    Not great restroaunt

The food was horrible. The tacos were not good their was hair in my taco, and the cheese sauce tasted horrible, and the service was ok. The girl was nice, kind of not understanding her, and the restroaunt is not great

Good afternoon everyone!! Hey just found Papa and Beers in Simpsonville SC! Let's go for this ride!! Service is excellent! Medium beers is Hhhhhuuuggee!!! Tasty depends on what you get! I had Modelo dark draft!! Excellent choice by me.... chips a little too thick. Not to salty though.. Served with an odd bean dip considering most dishes have retried beans! Salsa bar so many many choices...Had chicken enchiladas the chicken tasted like it sat a long time in the warmer not in a good way...retried beans very nice... rice was over cooked and no spice or heat..lettuce fresh and not dripping wet with moisture . Pretty underwhelming but give it an OK if nothing else is available.. Great service...just needs some heat and spices... Keep on yelping Love

I come here every time I'm in town. The Saltillo Sizzling Salad is AMAZING and soooo large. They make it tableside, it's $14 and that's with a ton of steak on top. They have a yummy salsa bar- love the creamy jalapeño. Small marg is big- and only 4.99. Friend had the pina colada - they add whipped cream on top which he found unnecessary not blended well enough, too many chunks of ice, flavor is good though. Staff is super nice! Sometimes a little slow taking orders but they bring plenty of chips :)

First they served us chips with bean water not bean dip. It was gross. The salsa was either insanely hot or tasted like ketchup. I tried the carnitas fajita burrito. The veggies were cooked well but the meat had little flavor. I took it out of the burrito to make sure. The portions are enormous so if you are really hungry, you get a lot for the money. Small discount if you pay with cash-look at the bottom of your bill. Wait staff never smiles.

Shout out to another great meal at Papa's & Beer. Great service and good margaritas. I had the char broiled pollo tacos this time and they did not disappoint. I recommend Papa's & Beer. The fresh guacamole is delicious.

So I have been eyeballing this little adorable restaurant with the life size bull outside of the building for some time now. My husband, daughter and I decided that we wanted to give it a try and see what this was like. The décor inside provides a "night of the dead" theme with the statues and rustic Mexican accents. The hubs and I decided to get a margarita. I chose the "medium" size option of their original flavor. The waitress brought out the glass and its FAR from medium in size, but I wasnt upset at all! LOL It was worth every last drop! So delicious. Moving on to food. I had their chimichanga, hubs had a burrito, and well...the kid had a burger, but she did scarf it all down. The chimi had so much flavor and was ginormous in size. Husband was happy with his burrito, but wants to try it covered in their queso next time. Their chips and "salsa" did not come with your average salsa, it was more like a bean dip, but was a welcomed change. The staff was super friendly, and they all worked as a team. If we needed anything we could ask anyone who was near by and they would address our need (for napkins, another drink, etc). I took 1 star away only for the movie they had on at the time we were there. It was not for a 9 year old, and luckily she listened when we told her not to watch it. It was around the time of Halloween so it was a "scary" movie for a youngin. This will definitely be our new local Mexican spot!

This was my first time here at this location. It's tiny!! We got sat right away. The menu is huge and it was hard to decide on what to eat. I decided on the tostadas-one chicken and one steak. It was huge. The food was good but not excellent. It was a little overwhelming. They do have their salsa bar like the other locations. The service was ok. The bean dip is good as always!

My Mexico City tacos... with "pico" just an overload of tomatoes. Sitting in the juices so the tortillas were all soggy.

not very good at all. Was in the area at night and decided to stop for some tacos and I quickly regretted it. The service wasn't bad but just the place didn't seem so clean.. then the food came and yeah we couldn't wait to leave. I'm not happy with the food here especially with the prices. Their menu is way too big to be able to serve any decent food. Didn't get a picture of my boyfriends burrito.. it was sitting in a plate of meat juices it was super soggy. I just don't recommend this place at all

It's always a treat when great service elevates the whole dining experience, and David absolutely did that. Even on National Margarita Day! We ordered the house margarita, the birria taco, and a side of rice, and everything hit the spot. The margarita was refreshing and well-balanced, the birria was tender and flavorful, and even the rice had that comforting, homemade feel that rounds out a meal perfectly. Between the warm service and the tasty food, El Cielo is definitely a spot I'll return to. A great night from start to finish.

The first time, I was alone, this trip, I was accompanied by my wife. This is important because she has an eye for so many different things than I do, such as the nice, clean, updated decor; the music was unobtrusive and pleasant, it is an open space that "a group of women would like." For me, it looks like a great bar area to watch a game on a relaxed weekend day or night with great drink options and tasty food. I would imagine this is a great happy hour bar, but not a loud kind, just a comfortable space with plenty of options. But, we were here for lunch. I ordered the chicken tinga crispy Mexican flautas: Crispy Mexican-Style flautas stuffed with Tinga chicken, topped with El Cielo sauce and house dressing, served with rice, beans, sour cream and lettuce. It was delicious....again. No wonder it is one of their most popular dishes. The flautas are rolled, fried tortillas with filling, sometimes called a tacquito, although technically a flauta is supposed to be a bit larger than a tacquito. Nevertheless, they were crispy and the accompanying sauces were drizzled over the top. This is not only a great presentation but is tasty enough that no other condiments. The tinga chicken is shredded with a spicy (flavor not heat) tomato, onion, garlic, chipotle pepper sauce. Served with a side of rice, refried beans and shredded lettuce with sour cream. This is a go to dish. My wife ordered the taco salad, as usual, however, not as usual, this one was declared as the best taco salad she has ever been served. The chicken in the salad seemed to be the same tinga chicken as in the flautas - so that is a good reason for this flavor. The salsa bar has about 10 choices including on for children that is mild. We tried five - the regular red salsa, the mango pineapple chunky salsa, the verde tomatilla, the spicy creamy verde and the warm, slightly spicy bean dip that comes with the chips. All were great. If I was picky, the chips are the thicker, more sturdy type (which is fine) and not the thinner, crispy kind (often called "restaurant style." But each has its plusses, so no big deal. Be careful not to over-chip, the salsas are all fresh and very goodl. Our server was a pro - Jonathon. He has been with the restaurant since day 12 after opening and is their most seasoned of the wait staff. This showed in his knowledge of the dishes and attentiveness. Surprisingly, there was not a large crowd at lunch, but a decent crowd. This is now on our regular rotation for a lunch date.
