Valiente Burrito - chips and queso
    Matthew S.

We ordered from Nixtamal through DoorDash. The dasher was super prompt. All the food was fresh and tasty! We had chips and queso. They send the food in metal containers, not styrofoam. I really appreciated their packaging! The El Valiente burrito has steak, chicken and chorizo. It's a little spicy, with avocado and tomatillo sauce! The chorizo is very flavorful and fragrant. The burrito Bandera has rice, beans, steak and chicken inside. It's topped with queso, this burrito is more mild. Pico and cilantro give it a fresh flavor. I definitely recommend Nixtamal.

We love Nixtamal! We always get the margarita flight. You can pick any 4 so it's a great way to try all of their flavors. The food is always great no matter what we get. Service is always great and the environment is really nice and upbeat!

I ordered through DoorDash and it came hot and fresh. Great value and everything tastes amazing. I've also ordered the posole before and it's excellent. Definitely enough for 2 people.

Affordable food. I was afraid the new owners would shoot prices up but they didn't. Good food.

It's always a treat when great service elevates the whole dining experience, and David absolutely did that. Even on National Margarita Day! We ordered the house margarita, the birria taco, and a side of rice, and everything hit the spot. The margarita was refreshing and well-balanced, the birria was tender and flavorful, and even the rice had that comforting, homemade feel that rounds out a meal perfectly. Between the warm service and the tasty food, El Cielo is definitely a spot I'll return to. A great night from start to finish.

The first time, I was alone, this trip, I was accompanied by my wife. This is important because she has an eye for so many different things than I do, such as the nice, clean, updated decor; the music was unobtrusive and pleasant, it is an open space that "a group of women would like." For me, it looks like a great bar area to watch a game on a relaxed weekend day or night with great drink options and tasty food. I would imagine this is a great happy hour bar, but not a loud kind, just a comfortable space with plenty of options. But, we were here for lunch. I ordered the chicken tinga crispy Mexican flautas: Crispy Mexican-Style flautas stuffed with Tinga chicken, topped with El Cielo sauce and house dressing, served with rice, beans, sour cream and lettuce. It was delicious....again. No wonder it is one of their most popular dishes. The flautas are rolled, fried tortillas with filling, sometimes called a tacquito, although technically a flauta is supposed to be a bit larger than a tacquito. Nevertheless, they were crispy and the accompanying sauces were drizzled over the top. This is not only a great presentation but is tasty enough that no other condiments. The tinga chicken is shredded with a spicy (flavor not heat) tomato, onion, garlic, chipotle pepper sauce. Served with a side of rice, refried beans and shredded lettuce with sour cream. This is a go to dish. My wife ordered the taco salad, as usual, however, not as usual, this one was declared as the best taco salad she has ever been served. The chicken in the salad seemed to be the same tinga chicken as in the flautas - so that is a good reason for this flavor. The salsa bar has about 10 choices including on for children that is mild. We tried five - the regular red salsa, the mango pineapple chunky salsa, the verde tomatilla, the spicy creamy verde and the warm, slightly spicy bean dip that comes with the chips. All were great. If I was picky, the chips are the thicker, more sturdy type (which is fine) and not the thinner, crispy kind (often called "restaurant style." But each has its plusses, so no big deal. Be careful not to over-chip, the salsas are all fresh and very goodl. Our server was a pro - Jonathon. He has been with the restaurant since day 12 after opening and is their most seasoned of the wait staff. This showed in his knowledge of the dishes and attentiveness. Surprisingly, there was not a large crowd at lunch, but a decent crowd. This is now on our regular rotation for a lunch date.

Hubby had the spaghetti bolognese with 2 meatballs & house salad with ranch dressing. We shared the calamari appetizer. Food was delicious! I had a glass of Cab and hubby had iced tea. So good! Plenty of seating at 5:30 on a Saturday. I made a reservation through Resi, but there issues with it; no worries, we were seated right away. In the future, I will call in my reservation. My only critique would be the quality of the flatware. It was straight out of Dollar Tree quality; didn't match the ambiance of the place. I would love to see them upgrade the flatware in the future.

The restaurant features plenty of windows, a covered patio, and a spacious main dining and bar area. The vibe is very casual and chill. We had made reservations and were greeted and seated promptly by a very accommodating hostess. The menu offers a wide variety of options. We ordered Chicken Piccata and a shrimp pasta dish, both of which come with a salad. Bread with olive oil is also available upon request. While the salads were just meh, the Chicken Piccata was excellent. The shrimp dish, however, was a bit heavy on the sauce. It's a nice spot to unwind, though be prepared for longer wait times for your entrees. Our server was friendly and attentive. As we were leaving, we enjoyed the start of a two-man country band that sounded great!

We've currently been here for more than an hour and a half, and there were not that many people there to begin with. My husbands order came out wrong. The server sent it back, took it off the bill. I've lived in Chicago and spent a lot of time through New Jersey so I've seen most every type of pizza place that exists and I have to say, the folks over at Full House are killing it, they could make it in Chicago no problem. The size of their large Hawaiian pizza is massive for $27 and clearly made completely in house. My wife is pregnant with twins & just mentioned she was in the mood for pizza maybe 25 minutes before I walked out of the restaurant with that hot monstrosity; it really made her whole night so we'll be driving the 45 minutes from now on to this place whenever pizza becomes the preference. Highly recommend with the friendly & silly staff and the awesome affordability for authentic pie.

Unfortunately, we arrived later than planned and had to park in a muddy lot quite a ways away. Don't dilly-dally and be too late or you'll suffer the same fate. Most available parking is on grass which presents quite an issue during monsoon season. Wear your Grundigs. The amphitheater has a huge selection of food offerings only to be matched by the THC/Liquor/Beer stands. There are two permanent restrooms and a host of Porta-John's with no lines. A good sign that either there are ample facilities or on a rainy night people just peed in their pants. Could be a combination of the two. The people working the show were very nice, but seemed to be quite confused about whether or not chairs were allowed or really anything about the venue. This is most likely due to everything being so new and will most likely improve with practice. Sight lines to the stage are decent. The slope is fairly mild so seeing over the people in front of you can be an issue. I was very impressed by the quality of the sound. Excellent! All in all CCNB Amphitheatre is a good place to see an outdoor concert and will only get better as they finish it up.

This is an all-outdoor venue, so dress appropriately, but our weather was gorgeous. Parking was easy and free. We arrived early, which was smart because the venue is off a two-lane road and latecomers had to park further away and walk. If you're early and get a spot in the parking lot close to the venue instead of the overflow lot, the walk isn't bad at all. The concert didn't allow folks to bring in chairs, so we purchased tickets with seats. Outdoor folding chairs were available for rent, but I didn't see a single rented chair on the lawn, so I guess the price was not right. Policies differ from show to show but are spelled out on the website, so do your research and buy tickets accordingly. CCNB Amphitheatre has buildings with bathrooms, portalets, and fancy trailers with potties. The food and beverage choices are good, with mostly "fair foods" and typical concert beers, wines, and frozen cocktails. Don't expect anything fancy, but do expect to pay concert prices because beer and food aren't cheap at any event. Our show was a lot of fun, but we left a little early to beat the traffic. I would hate to see the crowd to leave, especially with a two-lane road. I feel like the area's infrastructure is still "catching up" with this venue, but I would return for a concert.
