This review is about my experience attending Weedman's annual 420 block party! This event is such a celebration of a flower that makes the world a happier place to be! This review is for the day event. There is also an after party that looked like a good time. Something I immediately noticed up arrival was the level of security provided at the event throughout the day. There was a police and security staff presence. You are throughly scanned with a metal detector to go inside or to the outdoor space. Your purse is open and looked through. Several individuals in line had pat downs. The security was very thorough and still friendly. A lot of effort goes into making this feel like safe space and I really appreciate that. The block party was happening this year! A DJ provided some great music throughout the day. Outside in State Street there were some amazing street vendors selling clothing, jewelry, and make up. Terri's tshirts had the most amazing shirts. Every item is hand made and unique. Most of his tshirts also had matching tie dye patterns on the front and back. I will definitely shop with him again. After shopping we headed inside and ordered some food. There is also a smoothie bar on the left side. You can get your food and drink medicated or non medicated. It's an extra $10 to get an item medicated with 300g of thc. You could not order off the regular menu for this event. Instead there was a whiteboard of specials to help with speeding up service. The food was amazing! Food took longer than expected but we didn't mind as we were enjoying the party. It was disappointing for two of us to have our food brought out after everyone else had finished eatting and bagged up. We had to remind the cashier twice we were missing food. It was 20-30 minutes after everyone else's food was served that the last meals arrived. Definitely an area of improvement for next year. After lunch we moved to the back lounge area and there were more vendors, but these were all cannabis products. The prices were insanely low. The variety of items to pick from was fun to check out. The gentleman selling the infused beverages was giving out free samples. Several vendors had samples as well but he and his product were most memorable. There back outdoor lounge had some very comfy looking outdoor furniture and a stage for performances. Next time I'd my bring my food there to eat. I always love the Street style art that's all over the facility. The decor is the best. They even decked out their ATM. If you are into cannabis this is really a cool spot to visit, especially on 4/20. read more

I wasn't able to try the food but I have a major pet peeve (biased review alert) for unprofessionalism. I attempted to order from here last week. I called to find out if they delivered and they said they did but we had to order through grub hub. We placed an order and got excited to receive our lunch at work. We then got a message saying the order was canceled. We called back to see if we could pick it up since the delivery was canceled and was told their ovens weren't working so they were not cooking at all. Is that not a message they could've given when we called the first time attempting to place an order??? The website was also extremely hard to maneuver and definitely needs to be updated. A pleasantly surprised five stars! Despite my decidedly unaltered state, I did indeed have the munchies with an indescribable urge for some chicken and waffles. A quick scan of a 3rd party delivery app for said dish led me to the mercurial Mr. Forchion's joint. I ordered chicken and waffle sandwich with a side of "I'm So Stoned" Fries. A few minutes later, a very pleasant woman called to let me know that they regrettably had run out of Willie Nelson chili for the night, and were unable to complete my fries as ordered. I was offered the choice of turkey bacon in lieu of the chili (hard pass!) or an order of sweet potato fries topped with honey and cinnamon. Clearly I made the right choice, because those fries were absolutely amazing. They even threw in an empanada for the trouble. Nice touch. The chicken and waffle sandwich was perfectly good. No one is trying to redefine a classic here: "standard size" waffle folded over a few pieces of nicely fried chicken tenders, with some sweet chili sauce on the side (which seemed to be duck sauce with some chili flakes sprinkled in. Look, it works.). The menu here is oddly extensive and should satisfy all your cholesterol-fueled desires. I look forward to trying other items in person soon. read more

Ordered delivery for a dozen Weedman wings and fries. Delivery service was excellent. I selected 'hard fry' as an option for the wings, but I didn't find the wings very hard fried - the fat was still more gooey than crisp. But, the wings tasted a little overdone. I had been wanting to go here since I heard of it a few years back and finally my friend and I made a time to go. The food was simple but really good and fresh, the cook and staff were all really pleasant. As were the other patrons we encountered. It strikes me as a community hub, which is always nice to see. They were about to introduce shrimp poor boys to the menu the afternoon we were there. No doubt, NJ Weedman and his Joint have a long and interesting story to tell, but that is best left for historians and devotees of the man. Me? I was just looking for a cup of coffee after exiting Trenton City Hall across the street. And, I was successful. The small shop with the brightly painted van out front was empty when I entered, but I heard rustling in the back, and soon enough Weedy's son came to see me to inquire of my desire. When all I wished for was hot coffee, he easily obliged by pointing me to the coffee corner where self service was the order of the day. What's more, he asked if I was a government worker. No. I'm in private practice, but thanks for asking. Never mind, then. You can have a free cup, too. His father believed in hospitality and graciousness to all, and he was continuing that generous tradition. Felt a little guilt not ordering anything else to put some gelt in his cashbox, but I didn't see anything within sight. The coffee was very good (Jamaican Blue?), and stayed hot all day in my coach given our steaming weather. My curiosity has the better of me. I want to go back and learn the Weedman's story. I'm not reviewing the restaurant because I did not have the pleasure of eating there. My review is about the dispensary. I know some reviewers are not happy with the cover charge; quite frankly I wasn't either at the time when I got there! But I got it afterwards! He has to charge a cover because he only lets so many people in at the time. Could you imagine if they were just looking??! I heard about it from my brother but was skeptical about going alone because of Trenton's reputation; being a middle aged white women. Sounds crass yes; but true! My daughter went with me and I was pleasantly surprised! Parking around the corner was easy. Many people going to his place so they are in and out basically. We had to ask the people in the restaurant where to go and the young girl was more than pleasant and willing to help us. We found where to go through; which was really a cool experience. We had to wait our turn and then were wanded and charged the cover charge. Actually Smart business!! The man who started with us and wanded us and directed us; which was so nice, he introduced himself as E. E was a sweetheart whom I really enjoyed. I was talking about him even when I left. Ok. The dispensary has many options for smoking and eating. I much prefer the edibles than the flower. I wasn't totally impressed by the descriptions on the labels, but E made sure I knew what was what! He took really good care of me knowing I didn't know what I was doing!! I knew what I wanted but there was so much more!! Glad I only took a designated amount of money or I surely would have spent hundreds! I bought some edibles that I know would suit my needs. Unfortunately the box of 10 500mg gummy's, do not agree with me. I get nauseous before I get high. Just something to know! All in all it was a great experience and I will be back!! While waiting for my food in a nearby establishment, I was checking on yelp other spots in the neighborhood and this place popped up, I had never heard of one quite like this, I don't know if it's for lack of paying attention or lack of interest, but looking at the pictures this one place definitely caught my interest and I bookmarked it. The day of my visit I actually did not intend on stopping here, but the powers that be had other intentions.. I went to two spots and they were both closed, I looked up and literally here it was. I go in check out the place, there is a section for complimentary coffee, nice touch.. I looked over the menu and decided on the crab cakes... I really wanted the salmon burger I had seen pictured but I'm currently not eating bread so that was a wash. I added to my crab cakes a side of sweet potato fries, they looked delicious in the pics as well. I sat and waited for my food, a few interesting patrons came in and ordered as well, I know that salmon burger is delicious because it got a few orders while I was waiting. Once my food was up, I paid and headed to the office, I will say next time I will either call ahead or wait outside.. the interior has a certain aroma, evident from the title of the place that I'd prefer not to pick up. But I will say the aroma of the food that filled my car on the way back to the office was heavenly. I couldn't get back to the office fast enough, I was so intrigued. I had every right to be, the flavors were amazing! The crab cakes were on a bed of mixed greens topped with blueberries.. Delicious!! The sweet potato (chips) were topped with like a honey/fruit glaze.. seriously? who does that?! It was so good! Full disclosure: I am, in some areas of my life, an uptight puritan. I disapprove, personally, of recreational drug use. I'm in the minority, but I'm not confrontational, and can make decisions for myself without imposing my ideas on anyone else. I've known plenty of people who were able to partake and still function normally, so I don't really judge. I also spent more than a decade living in Trenton, and watched with rage and a broken heart, the neighborhood kids choose to become drug dealers; I watched the soccer moms in their minivans, pull up alongside my house to buy; I witnessed petty turf wars and gang violence associated with this, and it ruined the quality of my life. The problems in Trenton are many, and the causes are complicated, and this is perhaps not the most appropriate place to delve into the matter. But the War on Drugs has certainly contributed to the dystopia in some of the tougher neighborhoods. I bet if drugs were legal, and/or the penalties associated with selling/buying were more sensible, we'd all be better off. One of the best things about living in the United States is that we can take a look at how one state handles a particular issue, and legislate with some experienced-based knowledge, so it's interesting to see what's happening in Colorado. It's interesting to see what's happening in states that permit medical marijuana use. We can learn. I also admire panache. I admire an underdog. I admire people who are willing to risk their comfort by facing off against a disinterested or self-serving authority -- not in an oppositional defiant, fighting-for-the-sake-of-fighting, sense; but rather, my respect is for those folks who campaign with a purpose, a desire to educate, and need to help those without a voice. Ed Forchion is that person. It's always a thrill to see his Weedmobile, and now it's thrilling and amusingly heartwarming to see it parked across from Trenton City Hall, in front of his new restaurant, the Joint. Restaurants come and go all the time, especially in Trenton, but there's definitely a need for quick food in that spot, just steps away from City Hall, a short walk to the State House, and courts, as well as dozens of other businesses; all of which are filled with busy people. The Joint covers all the go-to lunch grub, and also features plenty of more healthy options - smoothies, salads, etc. We ordered wraps and salads for a lunch meeting, and were pleased with the helpfulness of the staff, and the quality of food - it didn't knock our (hypothetical) socks off, but it was more than adequate. I noticed a eat-in diner with a plate of chicken and waffles that looked great: I'm definitely getting that next time - so the Joint could earn another star. If this spot only offered wraps like the one we had, it's probably a only 3-star restaurant, but the novelty of the Weedman, as well as the intrigue of the other menu items, definitely gives them a bump to 4. I am totally going back! Ed Forchion's hope is to provide good food for good prices. He does do that. Most of the menu items are bargains at either $4.20 or $7.10 -- both numbers are pot references. Also full disclosure - I dislike reggae, but I am not deducting stars for that personal preference. Just mentioning it because you will get reggae, at a slightly louder-than-normal volume in this establishment. But it's clean, and everyone is friendly, and concerned with customer satisfaction. One of the employees was mowing the lawn in the lot next to the restaurant - I believe this leads out to the Sanctuary. I do not need refuge or saving, but based on what I could see, it looks like a visually agreeable, relaxed place. The Weedman's Joint is definitely worth a visit! read more

This place is a great neighborhood find! Less than a 5 minute drive from the Trenton train station. Great food for great prices. I ordered the salmon burger with the spring mix salad. The burger was large and the owner told me he recently upgraded the quality of the salmon. I believe it. He packaged up my to go order quickly and efficiently, even included a big thick napkin to clean up the bbq sauce! Service is super friendly. Liked the Ray Charles bobble head by the counter. DOPEST RESTURANT IN NEW JERSEY! They don't spend a ton on decor, but they pass the savings on to you. I stopped in for a coffee and the novelty but then I saw the menu (which was full of colorfully named food items). The $4.20 lunch menu had a meatball sandwich that came with fries and I had to try this place out. Basically it's a small, affordable luncheonette with all weed themed menu items. The food comes to go and the place was busy the whole time I was there. This place is right across from city hall and down the street from the Federal courthouse. Don't let the name bias you; the restaurant's not about weed, it's about simple, tasty food served by friendly people. We were just passing through, and had an hour delay at the Trenton train station. It was either McDonalds, or an iffy pizza joint, or a 10m walk to NJ Weedman's. I'm so glad we walked. The location is a little bit of a hole in the wall, but it's pretty clean, and the staff is very welcoming. We opted not to have the buffet, and went for wraps + sweet potato wedges. The wrap was simple, with ground turkey and just enough of their signature Bumblebee sauce to liven it up. The sweet potato wedges were sliced thin and fried fresh, then drizzled with a maple syrup.
