My husband and I purchased a Siberian husky 2 days before Christmas. The process was so smooth and easy. She had all her shot and ready to go home the same day. We stayed there for hours (literally 3-4 hours) before making a decision. We were not rushed at all! Our puppy Sky is 8 months now and we couldn't be happier. Warning to future pet owners considering this place: They definitely do not get their breeders properly, or feed the dogs enough. Context: I got a Miniature American Shepherd from here that was severely underweight (2.8lbs) . I was told she was 10 weeks when I bought her, so I didn't think much of her small size at first till I checked her paperwork and it said 14 weeks. Looked it up, she was supposed to be 7lbs. Also, she had a kennel cough and parasites! The only half decent thing is that they give you 1 free Vet visit within first 2 weeks, so I got medication for those. For those who care: she's 18 weeks, 6lbs now, still less than the 9-10 she's supposed to be, but much better! read more

Great little find from yelp. Wanted to bring our baby to play with puppies. Never went to a place that ask for a donation to let you play with them but i think that's great. It's going towards a good cause but you still get to play with the sweet puppies. The guy who worked there was very patient and kind. Wish there were more to play with that weren't sold. Less then 2 weeks ago we just went and bought our little girl pug from the fair-lawn location, there's also the one in Wayne by the same owner, i was told by the fair-lawn employee. i waited until i brought her to our vet today to write a complete review as i had read some awful ones about customer service, health of dogs after a few days, price, etc and i wanted to cover it all at one time. To start. Price-Are these dogs prices high? I mean, i guess it's what you consider high. We had called around and there were places that cost more and some that cost less but over all we were okay with what we payed for our baby. Yes shelters do adoptions for a lot cheaper then this place, however again i guess it's what you consider high. We were comfortable with what we payed. Customer service- i can only speak of the customer service IN the fair-lawn location as we only called the Wayne location. The lady in Wayne answered our questions also but we ultimately decided to go to the fair lawn location. My husband called and spoke with Joe asked him questions about availability cost etc he answerd it all and we called back later to let him know we wanted to put down the deposit. Joe told my husband to come the next morning. Next morning my husband went down and payed the deposit one of the downsides of Covid was you can't really play or interact with the puppy in person but my husband was allowed to meet her and "play" with her behind the glass. He also advised my husband to come home and get my son and myself to go and see her also. We did just that. As far as the reviews of service being rude etc i didn't see any of that. He answered all questions asked and was nice he congratulated us upon entering and you could tell he was busy. The phone didn't stop ringing and he was always taking care of the puppies. We couldn't take her home that day as we had to wait for a quarantine period, but he assured us he would call us soon as we could and he would take care of her for us. He called us two days sooner then we thought and said we could come get her the next day. We picked her up he was very good at explaining everything we were signing & reading and answering questions about her care at home He NEVER forced us to use their vet just encouraged us to take her within 14 days he made small talk etc and when he handed her over to us he even said his own little goodbye to her you can tell he cares. We left with him reminding us to call him with any questions about her care if we had any. We thought it was a great experience. Health- A huge factor here. I've read some horrible things about puppies being sick from here or the other location etc however our baby appeared healthy when we got her. Clean well fed and taken care of, happy etc. she eats well at hone and plays. She sleeps and over all appeared healthy however of course i was concerned about anything internally that could be wrong and today she was cleared by my vet she's happy and healthy weighing 5.5 pounds heart and lungs sound great and all the boxes were checked off. I'm sure puppies do get sick and I'm sure some may end up with issues however currently our little one is doing well. If a problem does occur in the future we will. CRoss the bridge but i can't blame the store. A very good friend of mine bought her puppy from a breeder and a few months after he started to get sick. It does happen. Maybe we got lucky but it appeared all the dogs there are healthy and happy. :) We can't thank the NJ puppy store and joe enough for the happiness and joy or new little baby Jaxie brings to our family. She's the perfect mix of chaos and calm and we all adore her my son loves playing fetch with her and laying with her. We know it's been only two weeks but she makes us all so very happy! Very smelly facility. Not enough selection. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted, but the person sitting at the desk was munching on chips and watching a movie on the computer. The employee didn't even ask if we needed help. Needless to say, I will be getting my puppy elsewhere. read more

Myself and some friends went in and looked at the pups for a while... We finally picked one we wanted to take out and the woman working walked past us about 4 times. Who knows what she thought we were waiting for. Anyway we asked how much the puppy we wanted was and she responded with the price and went about her business. You would think when a customer is inquiring about a price, they would want to see the dog. Guess that's not how this shop works. If you're going to spend $1,500+ on a puppy, do it somewhere else. read more

I went to pick out a puppy and took my nieces and nephews to help! It was a great experience. The place was clean and all the puppies were playing with one another or taking a nap. When I chose the puppy I wanted to see, we were asked to clean our hands and were provided with sufficient space, privacy and time to interact with the puppy. The staff came to check on us to see if we had any questions and provided us with helpful advice regarding the interaction they witnessed. I made the decision to buy the puppy and the staff was very informative on the next steps and showed me all the paperwork on the puppy. Made me feel more secure about my decision and purchase. I would recommend this store to anyone looking to bring a new furry friend home. read more

As soon as we entered the store, we noticed the horrible stench. It smelt like dirty toilet that never gets cleaned. The puppies were cramped in small cages and all of them were whimpering scratching the glass desperately trying to get out. Many looked very sad. We could not stay any longer than a minute or two because of the terrible smell. I hope they don't come from puppy mills. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. The customer service from the white female was horrible but also biased and racist. Before I enter the store there was a white couple who was playing with a dog, but also who did not purchase the dog. When I went in, I asked questions about the dog and was intending to buy the dog. I asked to play with the dog. Because clearly you first need to know if the pup and you are connected. Well the lady is like "We aren't allowed to let the dogs out to play" Mind you I'm standing there like you just let this white couple play with the dog, but the Afro-Latina isn't allowed ok? She's like yeah only if you're a serious buyer. Ma'am how do you know that I was or was not a serious buyer? She didn't even ask, she assumed. I don't come to a puppy store for puppy therapy! I wasn't going to argue with her because she can argue with her moms. But I will say that this buisness isn't getting my money period! Also them cages you have for those dogs are too small. Truly, the customer service is trash, the racist ass lady is trash, and the conditions the pups are in as well. Period. read more

My wife, my 8 year old son and I purchased a Soft Coated Wheaten terrier on 1/23/2019. We had a great experience at New Jersey Puppy store. My salesperson's name was Joe. Joe was very knowledgeable, patient and cared a lot about the puppies he sold. The establishment was very clean and the puppies were well cared for. Stood in the store and wasn't even greeted by the female worker. I was there to purchase a dog companion for my nephew. Once another group came in she catered to them and still didn't acknowledge my presence and interest in the purchase of a dog. Well, on to the next pet shop, but they have beautiful dogs. The staff at this puppy store is amazing! They are extremely helpful and greet you with a smile from the second you walk through the door. Prior to walking into NJ Puppy Store we visited another place in the vicinity...you could not compare these two pet stores. NJ Puppy's is clean, smells great and their puppies look happy & healthy. Gabby is a sweet heart, knowledgeable and truly loves those puppies. She is definitely not in the business strictly to make money, she loves and cares for all of the cuties that she sells. She invests time and explains the entire process from caring for your new puppy, to training and how to ensure the puppy stays healthy. I've never been treated so horribly when making an expensive purchase. Arriving at NJ Puppy Store, I was not greeted or even acknowledged! The woman working at the time was too focused on a father with two children who wasn't even purchasing a dog. We asked about the price of the dog we were interested in.
