We always get their Goto, Veggie Lumpia, Dinuguan, Tokwa't Baboy and Pansit. The past few months, I have been adding Cebuchon (roasted pork belly) and Pansit Malabon. Best Goto I've ever tasted and the folks there are great. The lady that always serves me is very nice. I would recommend this place. I go hear every three days to get my Goto and my Mom's Goto. They have an A grade while the other restaurant next to them has a C grade, so that makes me feel good that they meet the health requirements. read more

It's a little family owned restaurant so don't expect anything fancy. Almost like going to your Filipino grandmas house, it's old but the place is kept clean. The people there are nice and they like to joke around so don't take it personal (just like any Filipino family would) . The food is good and even better fresh (just like any other restaurant) . Best goto and tokwat baboy! I also grab okoy and garlic peanuts when I come in. It's a very small place but they have been there forever and their food has always been good forever ! I used to come here when I was younger for siopao and hopia and Filipino snacks. One of the staple to-go Filipino food places to grab in Carson. Only a table or two so don't count on eating here. As soon as I entered the establishment, I was greeted with smiles and uplifting mood. Went to my table and ordered food. I ordered Lumpiang Sariwa for my appetizer (because I love eating vegetables for starters), Chicken Inasal for my Entreè. I was surprised how big the Lumpiang Sariwa! I only ate 1/2 of my order. It's Tuesday. It's lunch time. The morning was slow and I needed to grant myself with a death wish. What do I do? I ask my coworker to find me a Filipino restaurant that serves delicious heart clogging food. I really wanted Filipino food because I had been reminiscing about my experience with Max's Manila to myself, especially how fascinating and delicious the fried items were. So a few of my coworkers decide to make a drive down on a slow work day. So we ordered four dishes total. First, lumpia Shanghai, which is a Filipino-style eggrolls stuffed with ground pork and served with sweet and sour sauce. It was simple and delicious. Second, there was Filipino-style eggrolls stuffed with ground pork and served with sweet and sour sauce, a stir fried noodle I didn't care much for which consists of vermicelli noodles, tossed with shrimp, green onion, celery. It might have been good if I didn't get distracted by the fried pork leg, crispy pata, our third item. The skin on the outside was crispy, full of flavor. The meat inside was tender, soft, almost fragile, but not quite, it was moist and delicate. It's serve with a vinegar sauce that isn't so vinegary, but it helps bring the sweet flavor to the pork. Amazing, as much as it may clog up your aorta. Finally, there was the hearty kare kara, a peanut based ox tail soup. Not quite a soup, more like a thick casserole to me, that serves well with rice. The soup contains some of the fattiest, tender ox tail along with eggplant, garlic, bok choi, with Filipino shrimp paste on the side. All it all, it was a heart felt meal. Fattening, heart clogging. Flavorful! I'm in awe and in peace after having such wonderful pork. If you're a pork lover, you need to give this place a try. I'm not a Filipino cuisine expert so there may be better place out there. However, I can tell you that you can't go wrong here, at least with the crispy pata and the lumpia Shanghai, perfect complement to your very own death wish. If you don't die, just get ready to walk 20 miles to burn off this meal. I'd give them a 3.5 star. read more

Wow, this place has been here forever, since like the early 80's. My parents have been coming here since before I was born which was 1987. I've been coming here since I was like 2 years old and its always been really nice here. Nice friendly people work here and are very nice to their customers. I've always loved their goto (rice porridge), Pancit Palabok, Ukoy (deep fried seafood and vegetable fritter), and Vegetable Lumpia. But in the last few years, some of their dishes have been goin' downhill. Their goto, isn't that good anymore; it's very watery now and has become really bland. They still put garlic chips on it but rarely put green onions anymore. Both make this dish taste so good and without the other, the goto isn't much good. Even their palabok doesn't have much taste anymore. Sad, I've been buying those items for 22 until last year because they aren't so good anymore. Sad again, times change and things you love since childhood change too. Their vegetable lumpia and ukoy are still good though and their Pitse-Pitse (coconut green and ube (purple yam) rice cakes are still good. Not to forget their Puto (white rice cake) is still good too. Overall, still the best Filipino deli and bakery in Carson and South Bay. read more
