Great pizza! Best we have had in that area. It's a little loud because it wide open but the pizza makes up for that. The service was great.

Kept putting off a visit because every time I looked at the lot it was PACKED. Finally, decided to give it a go for a late lunch. When we arrived we realized that they are probably NEVER packed, most of the parking is likely folks visiting the plumbing store next door. So, find a parking spot and give it a go. The waitress and cashier were super nice. The food was pretty quick and pretty reasonable. I ordered the cheese sticks & marinara because another table did the same. No regrets there. It was very tasty but could have been left in the frier longer as it was a rubbery bounce rather than a chewy gooey. For lunch I had the meatball sub. I ordered the small and got what I ordered: small. Pro-tip: order the large. I will next time. The meatball sub was very delicious. I only wish I would have split fries with my lunch partner as it was a bit lonely. But, that was on me. Definitely a spot I'll try more of the menu of. read more

We haven't been to Sals for a couple years because we had moved out of town. We're back in town and my wife, who has eliminated pizza from her diet decided treat herself with pizza. So we picked Sals, and were glad we did. They were not busy so we were waited on quickly.The pizza took a little longer than usual, but that was because it slightly overcooked. I would of sent it back but I decided to taste it first. Personally I throughly enjoyed it, and told my wife that if I could do 4.5 stars, I would, but I can't. So 4 stars on the pizza. My wife said that she thought it was 3 stars, she said it was good but she could taste the burnt, then she turned a piece showed the burnt bottom. But we both did enjoy it, just one of us more than the other. Personally I don't enjoy most pizzas places, but Sals makes a great pizza and when you get 4 stars or even 3 for that matter on a burnt pizza, the pizza must be pretty dang good. Yes I could of complained and they would of made another and probably discounted it. But we enjoyed it. I will let them know the next time to play attention to our pizza. read more

Ordered a Philly cheesesteak with onions and tomatoes. For takeout. Got home and there's no cheese on the cheese steak. Called them back and they said I only ordered onions and tomatoes. I said I ordered a Philly cheesesteak with onions and tomatoes they argued with me on the phone and would not provide any compensation or discount for another visit. I guess when you order a Philly cheesesteak and they ask you what you want on it you gotta make sure you say you want cheese. Ordering a cheesesteak does not mean you'll get cheese at this location. Sal's pizza was ok. The crust was a little thick for my liking but the pepperoni pizza was good. The combination wasn't that great and I would avoid that. I would go back to eat it but not to take it home again. read more

We use to like this place for pizza. The last couple times the pizza was terrible, too much crust and little ingredients. Stopped in here after a little shopping trip. Turned out to be a nice local restaurant with really friendly service. We shared a pizza - I give it a 5 stars and hubby rates it a 3 because he didn't think the balance of ingredients was what it should be. All fresh ingredients and a homemade crust - really good! IF YOU'RE NOT A LOCAL, AVOID THIS PLACE!!! Wife and I rented a house a couple miles away and decided to grab a pizza to go the other night. Placed the order and was told it would be 30 mins. No problem, I put $5 in the tip jar. More people came in and ordered and got their pizzas while I waited. No biggie I thought, they seem to know everyone that comes in. After an hour I was told it was almost done. At an hour and a half, I kid you not, they told me they were out of pepperoni and asked what else I'd like. Now I didn't care about the pepperoni, but when other folks come in and order pepperoni pizzas AFTER me, and get their pizzas while I'm waiting, they obviously could care less about the out of town guy's pizza. Keep in mind that I asked three times for an update and was always told it was almost done. Finally asked for a refund, went to Dominos a block away, and had pizza in 20 mins. Hindsight is 20/20 and so are restaurant reviews. read more

When it comes to pizza in Lancaster County there's not too many choices. Yet thats no excuse why Sal's has to have so many issues with its pizza. Again, all my reviews are to explain what can be *improved*. Problems: The sauce - Either its not being seasoned or is canned, it tastes like tomato soup. Pizza sauce should not taste like soup. Improving the sauce would definitely improve it the most The dough - One time I had a pizza from Sal's that had raw dough in the crust end. It looks like they need to cook it longer Greasy - I'm not the biggest fan of NY Style pizza, but even I know the pizza shouldn't be swimming in its own grease. Something needs to be done about this as myself and most people I know like pizza to be crisp, not soggy. I'll be in town again soon, and I'll be happy to try this place again and follow up my review if needed. read more

Sal's is exactly the way you remember it, looks just like an 80's pizza spot inside. We have never eaten inside, we ALWAYS get take out. The pizza is solidly good. Ordered two pizzas, ham and pineapple and pepperoni. Both were solid, nice soft dough, not a crazy amount of cheese, plentiful toppings. One was a bit overcooked but still tasty. Hand tossed crust, not too thin or too thick. It did take longer for our order to be ready that they quoted but the holidays are very busy. Sal's is a solid choice for pizza, perfect take out spot. If you are looking for a romantic Italian spot, Sal's doesn't aim for that. It's a simple pizza joint, period. read more

My go to place for pizza in Kilmarnock. You can get a meat lovers (with full slices of bacon) for $20! And the staff is so nice.

Only two pizza places in this town, so I tried the one that was the oldest and most established ...big mistake. The place is very dirty and neglected. Should have been a sign for us to leave , but we tried the pizza and it was far from a good pizza . The other pizza place In town was much better but that's not saying much. Sals is absolutely awful and a waste of money. The pizza we had was soggy dough, would of been better off getting pizza from Walmart. Also our waitress forgot about our drinks and also forgot one of our meals all together. She didn't come check on us and we had to wave her down multiple times. When they sat us down the table was still dirty and they didn't clean it for 5 minutes so we just stared at dirty dishes. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

When we visited Kilmarnock, my wife wanted Italian one night (pasta particularly) so we decided to order take out form Sal's. It was honestly the worst mistake we made on our trip. Not only did they not write down the order when we made it over the phone, but they took an additional thirty minutes to produce spaghetti and meat sauce for her. She is not a picky eater when it comes to spaghetti but she told me it was cold and very bland. Very upset she told me she wished she had stopped by Walmart and gotten some spaghetti from the frozen food section. Save yourself the trouble, get something frozen and heat it up in the oven or microwave. I can't imagine if they mess up spaghetti that anything else they make can be better. read more

This place is small and friendly restaurant with excellent fresh pizza. Toppings, cheese and sauce are all delicious and and the crust is amazing. Salads aren't too good here but definitely some of the best local pizza I've had. Service wasn't great when it was a crowded Sunday, it was very slow and it could have just been under-staffed. read more

Their steak and cheese is the gold standard to which we rate all other steak and cheese subs. The pizza is hand tossed, definitely fresh and made to order with whatever you want. We tried the Stromboli for the first time today and we think we've found another item to go back for. Families, politicians and the police all go there.
