My friends and I stopped by here for a quick dinner after craving chips and tacos. We were seated pretty quickly and our waitress brought our chips and dips quickly after ordering. The queso tasted pretty well and loved the guac as well that came with it. The salsa was also quite refreshing. After filling up on chips, I decided to go with one of their chicken tacos and the blackened shrimp taco. I liked how you can order the tacos separately instead of as a group of 2 or 3 of the same kind. The blackened shrimp taco was quite tasty and loved the pico and crema it came with it. The chicken was also pretty good too. Both tacos came with a good amount of meat and were filling. We got our tacos fairly quickly as well. I was looking forward to trying this restaurant. The food was nasty and tasted like it had been cooked then recooked. The guacamole was a small amount for $7.50 and parts of it were brown. Don't do the margarita pitchers... they taste like sugar hot dog water. The waitress also said "they have a limited amount of alcohol they can put per pitcher... must be three shots max. Lunch at the cantina was very much enjoyed on cinco de mayo. The location was busy but the host was able to accommodate our big group by combining two tables (thank you!). Cantina 76 provided a good lunch of tacos and margaritas in downtown Greenville! They have an eclectic menu of different types of tacos. We ordered the fish taco, the Peruvian shrimp taco, the buffalo chicken taco, and the traditional beef taco. All were served wrapped in a flour tortilla, though you may request a corn tortilla. While chips are not included, they cost about $3.50 and come with sauces. You also can order other dips, like guacamole. The flavors were fun and tasty. On Saturdays, the traditional margarita is $3.13. What a deal! In fact, our entire order came to $22 after taxes. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The atmosphere is relaxed with a bar and screens showing sports. We recommend the restaurant and will be back to try the other taco options. read more

This is a great place to grab some cheap tacos. These are way cheaper than most downtown prices, making it a fantastic place to grab a quick and cheap bite to eat. I loved the variety available with the tacos, and I was here during a fast season so that made all the difference. Usually when you want a fish taco you get one option, but this place has multiple! I am excited to come back and try the various meat tacos as well. Service has the overwhelming feel of a new restaurant - no one really seems to know what is going on. We had to walk up to our server to get the check. I totally understand that and am not holding it against them while they figure things out. Would love to come back and see how things have changed. Ambiance is a little strange. It's dark and kinda loud, and I was there in an off-time. Extremely noisy, but the primary issue was that the place was not staffed properly for the lunchtime convention crowd. After our food order was taken we didn't see our waitress for at least 15 min. We actually had to flag her down as she was racing between tables - and she had tables inside and outside. Cantina 76 has the best margaritas in town! The classic flavor is amazing, and the strawberry basil is fantastic. I love splitting a margarita pitcher and the queso, guac, and salsa trio with friends! The salsa here has a lovely, rich flavor that makes for an excellent double dip combo with queso. It's a good thing the staff makes sure there are always plenty of chips on the table, because there's no morsel of guac left behind! There were some yummy specials offered today, so I tried the smoked gouda brisket taco and sweet potato fries along with my usual favorite, the peruvian shrimp taco. Everything was super tasty! staff was totally rude. asked for a regular height table due to having an infant. got offered a table outside in the sun, or a high top. both of which would not work with a 6 month old. We asked for just a normal table inside, of which 6-7 were available and open and apparently, we were annoying the hostess and management. It was not even busy at late lunch time. She left to go ask and whispered to us nothing was available. She would not even talk at a normal volume to hear. Our party of four went here fairly early on a Saturday evening. We were seated at a row of high bar tables divided from other diners by plexiglass. We ordered waters, two margaritas and chips and salsa. The waitress returned to take out food order. We did not want to order yet as we had not even received our margaritas. Husband thought he saw them sitting at the bar. Waitress did not return for 15 minutes until husband waved her down. He asked about our margaritas and she started writing them on the order pad like we were ordering more. He told her we were still waiting for our original ones. She said they still weren't ready and disappeared back to the kitchen area. Shortly after that she went to the bar and picked up the SAME margaritas that had now been sitting there for 20 minutes. Cantina 76 is in the heart of Greenville and seemed like a solid option for lunch. It was about an hour wait for our party of 8 people to be seated on a Saturday. The interior is pretty typical with high tops and low tops + a bar when you walk in. They also have outdoor seating which would be fab when it's not sweltering. Salsa and chips have to be ordered off the menu (not a big deal, it's a few bucks) and were tasty. We also tried the queso that was delish. Tacos - Maybe it's that I've been spoiled with some of the best tacos out there. Or maybe it's because they served fish sticks in a cold tortilla and called it a taco. Either way, the shrimp taco was ok and the fish taco left much to be desired. Would I come back? All taco spots are not the same. I love everything about Cantina 76! Whether you are seated at a table, or dining at the bar, serve is great. Always friendly, always efficient. We love the chips and salsa there. We get the mild salsa and love the smokey flavor. My favorite tacos are blackened shrimp. The bf loves the Surf n Turf. He is also a fan of their chicken salad and quesadillas. The sides are also really good. Favs are jalapeño coleslaw and the Mexican corn. My beverage of choice is the Original margarita or the Prickly Pear. read more
