Tucked away in the back of the shopping plaza on Carson and Grace, this is their second location and is currently in its soft opening phase. They offer a great selection of halo-halo desserts and speciality drinks. I tried their Cucumansi Refresher and Sea Salt Cream Matcha--both were sold choices. The Cucumansi was refreshing, not overly sweet and cucumber forward. I liked that it wasn't overly tart. The matcha was perfect! It was earthy and the sweetness from the cream topping was minimal. They also serve Siomai (pork and shrimp, along with a variety of baked goods. The staff were welcoming and transparent about unavailable menu items which was understandable! There's plenty pf free parking available and several nearby shops worth checking out while in the area. Overall, I had a great experience and am looking forward to their grand opening on July 18.

Food: Came here twice before grand opening and tried the different halo halo's. OG supreme halo halo I'd give a 3/5, the flan that was in it tasted tangy rather than sweet. The chocolate pistachio a 4/5. The mango crumble 3/5. Mango sticky rice 3/5. If you're expecting your typical halo halo with red beans and all that other stuff. Then this is not the place for you. I want to say their halo halo has a "modern" twist to it. 90% of the cup is shaved ice & the other 5% are the toppings. Unlike your regular halo halo where you have red beans, jelly, langka, coconut gel, the sugar palm fruit. THEY DONT HAVE THAT. It's just the jello looking things. So if you don't like what's in a regular halo halo & you just want something simple with a modern twist, this is THE RIGHT spot for you. They do charge $12-$16 (for the specialty ones). They sell other things other than halo halo, which are drinks & small eats. Which I think is pretty nice! Service - they are fast, friendly & efficient. Ambiance - lots of parking around the area since it's in a plaza. Lots of CUTE photo ops inside the place. REMINDER- I did go before grand opening. So they are probably just getting their stuff ready & everything.

Just in time for the summer, D Baker's Lab has made its way to the city of Carson! It's not your traditional Filipino halo halo, it's a more milky and frosty version with all your favorite and familiar toppings. Halo Halo means mix mix in Tagalog. Traditionally its shaved ice, condensed milk, evaporated milk, and a variety of fruits, jellies, and sweet beans. I may have a preference for the original however, this was a sweet and cold treat to cool off on a hot day- can't complain! Customer service was excellent. I visited before their official grand opening so the interior was still in the works but I saw the vision. Mainly indoor seating will be available. Plenty of parking. Check this spot out and give it a try! I'm always so happy to support and see more Filipino small businesses pop up in the city.

The good... nice selection of halo-halo variations, good-size portion and fresh flavors. The bad... we waited 20 mins for our order - only 4 orders ahead of us... granted it is still the soft opening and clearly kids running the counter.. I hope they figure out the flow.. otherwise I wouldn't wait that long again

First time coming here and it was okay. Took them a while to make my halo-halo even when they're not busy. Staff spend more time chatting than getting the orders come out more quickly and efficiency.

I tried their OG halo-halo and liked it so much I came back the same day to try the mango sticky rice. I've had it about 3 times in the last few days, so it's safe to say I'll be a returning customer. The desserts are really good, but $17.99 for a large feels a bit steep. Maybe lowering the price a bit could encourage more people to come back more often. As much as I enjoy it, the price did catch me off guard.

All the cakes are prebaked and packaged, but one can come in to have it decorated with custom lettering while you wait. While we waited, we also ordered two other things that we all love from here: their shanghai style egg rolls (25 pieces for $21) and their miki bihon pancit (medium, enough to feed a family, for $21). We've tried a lot of different version from different places all over, and have come to the conclusion that we like the version at Gemmae's, the best (as long as for my wife, they skip adding patis to the pancit). They also have a turo turo steam table here. The yellow curry chicken caught my eye, so got a small container of that. Here's what we picked up: Chocolate Chip Cookie (x2) Twin Chip Ube Cookie Cheddar Hot Dog Bun Ube Cheese Pandesal Longanisa Pandesal Garlic Peanuts Spicy Garlic Peanuts This was my first time trying this bakery since I was craving pandesal, and it did not disappoint. We also grabbed a frozen pack of Shanghai, fried it up at home, and wow, it was so good. I highly recommend picking up a pack if you visit! I love that this shop offers both savory food and sweets, so definitely come hungry. The service was quick and friendly, and the interior made me feel like I was transported straight to the Philippines. Pro tip: stop by around 1 pm-3 pm for a great experience.
