Informed Consent requires the dentist to explain and discuss treatment plans. Dr Kalra did not explain and discuss before making a $1200 one tooth denture when I needed an infected tooth pulled. She misled me saying I would wear it home from the extraction procedure. No discussion of how I wouldn't be able to wear it for days and the impressions were taken when the area was quite inflamed. So that device has never fit well. It feels like she considers her time too valuable to discuss anything with patients. She never said more than two words on several visits. I have no idea why I needed to pay an endodontist for another X-ray before being sent to the oral surgeon. Then when I was uncomfortable with this lack of communication she fired me quickly. Sent me packing after all the money I had paid. No more adjustments on the devise. read more

Dr. Doshi and ALL of her staff are very professional and friendly. They do great work make me feel instantly comfortable, and I completely trust my teeth and gums in their hands. I've only had two problems with them: 1) Sometimes it's been hard to schedule with them, and I've had to make appointments several months in advance (but that's not unique to them) 2) I've had a couple of times where I had to pay more than my deductible because my insurance company wouldn't authorize the amount they charged for the service they provided. But for that, I blame the entire EVIL MEDICAL INSURANCE INDUSTRY. read more

Today was my 3rd appointment with Dr. Doshi and team, and I really love them! Professionalism: 5/5 Skills: 5/5 Attitude & communication: 5/5 Cost/Value: 4/5 Okay, we all have some concern about finding both a skillful AND GENTLE dentist. I don't have a big phobia of dentists, but it's very important to me that they explain what they do and be gentle, and give me the feeling that I am ultimately in control. I've found my dentist with Dr. Doshi! She is incredibly nice, gentle, and communicates really well while she's operating. She and her team are very professional, and - although it's not easy to assess - they are very skilled at what they do. I just had 2 cavities between teeth filled (i.e., not easy to work on), and I barely felt anything. She and her assistant took their time. I'm so thankful. I don't have insurance, so it's a bit pricey (~$600). However, I can't compare with other dentists too much, but given the time they took, that they were 2 of them, all the material they used, and the quality of the service, it doesn't feel overpriced at all. At the end, Dr. Doshi offered me her cell phone number so I can call if I have concerns after work hours when the anesthesia fades away... how nice is that??? I almost feel like saying that I can't wait to go back! ;-) read more

I've been very pleased with Dr. Doshi and her staff. The care is both professional and personal - if there was such a thing as a "family" dentist in this day and age, she would be it! From my horrible experiences as a youth with an impaired (drunk) dentist I am one of those scaredy cats when it comes to dentistry. I have been a patient of Dr Doshi and her excellent front and back office staff for about 6 years. Never a complaint. If there is such a thing as painless, compassionate dentistry she is the one. Easy office to get to with a calming vista of the hills in the distance, modern equipment and if there is ever an issue with third party payers they are on it like white on rice. If you have a dental emergency she called in Rx for me over the weekend without batting an eye and say me first thing Monday. I have been referred to her by two Thai RN's who love her as their culture and ethos matched theirs. That says a great deal believe me. As a night shift RN, they bend over backwards to accomadate my awful schedule. I can say I am never nervous about seeing Dr. Doshi, she calms my fears, adresses my pain and is super kind. If you are a person who has some level of dental anxiety (like I was), then you may be looking for a dentist with very steady hands and a calming demeanor. I have been seeing Dr. Doshi for the past 15 years, and have never had a moment of disquiet in her presence. The entire staff are and have always been lovely, kind, patient, and efficient. If you dread dentist visits and wish you had a better dentist, you will be relieved to see Dr. Doshi. I used to be scared of the dentist, but now it makes me happy to have a team of people to help me take good care of my teeth, who care about my teeth and me as much as I do. I cannot recommend Dr. Doshi enough. I was a confirmed dentist-phobe, and hadn't seen a dentist for several decades. I went to her and she was incredibly supportive and gentle. I have now been with Dr. Doshi for about 10 years and wouldn't consider leaving. An unexpected plus: she is a small woman--and believe me, small hands on a dentist are a big plus! Open wide isn't nearly the command it normally seems. Her staff are always pleasant and one can tell that from the top down, this dental office is a loving and caring place. Dr. Doshi rocks. She has been treating my kids since they were toddlers. She has a wonderful manner and is extraordinarily gentle. When my oldest daughter as not quite 3, she needed a cavity filled... Dr. Doshi kept her still the whole time by telling her a story, then by having her assistant blow up latex gloves with the air hose and draw silly faces on them. Both my kids have mediocre teeth at best, and they both actually look forward to going to the dentist because Dr. Doshi and her staff are so incredibly nice. In almost 10 years of going there we have a had a couple of minor billing issues come up, but they were always resolved with a phone call. read more

I never, ever, ever write Yelp reviews. I'm writing this because Dr. Doshi is someone special. It is over a year later, and I can confidently say she saved my tooth. What happened a year ago? Here is how I described it in an e-mail to my friends afterwards (yes, it was that big a deal): I had cracked a tooth on a walnut shell that had somehow gotten into some food I bought, and I was finally getting it repaired today when the dentist, in the process, slowly realized that the situation was worse and worse. Every time she removed another piece of tooth there was another problem that had been hidden underneath. She removed a large filling from the same tooth in preparation to repair it; under the filling was a cavity, probably formed by not everything having been caught the first time the tooth was filled. She started to remove the cavity, but it kept going down further and further. She remarked that trying to fix it without exposing the nerve (which would make me require another root canal) was giving her a heart attack. She went to the slowest drill possible. When you slow it down, it jitters a lot more. Slow, slow, slow, tiny little bit at a time, like seconds ticking on a clock. There is a point to this story. Drilling the tooth took one and a half hours. The whole visit took more than two. When you get that close to a nerve, you never know whether it'll react and make you have a root canal. The first root canal I got was because a filling came too close to the nerve. It doesn't have to touch the nerve for it to hurt; the nerve can sense it from a distance when the distance is close enough. After work, she called me to ask how the tooth was doing. The compassion she showed, both in taking the time to really try super-hard to preserve the tooth, as well as her follow-up phone calls -- it made all the difference in the world. And it saved my tooth. With any other dentist, I would have needed a root canal afterwards. Dr. Doshi, thanks. read more

Not only is Meeta Doshi a fine technical dentist, but she's also patient, communicative, gentle, and concerned for her patient's welfare (enough to have offered to make a house call after a particularly extensive procedure).
