This place is a hidden gem. Lines can get pretty long especially on weekends, but they go by quick. They usually have goat on friday and saturdays, if you haven't tried adobo kambing(goat) or their kaldereta kambing, its a must try! Their bbq and sisig are my go to choices, but they have plenty of choices to choose from. A combo is only $7.50 which includes two dishes and 3 scoops of rice, also with complementary soup which is my favorite part. Homemade GOOD filipino food for $7.50? Thats a steal. So-so food at best...... My wife and I ate there with my SERVICE dog. After eating my wife (filipina) was told not to bring dog back next time we visited. I assume the woman who told her this was the owner. She said some of her customers may not like the dog there. After looking at her customers, I feel our dog was a step up. First time try this place, the food is good and nice service, I think I am gonna come back again!

Since moving out of my parents' house 7 years ago, I haven't had my share of Filipino food as often as I would like and it's not as easily accessible. Filipino restauarnts were everywhere in Cerritos and although West Long Beach has it's Filipino spots, none of them are that good. I've since learned to make a few dishes on my own, but there are so many more that I don't know how to make. So, my co-worker and I drive to Nita's from Downtown Long Beach at least once a week. We are able to drive there, eat, and drive back within an hour... if we don't stop somewhere for dessert. I don't typiclly like turo turo (or point point) places, but this food is pretty damn legit... even better than some sit down restaurants. Although it's a mystery what food they will have each day, I never have a problem finding something to please my palate. My favorites are sisig, lechon kawali, and sinigang na baboy. They don't have kare kare as often as I'd like, but I'm able to get past that. I'm also able to get past the aesthetics of the place because it's not like my expectations are high given the kind of place that it is. You ever go to a place because it's easy to get to and its only minutes to get to from your home? This used to be the routine when the family or the parents particularly wanted some filipino food without having to cook. I'm officially boycotting this place because 1 "They are always stingy with their food." my mom sais. 2. They are not at all nice. My last experience here led me to believe they don't appreciate my business. The lady at the register with the mole on her neck with hair growing out of it did not even apologize for almost giving me the wrong change and did not even say thank you for my patronage. Maybe because I didn't speak tagalog did she snob me but guess what ? not all Filipino people in Carson speak tagalog, some of us were raised here soooo ingat lates sir mum. This place in my opinion is really overrated. The food here is not all that great. I've eaten their adobo, pancit, lumpia, broiled tilapia, BBQ sticks, and lechon kawali and broiled leg quarter here and they are all just okay or alright. My mom makes infinitely better adobo and pancit and lumpia than they do. Their adobo has no taste and the chicken looks very much undercooked and there isn't much sweetness or taste for that matter. I don't think they even add Bay leaves which not only makes the adobo smell really good but also makes it taste great. Leg quarters a C minus because sometimes the chicken is not fully cooked and isn't crispy. Their lumpia is a C minus, it's over-cooked and sometimes even burnt and only meat that taste like it's a long time or expired and hardly any onions or carrots and don't even ask about shrimp--THERE ISN'T ANY!!! D for the pancit, i've tried their usual kind which is the bihon, and it's awful. Very white and bland noodles and no taste at all!!! They cannot even put soy sauce on the pancit to make it look and taste better; very little ingredients and very poor as well-only a few strips of carrots, over do it with the cabbage, hardly any celery and again with the shrimp--at the most 2 pieces or none at all!! I hate their BBQ sticks--lots of tabaa (FAT) hardly any meat and always burned!!! Their BBQ or broiled Tilapia is worse, it's super burned and sometimes so burned that the skin is so bitter that you cannot even eat it!!! YEAH RIGHT--FILIPINO HOME COOKING MY BEHIND!!! PLEASE--IF I WANT REAL FILIPINO HOME COOKING--I EAT MY MOM'S OR NANAY'S COOKING!!!! Her cooking is infinitely more delicious than their's--in fact if you compare her cooking to their cooking-- their food is about as good as sewage water!!! The customer service here is horrible, even more worse than the food. They tend to play favorites here and serve their most favorite or loyal customers first even if they aren't in line. They don't even smile at you especially that lady with the big black mole on her chin or neck with the hair growing on it--she's the worst. She always looks like she's bothered by you or mad at you and she never ever says Thank You. None of them do but especially her. It's like you're doing her the favor and it's like you are at her mercy. Never liked that lady and she is the number one reason why I never come here anymore. Only came here during the first two years of its opening but never come here anymore. If I want Filipino food other than my mom's cooking--I go to better restaurants like Manila Sunrise or Manila's Lechon-food is almost as primo there as your mom's home cooked Filipino food. Parking @ Nita's and especially the lines are a nightmare here always so bring your patience. read more

I know next to nothing about Filipino food aside from pancit and lumpia. Decided to try here. The staff was very helpful when I said I don't know what to order, and hooked me up with a few combo plates (actually foam food boxes, but the effect is much the same). Everyone is friendly there. My family enjoyed the food. Nothing too spicy for Americans who use hot sauce. A nice break from the usual burger-and-burrito fast-food scene. read more

I was a little skeptical when I walked in (my first time) They have take-out type food where you point to what you want and they put it in the styrofoam box. I ordered beef stew and soup with pork bone. Then, walked to the cashier to pay cash only. $6.50 ($7.15 after tax). They gave me a set of fork and spoon wrapped by a napkin. They are of better quality than your typical flimsy chinese plastic utensils. I sat down on a table to consume my food. Initially thinking I will leave some for dinner. The food was so tasty and delicious that I ate it all. The line of people queing up for food never ends during my 1 hr there. Would come back. read more

I've only been here once. But WOW! They just set the bar. I thought that Tita Celia's, Hapag Filipino and Manila's Lechon were great. Then I came here and had the BBQ pork and the Sisig. The flavors were fantastic! I'll have to save the veg for my next meal. The place was clean and had a friendly vibe. And like all Filipino restaurants, the prices make me wonder how they stay in the black. I look forward to a happy future with Nita. read more
