    Hot and Spicy Ramen

Great place and worth the drive! The menu looked amazing but I was on a mission for ramen. The garden salad with ginger dressing was also DELICIOUS. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Came here on recommendations from a friend, a small spot in a shopping strip mall. Cool spot with simple and relaxed Asian theme. We started with a simple California roll, which came with eight pieces of sushi. It was fresh, well assembled, and tasty. She ordered the hicken hibachi and I ordered Katsu Chicken Ramen...everything we delicious. Fresh ingredients, seasoned just right, good sized portions. One of the better Asian food experiences in the area.

Interesting place. Food was tasty but a little pricey. Place offers Korean, Japanese, ramen, curry and sushi. Ginger tea was good but had a lot of sugar. They use a lot of sugar in some of the dishes. Place was very hard to find but it is popular with the locals. While i would eat here again, I'd rather go to more authentic Korean or Japanese places.

Kaisen is our favorite sushi spot even though we live in Chicopee! I ordered some take out yesterday for Mother's Day and they were so busy they had multiple orders coming out of the kitchen for to go and dine in. Due to the wait time they even tossed in an extra California roll for us which was such a nice gesture although I never would have expected that because it was busy, a special day and people have to wait, that's the industry! The service was awesome- I don't remember the woman behind the counters name for sure but I think it might have been Kelly? I heard someone say it was her first day and good for her for taking on Mother's Day and executing it with grace, since we all know how some people can be - rude and entitled. She did a fantastic job. And of course, the sushi was fresh and delicious as always. I even tossed in a hot and spicy ramen for my order which I won't be placing another order without it. THE BEST!!!

Delicious sushi! I had Japanese food a few times on my trip and enjoyed every meal. We came here on a Monday night and it was steady. Our server was friendly and welcoming. I was torn between ramen and sushi but to my pleasant surprise, the menu offered a ramen and sushi roll combo. Hooray! I chose the veggie ramen and the Philly roll, and it also came with miso soup which I'm always down for. We got a veggie gyoza appetizer and it was so good! Perfect size and the crunch was satisfying. The ramen was plentiful, I added some hot sauce and soy sauce which added some nice depth to it. The Philly roll was delicious as usual, and I tried a piece of salmon sashimi and enjoyed that as well. This is a great spot!

Great lunch - we got two different ramens, a salmon stone pot (kind of like a bibimbap), tofu crisp sushi (yum) and bulgogi tacos (super yum). The tacos were a shared app but one of our party declared she is getting her own tacos as an entree next time to avoid sharing! Update 2 Oct 2022: Another awesome lunch - tofu crunch roll again, this time with coconut curry and sushi combo. Server was very friendly and helpful.

Green dragon roll, shrimp killer, and several others! Delicious!

The sushi here never fails to be delicious! The prices are decent and so are the portions. The environment is cute and cozy and the staff are nice. Only complaint I have is the billing. It seems they charged tax after a tip was included instead of simply on the food .

The place is in downtown Feeding Hills & pretty close to MA Highway 57/147 & you can get to this place from Agawam, Westfield, Southwick or Springfield vicinity & for what I experienced overall (yes it's BYOB) very good, priced & way different than most places of this type of cuisine you'll get. I began with water & also Japanese Citrus Tea and my entree was spicy pork with rice & note they got many options whether you want sushi, su shame or hot dishes & this place will not disappoint & a extra note I wound up hearing on the music system modern pop/rap & overall a nicely unexpected surprise (then again deeming an appointment with H&R Block nearby few of them recommended this) and well done & worth it plus prices definitely a extra shout out.

We've been recommended this place from a few people, so it was a nice, cold Saturday night... what better time to try a hot bowl of Ramen? We started with the beef gyoza while we perused the extensive menu. The gyoza were excellent and nicely plated. We then decided to try the ramen-- shoyu for me, chicken katsu for hubs. We are, by no means, Ramen experts.... but we felt like their Ramen was basic. I had an inkling just looking at the menu (the ingredients listed for each Ramen choice were essentially the same, just a broth and protein change). Other places I've reviewed have had much different choices, varied ingredients and broth with much more depth of flavor. If we had stopped there, we would have been disappointed-- but our server saved the day, encouraging the sushi, telling us how excellent it was. When I asked for her favorite, she went with the lion king roll. This was amazing and saved our meal!! I am torn about this place. I really wanted to LOVE it, based on things I've heard from others. It has potential and we plan to give it another go, but just apps and sushi next time.

I was skeptical of this place, even more so when I walked in, but fish is pretty fresh and the prices aren't bad either. Food came out pretty quick and the service was good. I'd come back if I had a sushi craving.

Do Lunch! Recently renovated, Kaisen is now my favorite lunch place. YES, sushi for lunch, especially with the options available, is the way lunch should be. I believe I had yellow fin sashimi, and a spicy tuna roll, with added crunch. LOVE it. I went with two men who looked more the " burger n fries" types, but who were also sold on the sushi for lunch specials. The bar areas is open where they make the rolls, so don't be shy- ask about what you like so that you can get something nummy without the guess work. This is also ideal for the lone luncher. There were several people eating alone here, and it was a very nice space to sit an do some work or read a book while you took a break. Final note: This is perfect for people who want to use forks instead of chopsticks unless your coworkers give you the mockery of shame.

    amazing sushi roll

Kaisen was just ok for me. To start with deposits, the sushi that we had was super fresh and had great flavor however the spicy pork which I have gotten at many places in the past was just absolutely awful very small amount of pork. There was more vegetables than there was pork, and everything was super drenched in the spicy sauce just left me very very disappointed.

I became a huge fan of Laotian food when one of the Thai restaurants in Ithaca decided to shift their focus onto one of the most underrepresented cuisines in the US, and was sad when they closed - unexpectedly - a few years ago. Laos has its own, unique, cuisine, which unfortunately gets lumped with Thai (Laab/Larb, for instance, is Laotian national dish). During one of our late trips we have decided to take a detour and check out SoulLao'd. It was so good that, on the way back, we took another detour, just to dine there. Many people don't know that sticky rice is used as a tool (akin to spoon/fork) to scoop the food out. Again, that's understandable, considering how few Lao restaurants we have around. It may take a few minutes for novices to figure it out, but once that's over, it's all smooth sailing. I suggest that you go for the SouLao'd Specialty Dishes. I had the raw Laab Sein (Beef Salad), and - on the way back - Peeng Lein (Grilled Beef Tongue), both spiced the way it is meant to be, Chef's suggestion ("You want it the authentic way? You got it"). Hubby had Laab Kai (Chicken Salad) both times; I guess he loved the dish. Make sure you ask about Sai Oua; this incredible pork sausage is not a regular staple; being home-made it takes a lot of preparation. ***If you go to a Laotian restaurant, take advantage of how lucky you are to come across one, and do not go for the usual Thai food. If you do, you will miss quite an adventure. *** Service was enthusiastic, attentive and knowledgeable - it is a family-owned restaurant, and Chef's daughter pretty much runs the business. We can hardly wait till April, for our next trip up north. Another detour, just to dine at SoulLao'd? You bet!

The dining area is still very sparse in design and coverage. The wait staff were still apathetic, and the wait times for things is still a little long. The Korean fried chicken was very tasty, sweet and salty Korean bbq sauce on perfectly fried wings was delightful. We opted for the pho, and that was very good. The broth was rich and flavorful, no need to season it was perfect already. The brisket was tender and still had a strong brisket flavor. There was a good amount of meat to the bowl and the noodles were fresh. The noodles did clump a bit, but they easily separated when agitated. All of the sushi was not as successful. The rolls lacked any significant flavor and missed some basic elements of sushi preparation. The rice was not seasoned, was not sticky, and the fish was roughly cut. The spicy rolls lacked spice and the crunchy rolls lacked crunch. It was presented well, just didn't show the level of care the front of the menu had. We informed our server of the sushi problems and she apologized but still charged us for all the sushi. Making an otherwise great experience not so great. I would recommend those who come here to focus on the front of the menu exclusively. Those dishes are stellar and are well worth the asking price. The sushi menu on the back is basic in flavor, pricy, and only worth having if you really need sushi. It does limit their menu significantly, but the quality difference is drastic.
