Dr Panzarino changed my life. I had a very distressful tooth situation that was causing me great pain. My primary dentist sent me to an endodontist to treat the problem which they felt was a root canal. But the endodontist said that after reviewing a full set of x-rays on the area in question said there was no problem that a root canal would solve. He referred me to a different endodontist for a second opinion who had the same conclusion. However, he routed me to a different endodontist who agreed to do the root canal but warned me that he wasn't sure that it would relieve me of the constant pain I was having. Fortunately, someone suggested Dr Panzarino to me and I went to see him prior to going to have the root canal. Dr. Panzarino also said that I did not need a root canal and suggested that my problem could be neurological not dental and that I should see a neurologist before getting any dental work done. I followed his advice, and he was 100% correct. A neurologist solved my problem, Dr Panzarino saved me from unnecessary and unsuccessful dental work and who knows how many more months of pain and uncertainty. I was contacted, via email, to schedule a free follow-up check up for a root canal performed at their office. I scheduled and received the free follow-up service. A couple of weeks later I received a bill for the "free " service. I immediately called the office and was told that since my insurance wouldn't cover this "free" additional service I am responsible. I had a root canal done here 25 years ago by Dr. Maya Prabhu, and it was painless and smooth. I recently had another root canal done here by Dr. Anjali Dave. Again, a smooth, painless experience. She explained every step as I requested, and the procedure was over relatively quickly. The practice actually billed for less than the estimated amount. I was referred to this office and the one in Somerville, nearly 3 years ago. Indeed, the service received for two root canals was just outstanding. Not only did all the office staff as well as Dr. Cicalese, treat me in a most professional manner, but they also demonstrated the utmost concern about my condition. After having spent $1000 to save my molar, I was referred here for a re-treatment due to an abscess that developed a few months later. I was dreading the possibility of losing my molar and the possibility of spending another $1000 to try to save it. Mid Jersey Endodontic group knows this dilemma very well and knows how to make money out of it (without even having to try to save my molar). As soon as I arrived, they did the XRAY that the insurance pays for. Then, without even reading the first XRAY, wanted to do a "special" XRAY that ALL INSURANCE does not pay for and will cost $250. When I refused, they sent me the doctor who was very nice. She explained to me that it is impossible for her to do her job and give an honest recommendation without the special X-RAY. She said that the root may be fractured and only the very special XRAY will give the answer. I had no choice but to agree and then was immediately presented with a form making it very clear that I owe them $250 that insurance will not pay for. As soon as I signed it, a 3D xray was done that took them about 2 minutes to perform. After this, the doctor came back and asked more details about the history of what happened and my symptoms before making a clinical judgement that the molar is unlikely to be saved. The $250 special XRAY never gave the definitive answer that she promised. She didn't tell me what was wrong or why the root canal failed. Instead, it confirmed "bone loss" . Something that she already knew from looking at the regular xray and probing under the gum . I couldn't help but feel taken advantage of. Then I realized if this was so necessary for them to do their job, it would be covered by insurance and price negotiated down like every other service. I was referred for a root canal retreatment and saw Dr. Carmen Cicalese (Somerville). He was very good at explaining the entire operation and my different options in terms of what to do he did recommend a 3-D x-ray and he explained and displayed to me exactly what the issue was. I was very impressed by the amount of compassion and time he took in order to explain everything so that I made a better decision. The front office was very pleasant and upon me telling them that I had some discomfort they immediately scheduled me without giving me difficulties. They processed my paperwork online and made it a breeze. For the extraction they referred me to Warren oral surgery and I had a unpleasant experience with the front staff at Warren Oral surgery The staff at Oral surgery made it difficult for me to make an appointment and after the appointment I requested the doctor called me with some information and I never got a callback. read more

Dr. Carmen Cicalese (0/5) - I was experiencing pain which my dentist examined but the bitewing did not indicate anything was wrong. The best guess with the information was possibly grinding but she admitted that the symptoms did not fully align and referred me to have further evaluation with CBCT. I went back here expecting to have a CBCT. Instead I had more bitewings performed although I told them that I just had these xrays completed days earlier. Dr. Carmen Cicalese did all the same tests that my regular dentist performed. I explained that my reason for going there was further evaluation with CBCT, given that more issues can be observed with this technology and that it identified a previous infection not observed using conventional bitewing xray. Also, my symptoms mirrored that infection. He was adamant that the it was simply grinding and completely dismissed my request for the CBCT. He instructed me to get a nightguard and confident that after a week, that everything would improve. WRONG! I purchased a nightguard that day (tried multiple) and wore it for a week. My pain and health progressively became worse - the pain was so excruciating that it became difficult to function, eat, drink or talk without pain. The OTC medication regimen given did not help with pain and had many side-effects. A co-worker scheduled an emergency evaluation with his dentist who did perform a CBCT, and identified that I had a large abscess. If Dr. Carmen Cicalese wasn't so stubborn and actually took me as the patient seriously when I asked for the CBCT, then this infection could have been identified much sooner. This is pain and impacts on my health that could have been avoided. A doctor's knowledge is useless if he makes decisions based on his own ego not what is best for the patient. read more

I saw Dr Lal three weeks ago I had a root canal and when he gave me the Novocain shot I swelled up like a chipmunk . Yesterday I went back for my second visit I told Dr Lal that I swelled up from the Novocain he proceeded to tell me I was not allergic and gave me a Novacaine shot I sought up like a chipmunk it's like I still have the abscess my cheek is swollen and I'm having pain whatever you do go to a different group and don't go to these people they don't listen to what you say and they ignore you I will be taking them to small claims Court to get my money back .Who give somebody a Novacaine shot for the second time when you told him the first time you blew up like a chipmunk who does that the abscess was gone now it's like I have the abscess back because you gave me a shot they blew up my mouth and gave me a huge bump inside by my gum what kind of doctor are you read more

Was referred to this collection of scam dentistry artists by my dentist for an evaluation. Dr. Pizzarino performed an X-Ray and spent about 3-5 minutes looking into my mouth and gave his verdict. I went back to my own dentist and had the operation done there. This office absolutely did not perform any operation, and yet, I received a bill for "incomplete therapy" for $225. I called to explain the situation and originally they claimed that they did perform an operation, but eventually relented and reduced the fee to $127 by taking out the X-Ray (it was originally improperly billed to me and then adjusted to be covered by my insurance). All this time my call was answered by this very rude lady who did not want to listen to your explanation and (I'm not kidding) hung up after being asked politely how we could proceed with the case. When called the second time, she simply threatened to sue me for harassment and hung up again (again, I am not kidding). In this day and age where quality of service matters, I can't believe how this office can still got away with a) misrepresentation and misbilling of patients' treatment and b) exhibiting such rude behavior toward your customers when politely asked about these basic questions to resolve a bill that they screwed up to begin with. Maybe because they know that I won't be performing the operation at their location so they could choose to bill me with whatever they want? They can always refer you to a collection agency even when they're in the wrong, right? Choose to have treatment here if you are prepared for headaches from misbillings, unresolved charges and unfriendly, flat-out rude behavior by the staff. Dr. Annika Luccarelli is the worst. Went in to have a root canal. She didn't bother to explain that I had a choice of anasthesia. I found that out on my way to the emergency room from the receptionist at the front desk. That is something that the so called doctor should have explained to me. While in the chair, prior to having to go to the ER, she proceeded to shoot me in the cheek with the anesthesia and when I told her that I felt nothing she used another tube. Oh, but before that she offered to run back and forth between me and another patient to finish my root canal. I am still flabbergasted by her incredible poor judgement in making that offer. They, obviously do not leave enough time between patients. To make a long story short, I ended up in the emergency room, because she used another tube because I wasn't getting numb fast enough and she had another patient waiting. Again, incredible poor judgement. Avoid at all cost. read more

No one enjoys a root canal, however this team made it a painless event. The receptionist explained the insurance and how the billing would work with my policy. My experience with this business is based solely on a recent root canal procedure done by Dr. Maya Prabhu. Not only is she a truly lovely person, she is hands down, a root canal "magician". This was the second root canal she did for me, the other being many years ago and the experience was the same, nothing short of fantastic. She performs this procedure along with her technician in a manner similar to a well choreographed "ballet". No kidding. While I was certainly tense during the procedure, I definitely had no need to worry about pain during or after. Needless to say, should I need another such procedure, she'll be my "go to". Doctor Panzarino, did an excellent job during my Root Canal procedure in September 2017. Office sent me a notice for a free follow up to make sure tooth was doing well. All is well after 8 months, and for the record the Root Canal procedure was painless. I highly recommend this Doctor for your root canals who is the expert on these procedures in lieu of your dentist. I reached the New Brunswick office to make an appointment and spoke with Sarah. I was in pain and asking for the 1st available appointment. She immediately snaps at me, "well, we're booked until July!" I say okay, this is an emergency, I'm in pain. Her reply was to give me their business days & hours. This doesn't answer the question about how they treat emergencies, but I went on to repeat, this is an emergency and I'm in pain. She responds to me, "I'm trying to figure out what works for you!" Well, doesn't seem that way to me. I just said twice it's an emergency. I say, "Is there any way I can be seen today?" She snapped back, "NO, do you need a Saturday? Our 1st Saturday apt is at the end of July!" I say no that's not going to work. She said "Ok!" and hung up the phone. This woman was rude, nasty, dismissive, offensively impolite, curt and abrupt. I've never visited this office and can't comment on the doctors. I will never visit this office. I did call the Old Bridge office and spoke with Judy, she was helpful & lovely. read more
