This is very misleading for parents who are trying to find care for their kids. I spent over 20k at this establishment and had a crown and bridge done. At the time I had the work done everything looked good over the years. The crown and bridge had came loose and I visited to have them re cemented. Back in August 2019 the bridge came out due to decay of the teeth and I asked for options instead of the professionals looking out for the patient they said nothing could be done and said that a denture was my only option. I had a small bill there and began to pay my bill down while I started to pay for the denture procedure the dentist had partial payment from my dental insurance and money that I paid out of pocket. Being that I was only 38 my family thought I was to young to have a denture especially with the type of work that I do so i went and got a second opinion from another dentist and realized that dentures was not the only thing that could be done so I contacted the dentist and stated that I wasn't gonna do the denture and that I would like a refund due to me not having any thing done. The main dentist (owner) stated I'm not entitled to a refund and that I could come Pick up the denture and keep It as a trophy I decided to visit Clear a choice dental where i received pristine service and full dental implants. The staff at team dental continues to send me a bill stating that I owe them money but I'm beat on the $575 that I paid out of pocket. That's not right I have contacted the office multiple times and they continue to give me no refund or use the money they took from me to pay of the remaining balance I have at their office. read more

I would AVOID NJ Team Dental! I did not have a good experience. My first visit was in 2/2022. BIG MISTAKE! I reported Dr. Whiteman to the NJ Dental Board recently. I had 3 crowns done there by a dentist in training and ALL of them have problems! One of the caps is dull and has a scratchy feel. I was told by Dr. Whiteman that the people who made the crown had their own style in making the crowns! REALLY? All the other crowns that I had done previous to using NJ Team Dental were shiny and smooth. When I approached Dr. Whiteman about this and told him that the Dentists are professionals and should have known better, he just looked at me like I had 2 heads. The other 2 crowns are painful when biting down! I went back and forth for a year with absolutely NO resolution to the problems they caused! They also tried to perform a root canal on my tooth 3 times before I demanded to see an endodontist. Dr. Whiteman and the group should be avoided at all costs. Dr. Whiteman has ignored ALL phone calls that I've made to him regarding the above issues. I can only hope that the Dental Board makes him pay for me to go to a different dentist of my choice and have all 3 crowns fixed. Watch out for Dr. "T". I found his work to be very sloppy. Had my 2nd visit with NJ Team Dental on 3/1/22 = regular 6 month office visit. The staff was friendly as before. I again had (Dawn) as my dental-hygenist; who did an excellent job cleaning my teeth. She is a great person to talk to. Saw Dr. Alexa Brown this time for the dental exam. She was very personable and thorough. Dr. suggested that they do the crown as soon as I am able to on the last tooth on upper left hand side of my mouth (which has a composite filling done by another dentist a few years ago); which now has a crack in the middle. I haven't had the crown done so far; due to an elderly parent having health issues at home. The doctor was very understanding and was just concerned that I might incur pain down the road if that same tooth became problematic without the crown. read more

Dr Andrew Whiteman and his staff are all amazing. They go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and at ease every time you go. I needed some emergency work done and they squeezed me right in! I needed an implant and was scared to death of what that entailed. They were so helpful in walking me through each step of the process and how much it would cost during the visits . I never have to wait long to be seen and am always greeted with a friendly smile and great convo! When I walk in I feel like family not just a patient! My father had a mysterious pain in his ear/ jaw for going on 6+ months. He saw multiple dentists and all said they couldn't find any issues upon examination and suggested he look into trigeminal neuralgia. If you aren't familiar with what that is, google it... but know this; for you to say you treat it requires knowledge of other conditions which have symptoms that can mask themselves as "trigeminal neuralgia". Desperate for help, my father googled it and came up with NJ Team Dental and scheduled a consultation. Again, I cannot emphasize enough, my father is a blue collar worker who was in dire pain just looking for relief. Immediately after his consult he called me and said "They can't tell me if I have trigeminal neuralgia but they suggested I undergo an apico as there can be a nerve there..." Conveniently, they also had my father sign papers to undergo general Anesthesia (which, upon further investigation is RARELY used for this procedure as local is just fine) and suggested a steroid shot also. He did not, however explain there would be additional costs associated with the anesthesia, only the shot... which my father declined. The day of the procedure came and I picked up my dad and took him to the office. I work in the medical field and immediately got the sense that the doctor and staff were less than honest, but I remained optimistic for my father. He was knocked out, cut open and had basically nothing done to him only to wake up and be told he owes them $3600 while he was still drugged up and groggy. The doc didn't know I was there. I came back and asked them why they were discussing finances with a person who wasn't of sound mind... they looked at me like a ghost. I explained the entire situation was unprofessional, I didn't appreciate my father being lied to about cost, suggested a procedure that was clearly not intended for him and most importantly taken advantage of. He should have been referred to a different doctor... Fast forward 6 months later to present day... The procedure did nothing as I expected, when my father explained his symptoms along with a numb tongue the doctor should have IMMEDIATELY inspected his entire mouth before suggesting something such as an apico and ultimately demand he go see a different specialist. Why you ask? Because my father has cancer, and had a massive growth any dentist would have seen, especially a trained one. Thanks to this office, it's now reached stage 2. I wish I could give 0 stars to this place, specifically to Dr. Muduli. Please RUN FAST if you need extensive dental work done. Very long story short, I needed a tooth extracted that was damaged in an accident. He tried to do an extraction, bone graft, and implant all in the same day which I questioned him about. After extraction and bone graft, he told me I had "more bone loss than expected" and I would need to heal for 3 months before implant placement. Upon my follow up, I was told I have MORE bone loss and I would need another tooth extracted because it's loose from the bone loss. He rushed me to have a flipper made (which would've been my second flipper) which is out of pocket. I felt something was very wrong after doing some research about bone loss. At that time I booked a consultation with another doctor for a second opinion. This new doctor, who is honest and caring, discovered that I have a very healthy bone health, so there is no bone loss. He explained that the reason why my other tooth is now loose is because my bottom teeth are tapping into that tooth now that the one tooth is gone and causing it to slightly loosen. However, it will tighten up on its own overtime after a bite adjustment. He also discovered a significant piece of my root left inside of my gums from my first extraction which I was never informed about. I think it is very sad and disgusting that somebody would be so cruel and heartless and take advantage of somebody who is in a very fragile emotional state after suffering a trauma. I actually do feel for the staff considering they have to stand by this person. I hope that Dr. Whiteman sees this and considers what type of person he has working in his practice. I had a terrible experience. I went in with pain in my mouth. I was not sure what tooth it was because the whole side of my mouth hurt. The Dr guessed what tooth it was. No xray was taken. He just started drilling and I was in terrible pain. When he finished drilling, he realized that he drilled the wrong tooth and then took an xray and saw the problem was a tooth in the top of my mouth and not the bottom. I called the owner twice to discuss what happened and he wouldn't even return my calls. This is my second bad experience there. I will NEVER go back! I plan to contact NJDA read more

I would give them 0 stars if I could. They are thieves. My husband has been coming to them since he was in his early 20's. I've disliked this place from the moment I walked through the doors about 8 years ago. I would accompany him to his appointments and refused to ever let them be my dentist. Long story short, 8 years later, my husband was told (yet again) that he has a horrible infection in his gums and needs his tooth pulled because the standard procedure of an apico "wouldn't work". I told him they something rubbed me wrong about them and to get a 2nd opinion. He went to a specialist that dealt with apico's. The specialist told him that there was no infection at all and thank God he didn't say yes to having his tooth pulled. This isn't the first time something like this has happened. The staff is rude, occasionally racist I've noticed and "know it alls". They push you and tell you lies that you need different procedures because it's expensive and they need all the money they can possibly sucker anyone into so they can afford their fancy office. Before having ANYTHING done with these people, get a second opinion. We're glad to say that we're going to get all the documents from Team Dental and our new dentist is coming with us to take them to small claims court. read more

Just had my teeth checked and cleaned by Gina Chirchitillo and she was really pretty amazing. No pain at all and a cleaning can be torture by the wrong person. I will request her from now on. Not only did she do a great job that was pain free but she was very knowledgable about certain questions I had and explaining the x-rays that I saw on the large TV screen in front of me. My 9 year old son went to see Dr. Jacobs a few weeks ago to get 4 baby teeth pulled. He was going to get the "laughing gas". I was asked to wait outside, and a minute or so later, my son came out crying, not completely unexpected. He hadn't liked the feeling of the gas. Dr. Jacobs threw his hands up and told me, "I'm not holding children down." I wouldn't have wanted him to. Not a bad thing to say, but it was his attitude that bothered me. He told me there was nothing he could do and that I'd have to take him to the hospital so they could put him out. As I was about to walk out, the receptionist called us back. Another dentist quietly explained that there was another dentist in the practice that could help us, that could out him anesthesia. He was almost whispering, as if he didn't want the other dentist to hear. We made an appointment to go back. Today, we went for the appointment. I already wasn't thrilled with the practice because of Dr. Jacobs' attitude, but we went anyway. I spoke with the receptionist yesterday who told me that we should come in for the appointment at the scheduled time of 9:15, but that we wouldn't be taken then because they had to squeeze someone else in. At close to 10, my son was taken in. For 45 minutes, I had to sit and reassure him that it wasn't going to hurt and it would be quick. We went into the room and the doctor came in to speak with him. My son was whimpering a little and wouldn't show him his teeth. I knew this wasn't going to be easy, but I knew it would work out. He has gone for blood work before and it went fine. When the doctor left the room, the nurse said, "He is only going to try for five minutes and that's it. He's really busy and we have a lot of other patients." That was it. I told my son that we were done here. They obviously have no patience and have no business seeing children. We left and I called my husband to tell him what had happened. When I hung up the phone, my son said, "Those doctors are really mean." I told him that this doctor was very nice; it was the nurse who wasn't. He said, "No, the other one." I asked why. He said, "He told me, 'Get out. You wasted my time and you probably wasted your mom's time, too." Are you serious????!! It took everything in me not turn around and go back there. When I arrived home, I called the practice and asked for Dr. Whiteman. I was asked a million questions, and finally told the nurse, "I don't want to be mean, but I don't want to speak to you. I want to speak to him." She told me she would give him the message, but that he generally doesn't make phone calls. Again, seriously? This is how you run a practice? These are the kinds of people you hire? I would never ever go there and suggest that no one with children go either. The way we were treated is disgusting. read more

My family and I have been going there for years and have work done by most of the dentists in that office and have never had a problem. My experience with Dr. Whiteman and the staff is that they always see to be looking out for your overall health. don't do it!! i needed to have all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed and nj team dental was listed under my insurance company. so i called, made sure they took my insurance and wanted to see what would be covered under the plan because money was tight. they said however, each tooth would be somewhere in the range of $125.00 per tooth even if nothing was covered. i was told after my initial appointment with them that everything was covered....everything!! ...all i had to pay was my $50 co pay....i go for my surgery, they asked if i could pay my $50 co pay so when i was done with surgery i could just leave, so i pay no problem. over the course of the next couple months i go back for 3 follow up appointments because the entire left side of my tongue is numb. they removed bone in my jaw apparently to get a tooth out and caused nerve damage. one random day i receive a bill in the mail from them for $1400.00. yep. they said nothing was covered under insurance after i specifically went to them because i was told everything was covered under insurance. and now all the sudden it averaged to about $350.00 a tooth as opposed to the $125.00 i was quoted if by chance my insurance didn't cover it. i called and they offered payment plans and all that but it just wasn't going to happen. i was lied to. then due to my complaining they said they would submit something else to insurance, i got a new bill for $490.00. convenient right? they're missing the point. its not going to happen. the oral surgeon dr muduli was rude if you ask me and i still cannot feel the left side of my tongue 6 months later. i still get bills and texts to come in for a follow up. don't go there. i was lied to, and now i have to figure out what to do about my tongue on top of all that. read more

I would leave messages and no one would call me back. Everyone I spoke to, told me I had to pay a different amount. They never ran my procedures through my insurance. Just a big headache!! On May 31st, 2016, I went to NJ Team Dental for a Consult to have my wisdom teeth removed. On that date I had x-rays done and Dr. Andrew Whiteman saw me to inform me that I needed 4 of my wisdom teeth removed. He stated that it is best to remove them in order to prevent further issues down the line (e.g. cavities, infections). I agreed that it would be fair enough for me to have them removed and I scheduled my appointment for the following Thursday, June 9th, 2016. The day of my surgery I went in and I was explained by the surgeon (Dr. Sadiq) the procedure that would be done. Following my procedure I was taken to the waiting room and my mother who accompanied me went to the front desk to pay my bill. The lady at the front desk informed my mother that my insurance would cover 90% of my bill and the remaining balance of $215 would be the only amount I would be responsible for. Keep in mind that on the website it states the following: "For your convenience and benefit, we participate in most insurance plans. For any extensive work it is necessary to submit the treatment plan for pre-authorization so that you know what your benefits are and what you will personally be responsible for." My mother was a bit concerned because previously I was told that the company would bill be after the procedure was done, once my insurance processed the claim. However, the woman at the front reassured her that would be the only amount (10%) that I would be responsible for after my insurance processed the claim. On June 16th, I returned to the office for my follow-up exam. After the exam was finished I went to the front desk and the lady at the front Cathy informed me that my balance was $490 and that two of my teeth were not impacted and I would be responsible for that balance and wanted to know how I would be able to pay that amount on that day. I told her that I was not sure what she was talking about because it was told to my mother that my account was settled and that I would only be responsible for 10%. I was forced to sign a payment plan for $50/month in order to leave that day. That evening when I got home I called the office and I told them that I still was very upset and worried as to why and for what reason I was told that I needed two additional teeth removed (that were perfectly fine teeth). The dentist WAS informed on my initial visit that I only had medical insurance and that I needed my insurance informed of what procedure I would need to have done. I am unable to pay the $490. I would have preferred to have gone to Charity Care in order to have the only two teeth removed that I needed. I am very upset and this company is a SCAM. They took money from me without prior authorization as stated on their website. It was not told to me until my FOLLOW-UP appointment what I would be personally responsible for. The procedure was not clarified in terms of what financially I would be responsible for. read more

Dr. Andy is the best! He is gentle, calm, and super friendly. I have been coming to this office for years and I never had a bad experience. I find the office to be very clean and has a spa-like atmosphere. I also love his hygienist Gina she's so gentle and thorough with the cleanings. This office is large and has several specialists which is convenient when you need other work done other then general work. I never had to deal with any of the other specialists, but I have heard about one of the oral surgeons being mean, but from what I understand he is no longer with the practice. Overall, I highly recommend this office, the doctor is fantastic!! read more

I was referred to this dentist office by a family member a few years ago. He said he liked this office, so I gave it a try. I had a few payment issues here and there at the beginning but they got resolved by them not charging me until the eob's came back. That wasn't so bad even though it was a problem, but I should have known when I got my wisdom teeth removed that this place wasn't the best. The doctor that did my wisdom teeth, I couldn't tell you his name (because every time I've been there, I've seen a different doctor), but he was rude from the start. Then he almost didn't do the one tooth, the one that was the whole reason for having the surgery to begin with until I said absolutely not, you do that right now! Half sedated I had to get that out by the way. If they didn't do that one tooth the insurance company wouldn't have covered any of it and I would have had to pay it all out of pocket, not to mention, the problem tooth would have still been in there! A year and a half ago (A year after the wisdom teeth) I had a dark shadow on my tooth, which had always meant a cavity to me. When I got my cleaning that year and they evaluated everything, they told me it was and the following appointment they were going to take care of some cavities. When I went home with the cavity still there I figured they just didn't get time to do that one yet. Then I ran out of money because I had also had a cap done that year. Fast forward to a few months ago (December), my cap falls out. They had to make a new one because the old one wouldn't go back on. When I went to the receptionist after getting the cap back on, she was like ok I think a cleaning is next for you. I told her no, I want the other cavities filled first. When she said all my cavities were taken care of, that's when I knew I had to have paid for work that wasn't done (with the shadow tooth). So I let her schedule me for a cleaning, which was today. I asked the dental hygienist if I was charged for a filling for the shadow tooth. She said yes. When I asked the dentist why, he said that they filled a different part of the tooth and that the cavity I'm talking about must have just happened over the past year and a half and that it hadn't been there before that. Knowing full well that the shadow cavity (during the cleaning the instrument went into the tooth) had been there before I told him, no, it was definitely there before. He goes "says you". Um, yes says me. It's my mouth, I know what has been going on. I have enough problems with my teeth where I would have been spending a lot of money there (clearly, since I already have given them a lot of money). There is no need to double dip. That cavity should have been filled if I paid for any filling on that tooth. If they would go back to their x-rays, they would see that I am right. He told me to find another dentist and I will be happy to! read more

there is something not quite on the up and up about this office. i should have realized when i took my daughter there for wisdom teeth removal, when first the assistants then the doctor were rude and seemed bothered that her mother was there and g forbid asking questions. i went there because its local and they accepted my insurance. little did i know that even though the receptionist called my insurance company in front of me several times assuring me that we were completely covered, that months later we'd be receiving bills for over $1,000.00. Unfortunately that was before my husband went there and was diagnosed with a cavity and given an appointment in 3 months to fill it. who has to wait 3 months for a cavity to be filled? when i questioned them they said thats how they always do it. oh really? then they kept sending bills for work my husband had done (unsatisfactory dental work) and they kept adding charges, with no details. the insurance covers initial visit, which is when they said he had a cavity, then a few weeks later they would tack on another office visit charged. STAY AWAY! I went here last year for a checkup, had a thorough checkup and cleaning by the dental hygienist (I forgot her name, but she was really good). Anyway, she determined that I had one or two cavities and waited to confirm with the dentist. When Whiteman came in, he also agreed that I had two really small cavities. That was that, and I made an appointment to return for the filling, thrilled with my visit. Upon returning and sitting in the chair for my fillings, I was startled to be told that "we're gonna fill 2 of your cavities today and will make an appointment to fill the rest at another time." I said, "wait... I was told that I only had 2 small cavities." This dentist (a woman) looked at the paperwork, confirmed my name, and said "It says here that you have 7." =O ...she looked at my mouth and said "hmm.. yea you do" ...she proceeded to fill 2 on the top (which I shouldn't have even allowed). I left angry and confused, made an appointment to return, but ended up canceling. I recently went to another dentist (Dr. Selvan) who took X-rays, checked my teeth, and concluded that I had ZERO cavities... ZERO. Shocked & skeptical, I left and ended up making an appointment with my UNION dental center. There, I had the most thorough X-ray workup and assessment EVER and was told that I have 1 tiny cavity. Bottom line, unless you're going for a cleaning OR have referral paperwork from your Union that specifies exactly what you need done, DO NOT go here. Also, get copies of any X-rays/paperwork after EVERY doctor visit ...& word of advice, if something feels off, you have the right as a patient to refuse anything you want. read more
