    Brunch Special: Salmon Tartar
    Elizabeth B.

Holy moly I will be back! Kicking myself for taking so long to come check out this spot 30 minutes from Montross! Went for brunch around 11 on a Sunday and there was plenty of seating available. Started with mimosas and they had so many options to choose from, landed on a jalapeño one which was unique and refreshing. For starters we had fried oysters which were fried perfectly and served with a very spicy sauce! The she-crab soup was genuinely the best I have ever had in the northern neck. Would come back just for that alone. I ordered the special which was a salmon tartar served on avocado toast and it was amazing, I could have eaten another serving. To finish brunch we had espresso martinis and again.. the best one I've ever had. I thought the prices were fair and the service was great and everyone was friendly. Can't say enough good things and I can't wait to come back and try more things on the menu!

Honestly? Better than the period theater of Colonial Williamsburg. Our waiter spoke to us with the southernly gentleman's cadence of Revolutionary times. With our treble-tined forks, candle lighting, and bowls of mutton, we felt like settlers meeting to gossip about the upcoming visit of General Washington to give the first commencement address at nearby St. Margrets. And to think we got all this in our humble little town.

Thank you, Heather for a lovely service. Thank you, Greg for the history that makes this restaurant so rich. We decided on the main dining room. But I will go back for the patio! The food is scrumptious! Perfectly priced for the amount given. I highly recommend this experience in Tappahannock. Cannot wait to go back!

A group of 6 of us drove from Richmond to try this new restaurant and we were all impressed with the venue, food and service. The drive was peaceful and easy since it was mostly back roads. The building from 1710 has been beautifully restored and much has been preserved. It's a small venue so I recommend reservations. The outside area looks lovely for warmer days. The owners were delightful and came around chatting with everyone. All of our food was amazing. The bar area is nice but I was surprised it's listed as a bar on the Yelp website. The highlight is definitely their food. The drinks are good but the food is the star. Worth the drive!

Finally, a real fine dining restaurant in this area! This was our first visit and met the owner and heard the great story and history of the building. Look forward to coming again.

Finally able to come after following on social media for some time and experience exceeded expectations! Great food: lamb lollipops, oyster stew, rockfish, and surf and turf. Amazing service from Dana and sweet ambiance. Wonderful date night. Our new favorite in the northern neck!

We were seated in the Lounge area near the entrance and it was pretty nice. My MIL loved the cow painting that was hanging. There is a lot of animal art where we were seated. The service is great here. We were checked in on a lot, but not in an overbearing way. This is located in Libbie Mill, so there is a lot of free street parking and parking lot spaces. They had women and men's restrooms. This is a sister restaurant to Julep's in downtown. I have been wanting to try this spot for a long time now and am happy we finally did. They are very creative with their dishes here and I think sometimes it makes a big bang and other times it falls a little flat. My MIL and I both got the springria. She got the red and I got the white. The red was the better of the two. We started with a caesar salad and the lamb empanadas for the table. The salad was fine, it had too much going on for me. We all loved the lamb empanadas (our waitress even said they were her favorite). We all loved the butter and bread choices that we started the meal with. I really liked the cornbread. For mains, my fiance and I shared the sirloin special. My MIL got the soft shell crab. My mom got the branzino. I love that they split the sirloin for us, it was so kind and perfectly portioned for us. It was a tasty special. The branzino was a great cut of fish, however, the sauce combinations made it a bit confusing, so we weren't the biggest fan of the flavor. My MIL adored her soft shell crab. We all had a wonderful time here!

Midway through our dinner the main lights dimmed a bit which made the string lights look like stars making for a very romantic atmosphere. They do offer outdoor seating as well but we opted to stay inside, however we saw a fire pit and corn hole which could make for a fun outdoor evening. The food was amazing and came out extremely quickly. I think we waited less than 10 minutes which surprised me. I ended up getting the soft shell crab special which came with 3 small soft shell crabs and two sides. The Caesar salad was well dressed but was missing the salty umami flavor I come to expect with Caesar it almost tasted a bit bland but the romaine used was fresh and I appreciated the crunch/green it offered my meal, I don't think I'd recommend it being worth the upcharge and will probably try another side when returning. The fries are handcut and delicious, they also have old bay along with the typical salt & pepper on the table which when sprinkled on to the fries definitely take it up a notch. My crabs were phenomenal, perfectly fried and the butter sauce they provided with it was a delicious addition for dipping. My partner got a pulled pork sandwich and he shared that it was very good. It had a nice vinegar kick expected from Carolina BBQ. Our server Zachary was also extremely attentive and made sure we had our meals, waters were topped off and gave us any and all accoutrements we could need when asked. Overall, we had a great experience at Old Rapp Taphouse, we went on a Saturday night and found there to be a steady stream of people coming in and out but still received such great service and food. Highly recommend.

Verified Untappd venue (iykyk), with what seems like endless taps and an even more impressive selection of cans/bottles. Bartenders are pretty damn knowledgeable about the product as well, which as a beer nerd is perfect. The food is fantastic. From appetizers (the fried vegetables are heaven) to entrees, it's the perfect amalgamation of classic bar food and Indian cuisine. Today when I was in I had the Taphouse (Lamb) Burger with fries and a side of their Makhani sauce (Pic attached). If a place has a lamb burger it's my immediate go to every time, and I have to say Taphouse has the best I've ever had. The lamb was cooked and seasoned perfectly, the vegetables were fresh, and that feta is that perfect accompaniment to round it off. The Makhani sauce is just good on everything. Could drink it. Not kidding. The venue offers a welcoming outdoor area and a semi-private indoor space perfect for events. I've booked Taphouse for both corporate and personal gatherings, and it's the easiest, most reliable spot in the County for hosting by far. Beyond the food and drink, Taphouse, and especially Sunny (the owner) are one of the most community engaged businesses in Southern Maryland. They have put on countless events supporting all types of local organizations, and always work with nonprofits when they need anything. Taphouse and Sunny himself really serve as one of the best ambassadors of St. Mary's County, especially since a large portion of the customers are transient. All in all, 100% a must try if in the area. But be warned, if you do, you will be coming back constantly.

I recently visited for the first time with a large group of family members, and despite our sizable party, the service for food was impressively quick and efficient. The food was delicious, making for a satisfying meal. What truly sets Fatty's Taphouse apart is their fun draft beer wall. This self-serve feature allows you to pour your own beer using a card. However, as a first-time visitor, I found the process a bit confusing. Unfortunately, the staff didn't provide an explanation on how to use the card or operate the beer wall, which meant I had to ask several questions to figure it out depending on the staff availability. A brief tutorial or some guidance from the staff would have made the experience smoother and more enjoyable. Despite this minor hiccup, my overall experience at Fatty's Taphouse was decent. The quick service and good food were definite highlights. With a bit of improvement in customer service, particularly in explaining how the draft beer system works to newcomers, this place could easily become a top choice for both regulars and first-time visitors. If you're looking for a place to enjoy a wide variety of nice draft beer and tasty food to match, Fatty's Taphouse is worth a visit. Just be sure to ask how things work if you're new to the self-serve beer experience!

They did a phenomenal job creating such a magical atmosphere--I honestly wish they could keep the decorations up all year . While waiting for our table, we grabbed seats at the bar and ordered cocktails. I had the prickly pear margarita, and she ordered a cider sour. Both were fantastic, though I wish the bar had mentioned the holiday cocktail menu earlier. I didn't learn about the festive drinks until we were seated and our server, Lindsay, walked us through the winter specials. The "Sweater Weather" cocktail sounded amazing (white tequila and coconut milk ) and is definitely something I'll be back to try. We stuck with our go-to appetizer, the goat cheese bruschetta, which was delicious as always. For entrées, we went classic brunch: the hangover burger and the shrimp and grits. My girlfriend loved her burger, and Sedona's shrimp and grits remain one of my absolute favorites--perfectly seasoned and cooked. Even though we were full, we couldn't pass up the seasonal dessert, tiramisu. It was the perfect size--just enough to share without pushing us over the edge. Lol. Another successful meal at Sedona! The service is consistently top-notch, and our server Lindsay was hands down the best--knowledgeable, attentive, and with an amazing personality. We loved her so much, we wished she could've joined us for brunch. The manager also stopped by a couple of times to check on us, which we really appreciated. If you haven't experienced Sedona yet, you are seriously missing out. And definitely ask to sit in Lindsay's section!

First, let's start off with the wait. I'm used to waiting for a table at Sedona especially on a Saturday, but today the wait was extra long. Once we sat and ordered appetizers it took over 40 minutes to get our apps. To make matters worse our nachos came out with the cheese not even melted and with barely any protein. Seeing as this was not the first time I ordered nachos I was extremely upset. To address the issue I had to leave my outside table and walk inside to the hostess to see if they could locate my server as she never came and checked on us. We didn't see her for over 50 minutes :-/ The only star of today's lunch were the Thai glazed wings. My husband ordered the land and sea and steak was overcooked. My devils pass pasta was okay, but extremely greasy. The manager did stop by to offer something for the nacho issue which we appreciated. Sedona you need to work on hiring more staff to make things run smoothly. You seem to be understaffed in the kitchen and on the floor. We left feeling extremely disappointed and will not be returning for a long time. Also forgot to add that the strawberry tres leches cake is extremely dense and flavorless. Did not enjoy and do not recommend.
