapshoot. For many years I'd trek out to Amherst to get sit-down-and-eat Chinese food--until my spot of choice suddenly closed--because of this fact. But with Wong Wok you always know what you're going to get; enormous portions that taste so good you'll want to clean your plate even if you're full. Like any situation where the staff is primarily made up of immigrants or non-native English-speakers communication can sometimes be a little tricky with the Wong Wok wait-staff. But the servers always try to give their best to please their guests and they keep your water-glass full. My usual order is the huge serving of chicken fingers, the heaping bowl of chicken fried rice and the overwhelming platter of General Tso's (I think they call it something else) chicken. But if you're on a budget, or you just don't want to have to take food home (although you still might have to because their portions are HUGE), you might want to opt for a combo plate. Yes, they serve a chicken fingers, "General's chicken" and fried rice combo. Whatever you order though, there's no better place for Chinese food within the Springfield city limits, and if there is in any near-by town I don't want to know about it. The portions are quite large and the price point more than moderate and I do like that they have a small portion menu just enough to snack.
