This was totally my own responsibility. Earlier this year I decided to go back and see if I could continue on my Invisalign retainers or to see what options were available at this point. To my surprise, Dr Mastaj was able to contact Invisalign and they were able to continue my retainers with them after a 4 year hiatus. They had to take new scans of my teeth, this time with high tech imaging, scanning and computer technology, instead of the old rubber molds that had to be poured into your mouth. Dr Mastaj has been professional, caring and personable throughout my experience with her office. She takes time to talk to you, understand your situation, and comes up with a solution that fits your needs. Through all my visits there I have seen people of all ages from young kids to senior citizens come and go with smiles on their faces. She genuinely gets to know each of her patients and that's what separates her from other Orthodontists and offices. She's up to date on current tech and can even offer Skype sessions for patients that can't reach her office or are out of town. The office is clean, comfortable and easy to get to. Her on site staff and assistants have all been excellent. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for an Orthodontist in the greater Philly area.

I called the office for guidance and was advised to come in. After driving over an hour to the appointment, I was surprised to learn there would be additional costs. I paid thousands of dollars for braces, two removable retainers, and a permanent retainer. Initially, my daughter was told the problem was an easy fix and that additional dental glue could be applied. However, once it was mentioned that the warranty had expired, the recommendation suddenly changed to replacing the product entirely. When I expressed my concerns to the dentist, he was rude and unprofessional. I truly regret spending my money there, and they will not receive another cent from me. I feel the office was dishonest and provided extremely poor customer service.

A detailed xray was necessary and was taken at a different practice. My husband brought the disc to this office and weeks went by. Regardless of how many times he spoke to the office manager, no follow up was done. Besides this, the office made us pay $243 in advance but would not explain why.(husband's coverage had hundreds of dollars still available for treatment) He went to another practice and had an excellent dentist who removed the tooth (told him that never should a second root canal be done on the same tooth!) We have been trying to get a refund for the money we paid, and keep getting told someone will get back to us. So far- crickets.

We made and attended appointments - and then I was told that they do not take my insurance. (but they are listed on my insurance web site - go figure). Anyways, they charged me several hundred dollars more for my regular cleaning. - like more than 3x more than what they charged my bfs insurance for his cleaning. I paid so this mess wouldn't go to collections. And then I had to fight them thru my insurance. This office lied to my insurance and claimed they sent me full repayment even though they had not. My insurance handled it but it took forever - and then I was finally paid back. Once settled and reimbursed I walked away and found a new dentist. Never to set foot in this unethical office again. Since we love Dr Volinsky, my bf continued scheduling appointments every 6 months, seeing Dr V w no problems. At his very last appointment, my bf had to take vacation from work for his appointment. He arrives, and the hygientist takes one look and tells him his teeth need so much cleaning that they couldn't possibly fit it in during his appointment. (meanwhile he was just there 6 months before for a cleaning that this office did!! Plus! He brushes multiple times a day and flosses daily. Plus he took vacation from work for this exact purpose). He would need a much more costly cleaning and if they did it that day insurance would prob not cover it. They wanted him to reschedule. Then!!! Instead of Dr Volinsky coming in, another dentist enters the room and tells him that Dr Volinsky just retired!!! Like it was an out of the blue decision Dr V made that morning or something. So he would not be seeing Dr V at the appointment he had scheduled w Dr V!!! The office scheduled an appointment w a Dr who doesn't work there!! Then doesn't inform the client that he won't be seeing the person he is there to see!!! So shady. But it gets shadier. This new doctor suddenly found all kinds of costly problems w his teeth!!! Problems that were not there 6 months before when he saw Dr Volinsky. Including wanting to pull teeth from his mouth. Obvi - he got the hell out of there and has not returned. Lastly, this office will tell you at least 100x while you are there that they are the "official dentist office of the Eagles". As if I also work in a career where I am getting my teeth busted up and need a similar procedure to an athlete from our football team. Ironically, my dermatologist is the official derm of the eagles and the only way I found this out was because 15 years into being her patient, she needed to switch my appt to go on the team plane to the Superbowl. But I guess she has her reputation to go on so she doesn't need to mention this. (unlike this awful office).

After one service only, I now have to file my own claim, but at the in network rate. Then I get charged for a service that didn't happen. They claim they can try to fix it if I call back. No answer after I call back several times. Do not recommend. Front desk acts like they're helpful but it's a scam. If I could give it a zero, I would.

I showed up and was told my insurance wasn't accepted and spent who knows how long on the phone w my insurance company explaining that nobody told me the office had changed. This was after they rescheduled me three times, one being just hours before! The second appointment I waited in the chair for 55 minutes (yes I counted) waiting to see a doctor, who then told me that I should have my crown replaced simply because it was done the "old school" way and he could make it look much better (side note: it's perfectly intact, which was my only question). Third visit I waited another 30 minutes despite the fact that I was the only patient in the office. I then had the most painful cleaning I've ever experienced while the dentist explained to me how to floss as though I'm a small child who's never done it before. Three strikes and I'm honestly happy that I'll never have to willingly go here again!

I saw an interaction where one of the doctors legitimately ignored their own staff member. I didn't think too much of it, because I don't know the culture there. So I did some asking around since I know some folks that have worked there in the past. Apparently turnover is incredibly high, as at least 5 people have resigned in the past 6 months. There isn't much communication as an entire team, which is obviously a problem with such a small office. Doctors are passive-aggressive to the employees they don't like. They use ableist language and get weirdly upset when people take sick days. Also, there have been microaggressions against Black and Brown staff members. I know 3 people who have worked under these doctors, and it sounds like they do great work, however I'll NEVER support an office that treats their staff so terribly.
