Horrible staff. Untrained, unhelpful, rude - and hung up on me. I called about Wondercide natural flea & tick repellent for pets. The first CS guy couldn't understand in three tries my question "Are you trained in this product?" He insisted that my question was if the product could be used for training. He gave me to another rep, who gave me to a third rep. Each of them insisted that they knew that my question has to do with using this product to train our cat. And not one of the three of them would let me speak until I started shouting. Understanding that this is not the place for me to deal with, I called the other small Wondercide retailer in my area (The Petcare Market in Lodi) and within 20 seconds the courteous and knowledgeable David answered all my questions and we're headed there to make a purchase. I'm really lucky that the third unhelpful Pet Supplies Plus rep hung up on me. Saved me from fainting from my blood pressure being pushed up so high trying to make myself be heard. read more

This store makes my life easier. I stop in on my lunch hour and pick up the necessities for my cats & dog. i can find the dog food I need, different varieties of cat food for my cats, and all the treats they like. Best of all, they carry the litter that I prefer, and I can wheel it right out to the car. They have been great during covid, keeping things in stock as much as possible and helping people with curbside delivery. The staff are friendly, helpful and always willing to see a cat or dog photo on your phone. :) I often foster kittens for my local shelter, and I know I can run into Pet Supplies Plus to get the things I need for the little ones. Employees often give helpful advice and they have a food collection for local rescues. It's much better to go in here, where I can be in and out, than waste my time in a supermarket where things are all hit or miss. Stephanie the groomer is wonderful! My pup is very timid and nips but Stephanie just scoops her right up and trims her nails. I attempted another groomer closer to my house and it took 4 people a muzzle and a harness to trim her nails. Since then I decided to always take the trip to Stephanie. I have two large dogs and cats that vary in age so its important that I am consistent with the food I get which also happens to be not cheap. If I am not able to make it the pet shop in Jackson where I am also a member I stop off here on my lunch- the team always has a smile, they are super helpful and have always had what my fur babies need. Absolutely horrible place to groom your puppy !!! Employees definitely have no grooming skills what so ever. They complained cause my puppy was to happy ? Really ? So they couldn't handle him. They were way over booked, to many dogs in a small room. Waste of time and money. His haircut is horrible, his nails are terrible, my poor guy came back to me with his eyes full of hair, a crappy, choppy haircut... I could have just done it myself for that. You LOST my business as a customer, and I'll be sure NOT to recommend this place to any of my family or friends that have pets. So disappointed ! read more

I love this store. They have plenty of treats and toys for my dog. I have noticed the quality of other pet stores going down hill, but this place is always consistent and great! Staff is friendly. Pets are welcome to come into the store too, and staff treats them so nicely! If you do come here, get the discount card. It's free, and there are a lot of great coupons you can get online. I only came here for fish and have come several times. There was only one guy who knew anything about fish the rest would say 'I don't know'. The guy, wish I knew his name is extremely knowledgeable about fish and will answer ALL your questions with great detail :). The prices are a bit high but one would expect that from a small shop. Freshwater fish selection is good. Staff is friendly. Update: I asked is the baby clown loach priced differently than the medium clown loach. This misguided poor associate says they will grow into medium size so it is the same price. Can we just think what you just said? All the clown loaches were either dead or on the way wanted to save this poor little guy. Sadly this will be my last time coming here. Wish they knew more about fish and or hand associates who thought before they speak! read more

I came here for the basic pet owners needs at first every few weeks, food for the cat, litter, etc. Recently I got a puppy and had to start going much more frequently and I honestly have to say how great this place is. They offer vip petcare on Sundays for basic shots and vaccines, and today I went for my puppy's first grooming. The service was excellent and my girl looks adorable! They had her ready in an hour and the groomers were both very polite and very nice. This will be her grooming stop permanently and the discounts don't hurt either. read more

I went to this store and got 2 parakeets, 5 fish and 1 frog. The parakeets were amazing and for such a good price. The cashier told us that we can put the fish in a bowl. The frog died the same day that we got it. Then the next day we went back to get more fish and a different cashier told me that I can't put the fish in a bowl and the fish might die soon. They also only get gold fish after one week and a half after running out of them. They also have a dead fish on display. I would not recommend to anyone. read more

There are a lot of reasons to go to some of the big box stores, especially when making large purchases of electronics or even housewares. Not so with pet supplies. I see absolutely no reason to venture out to Petsmart or Petco when we have this nice store right here in my hometown that pretty much sells the same thing at the same prices. I am all about keeping my dollar in the community whenever possible. If you live in Fair Lawn, Glen Rock, Hawthorne or any of the other surrounding towns, pay them a visit. There is absolutely no reason to venture into Paramus and fight mall traffic just to buy dog or cat food, toys, bones, fish, hamsters or just about anything else pet related. I'm heartbroken as I write this. My puppy who is only 9 mo old, had some knots so I took him in a couple months ago, they were kind and charged me more, but was happy to have his hair dematted ( tho it wasn't that bad). Took him a few days ago for another grooming , told them that he was with more knots this time, and I said for summer make it a BIT shorter. To my surprise, when we picked him up, he was almost bald !!!!!! My sweet beautiful baby was now hairless basically. Now he is red and raw and will need to bring him to the doctor today for cream. So sad. So heartsick. Would have been nice to have gotten a call before they decided to shave my beautiful baby. ;( read more

I came to this store to exchange the canned food for cats, that I bought just about 3-4 days ago. My adult cat liked only Sheba salmon .But I got her a variety of Shiba's Pate. So I came to the store to exchange it for salmon. They said I have to pay 70 cents more because I bought it on sale and now this food not on sale? So they refused to equally exchange it. Instead they made refund and then made a new purchase ... I just did not get it ... Why? In any store if you buy the merchandise and want to exchange it they make it easy. And you do not have to pay the difference in price. So be aware you can return , but you can not exchange in this store . And this is very strange and inconvenient for customers. read more

First time took my dog for groom I think I could do better job at home. They left hair uneven like really horrible and in some areas they didn't even cut left it as is. They over charging better off going to Amy's royal treatment in saddle brook. I normally pay $55 for my dog they charged me $70 with horrible job. read more
