This was my first experience with a dog groomer and I was slightly terrified in the beginning. Our dog spent 6 months in a shelter before we adopted her and despite our best efforts to get her cleaned up on our own, we knew a real pro had to take care of her. Luckily we found Monika and she was able to accomodate us on just a day's notice. When I first walked in I was greeted by the staff and explained what we needed done. Then I handed the dog over and waited for their call to pick her up. Just 2 hours later she was ready. Monika and her team did a fantastic job. I requested a deshedding service if they thought it was needed and they said it wasn't. I appreciated the honesty. If there was one thing I would have liked, it would be a better communication of pricing ahead of time. The website didn't list the pricing, and it wasn't communicated at drop off. We have 4 dogs so grooming and nail cutting is a hassle. I bring my 2 Chihuahua's here to get their nails cut at least once a month. They always take us as a walk in for nail clipping. We also come in for grooming for them and the others and always by appointment. The staff is nice and they always do a great job. They even put a bandana on the dogs and some doggie cologne when they leave. Great local groomer. read more

I agree with the other reviewer (their review is not a recommended review, but it gives 1 star)...if you do not have patience for the customer's animals, perhaps this is not the right career choice. I took my cat here last year. He has been groomed here multiple before. When I dropped my cat off, the woman who took him was visibly nervous. She then proceeded to tell me that she does not like cats! Um...ok. You work in a pet salon for CATS and dogs. Probably not the best customer service move telling the customer that you are afraid of their cat. I get that not everyone appreciates cats, but still. You are providing a service for this animal. Keep your opinions to yourself. When I picked up my cat, his lion cut was just being finished. Monika does a great job with the actual grooming. However, she said he was a little rough and if he acts up the next time, she's going to have to ask us not to return. Again....he is a CAT and you are providing a service. Wear the cat gloves and do your job. He is up to date on his shots and you have a copy of his rabies certificate. Now I'm a little bit peeved, but still happy with the grooming job. Monika proceeds to tell me that she's surprised he was nasty, but good thing he doesn't have claws. To which I reply, "Yes, he has back claws." Her response..."Oh. I didn't see them." So now you just admitted you didn't do your job thoroughly and did not trim his claws, which should be part of a regular grooming. Thankfully, she trimmed them real quick. This place changed so much I got charged 50 dollars extra when I normally pay 65 for my malltipoo and she wasn't even groomed correctly and no scarf or bows like they use to before with her. I try never to leave negative reviews for miscommunications but this deserves one. After six years of bringing in one dog, I brought in my new dog as well. My 22 lb dog was the same charge as normal, my 11 lb dog was $5 more. When I asked why my smaller dog was more expensive I was told " new client so you don't get the older customer discount price". I understand you think this is cool but it's not what was explained to me on the phone when I booked both appointments at the same time. You may need the extra $5 and hopefully you will find a way to do that without my support. You've not only lost my business, but my mothers as well. The fact that I work with 5 rescue groups means I'll also be speaking to them about which local groomers we suggest as well. read more

This is a back handed compliment...I've been taking my dog Emily to petstyles for years. She's 6 years old as I'm writing this. I have to admit that Monika herself is a master at the art of dog grooming and I have a lot of respect for a woman who has single-handedly established such a successful business. I don't know what happened. I'm still confused as to why I'm somehow to blame for our banishment. It was NOT my fault and yet...I'm the bad guy. If someone accused your cute white prissy toy poodle of having flees when it just wasn't so(YES! I got offended. Who wouldn't?), and they charged you an extra $20.00 for a flee bath (that's not your fault, maybe there where flees from another dog in their shop that day) and then...they got toxic chemicals from the flee bath into the dogs eyes so she couldnt see for a few days, so you call to speak to them about it, letting them know what they did, but they refused to take responsibility for it. (Just own it already! Shit happens!)I wasn't angry. I panicked thinking how expensive the vet bill would be and wondering why they did that. Did their shop have flees that day? Were they just trying to make some extra cash to pay their high rent? Was it really their perception that I brought a flee ridden dog into a grooming fascility without letting them know first? (That's not in my character to lack concern for other animals)I really don't have the answers as to what happened that day in September 2019 5 months ago, but I do know this...I can't ever trust them again and I've threatened to give them a bad review on yelp if they didn't try to repair the relationship. Needless to say...They failed to, so they can no longer be trusted and have lost a faithful customer. (AS IF) All I have to say now is...BUYER BEWARE! They WILL NOT take responsibility for anything that may happen to your beloved family pet, even if its an accident. And worst...YOU will be blamed and banished. Thank's Petstyles for harming my dog, not owning up to it and then abandoning it. Let's hope that doesn't happen to the children. Congrats on being a new mother. read more

Tried this salon for my little girl on a friend's recommendation a few weeks back. My first warning should have been that the price was about $20 less than her normal haircut - "you get what you pay for" really came into play here. Not sure if the groomer was having an off day, but the haircut was choppy everywhere and it was the worst she's had in ages (just in time for Thanksgiving, too). When I expressed concern over the quality upon picking my dog up, the owner was very nasty and tried saying that my little lady was acting up. Her regular groomer does her at my home, so I know for a fact that she behaves well for haircuts. I see now that I should have read some reviews first and that the owner's attitude is an issue. We will not be returning and hopefully neither will the friend who recommended this place. I gave two stars because my dog at the very least smelled good. read more

I love their service! I see the compassion they have so I always feel comfortable leaving my dog there. I've been to many groomers in the past and this is my favorite. So we took our cat there for the first time after seeing decent reviews, our cat is a Tabi and she has been shedding quite a bit so when we schedule the grooming we told them about it and we asked for a trim. We dropped her off on Thursday around 11 and again said just a trim, we got called to pick her up around 2:30 and was a little shocked to get a bill of $106.00 for a grooming and trim. Total with a tip $116.00.....we got home to take our cat out of the carrier to find her TOTALLY SHAVEN....we were horrified at what they did and immediately called there to get an attitude from the girl at the desk who said, "well there must of been a miscommunication, a service was provided it's not like we could put the hair back on." We asked to speak to the owner Monica who all the sudden had left for the day. We get a call from her on Friday again showing no empathy to the situation and instead of offering some type of refund had the NERVE to over $20 off our next grooming....like we would ever step foot in there again, what a joke.....this place is horrible, stay away don't subject yourself pet to the traumatization they put your pets through. read more

The guy at the front desk is kind and patient, listened to what I wanted, my dog always comes out all clean, fresh, and smells super nice, the price is reasonable, the place is clean and I'm always greeted when I'm there, I'm very pleased. I have been bringing my shih tzu to Monika for a few years now, she always smells wonderful and the staff is very personable to me and my fur baby! They care about the animals and you can tell they are animal lovers which is always a plus when you have someone grooming your pets. I recommend them to others who also feel the same after going. This is by far the WORST groomer I've ever been to! I started taking my Havanese here because it is local and convenient, but unfortunately the owner was extremely rude. If you do not have patience, you definitely should not be working with animals. I have such a happy sweet dog that has never hurt anyone, but Monika is claiming that my dog is nasty and so is my mother, which is clearly not the appropriate way to treat your customers. Then she continued to make my mother pay for the grooming service that they didn't even finish. She said we were no longer welcome at her business. This woman is running a terrible business. NEVER wrote a bad review but this deserves it. I took my 18 month old dog to get groomed. I know he's a bit fussy and nervous but as a professional groomer you should have some experience on how to handle fussy dogs not every dog is calm. I bring him home and 1 of his eyes is half shut. Rushed him to a 24 hour hospital. He was diagnosed with an ulcer in his eye from a traumatic blow to his eye. I called monica the next day and did not want to assume the slightest responsibility considering my dog was just at her place getting groomed and he was not in this condition prior to his appointment. I called in calm and respectful as i know accidents do happen but to not try and resolve this really upset me. I had to stay up all night with my dog annoyed by a cone he had around his neck and in pain. My girlfriend missed work to stay with him. So this grooming session cost me $70 plus $200 emergency visit and $200 for a days work so far. Worst customer service. I wasnt looking for anything more than a sorry and is there anything i can do to make this better. All i got was a no its not our fault. Grow up and take responsibility. Its not just a coincidence my dogs eye is closed shut right after he was groomed by you guys. If she would have at least try to work with me i wouldve gave them another shot. Our dog is an extremely calm and shy. We have been going to Monika for years. A few months back we noticed a cut on the side of our dogs face but we wrote it off to a one time occurrence. About one month ago we picked up our dog after grooming and when we got him home we noticed immediately that there was a problem They had cut his hindquarters sooo short that there was an abrasion and he was bleeding. We took him to the vet who confirmed that this was from the grooming and had to apply a medicated salve so he would not get an infection. We called Monika and calmly stated what had happened and she replied that he was not bleeding when he left there. She never mentioned that they clipped him so short they cut him, only that he was not bleeding! I told her we brought him directly home and immediately noticed it. She again replied that it was not possible and he was not bleeding when he left her shop. I realized there was no winning so I asked her to please be more careful in the future (knowing we would not have a future with her). She said she would not be comfortable grooming our dog any longer and dismissed us. I was so in shock that I simply replied that that was fine. Can you imagine running a business in this manner? I certainly cannot. All turned out fine because we found a new groomer in Little Falls and guess what? She and another gal there used to work for Monika and went out on her own. Maybe this is why Pet Styles is having problems and cutting dogs while grooming. Needless to say the gal in Little Falls is already acquainted with our dog and his grooming style which makes the transition seamless. read more
