We were planning on replacing our range hood ourselves, so we went to Lowe's, bought a hood, brought it home, and immediately realized we needed a little help. We called Bright City and Nadav called me back immediately. He agreed to come by and give us a free estimate. Other contractors wanted us to pay for the visit, while one other quoted a price sight unseen, in the high $300s. He arrived, checked out our setup, and briefly described how he'd go about doing an install. We weren't quite sure what we wanted to do so he jumped in and said, "look, as long as I'm here, let me at least help you guys out a little bit. I'll prep the hood and walk you through the steps." He unpacked the new hood, and prepared it for installation. He showed us how to connect the wires and how to mount the hood. He showed us how to attach the vent and how to put in the lights. He then removed the old hood to check the vent and the electrical contacts, and the next thing we knew, he was installing the new hood for us. The total time from our front door to finishing the installation was about 45 minutes. He never gave us a bid, never asked us to pay for his visit, he just did the work because he had the time and he had come all the way out here and our new hood and all the parts were strewn about the kitchen floor. We did compensate him for his time, but it was a fraction of what we were being quoted by other contractors. Nadav did a great job, was very friendly from the beginning, and above all, despite the fact that we hadn't actually hired him, he was extremely professional and treated us like valued clients.
