Called Ballard Electric again (on a Friday) because my garage car charger stopped working. They set…read morean appointment for today (Monday) and sent Victor and Peter out to troubleshoot. In the meantime, I had several placed to be over the weekend and ended up going to a public rapid charger to get enough power to make it to various appointments, but it was stressful as my battery was only at 40 miles. Peter and Victor discovered that the breaker switch needed to be replaced (which was what I suspected because it kept flipping to neutral rather than staying off or on). Victor said the breaker switch was a "Home Depot special" but a good one. However, they didn't have it on their truck and their usual suppliers didn't carry that model, so they needed to get it from Home Depot (HD). The HD by my house was out so they had to go to the next city over to pick one up. They were back in about an hour with the new switch and changed it out very quickly. I asked them about switching out some exterior lights, but told them that the garage car charger was the priority. Since it took so long to get the new switch (they didn't get back to the house until almost 5 p.m.), I called Kyle to set up a new date for them to come back and replace the lights on the outside of the house for me. Victor and another electrician will be back on Wednesday to replace seven exterior lights for me. Obviously, Ballard Electric is my go-to for all my electrical needs. Responsive, friendly, and reasonably priced.

Also added a new water heater and, my favorite addition will be the split installed in a back room add on with a cathedral ceiling that's difficult to heat/cool on its own. Each installation came with its own specialist, and each team was amazing. They took such good care in ensuring the carpets were covered, and their cleanup was fantastic - including one of the guys who walked the driveway and area in front for nails that may have been dropped!! When I say customer service I mean Kirsten. She answered all of my questions and made suggestions when it appeared I didn't have any options. I live in a townhouse and so working with our electrical panel has many issues not associated with a single family home. I initially had Dr. Sparks' team come out and they determined nothing could be done to add a 220 circuit to my garage, without upgrading my entire electrical panel which would be a lot of money. One of the team members (Lance) even stopped by on his way home from work to see if he could come up with any options. He couldn't but again that is part of their customer service. A few months passed and Kirsten called me out of the blue to discuss a new option. This option adds a unit in the garage that allows the electrical system to charge my Tesla but if the electrical demand in the house exceeds the capability of my main electrical box it will cut the charge to the Tesla and let the house function uninterrupted. Once the house electrical demand is reduced the charge to the Tesla can then restart. We discussed this option and although the price for the unit is a little high I decided to go ahead. The team of Warren (Dr. Spark's) and Lance came by and performed the installation. The installation took about 6 hours but it works flawlessly. So now I am getting about 30miles/hr while charging. If you live in a townhouse and can't get a 220 outlet installed in your garage call Dr. Sparks and ask about the DDC-9 unit I described above. They will walk you through the installation. These guys are honest and trustworthy. I would recommend them for any of your electrical needs. Tell them I sent you.

He took the time to walk me through everything, including the difference between just adding a 220V outlet vs. installing a dedicated charging station. Instead of upselling me, he actually helped me make the better decision. We ended up installing a proper charging station, and now my car charges in half the time.
