He's very easy going, speaks both Chinese and English extremely fluently. He texts to confirm your appointments and is overall really friendly. I took a lesson with another instructor a few years ago and that instructor drove to the practice area before letting me drive. I felt Jerry prepared me well. To book your appointments you call in and Joyce speaks English but the boss only speaks Chinese. Joyce isnt always there, so that may get frustrating if you don't speak Chinese. I passed my test on the first try with Kenny as my instructor! Going in, I was definitely afraid of failing because I felt completely unprepared for it. I previously had lessons from other instructors in the same driving school and scheduled a refresher driving lesson in March 2020 because of the pandemic lockdown. I had to keep pushing the lesson back due to COVID and school til late December, which had been months since my last lesson (Pre-COVID). Kenny made the lesson easy going and went over my weak points (turning/entering an intersection/accelerating/maintaining my speed, etc). The lesson mainly was to gauge what I remembered and what I needed to work on before my test (which was 10 days away). He also gave me the recommendation of scheduling another lesson right before my test to warm up and get used to driving the car as I've only driven his car once. That lesson was great and really helped me ease my nerves!!! He was very, very patient, calm, and encouraging throughout both lessons and reminded me of those tips that would help me pass my test! I was referred to this driving school by a peer who took lessons here and said it was a really good school with unbeatable pricing. Although I was not ready to get my driving license, I enrolled my brother who took the ten lesson package with two road test and he finished within a week and passed on the first try. Due to time restraints, I also did the same thing and I passed on my first try! It's hard but it's doable. Jason was my instructor and he was extremely patient and understanding. He was able to see what I struggled with and gave me multiple ways to fix the issue so that I was able to have a lot of room to practice and do what was comfortable for me. He's extremely tentative to his students and a very kind instructor, but also wants you to succeed so he will challenge you. I really admire his dedication to his work! Before signing up with No.1 Driving School, I have never driven on the road with my learner's permit. But, I still managed to pass the road test on my first attempt. My coach, Andrew Tsao is a DMV certified driving school instructor and able to teach in fluent English and Chinese. He taught me in a smooth and calm tone throughout each of my five 1.5 hr courses. He noticed every little detail to perfect my way of driving, including my improper choice of footwear which largely affected my precision in braking and accelerating, minor maneuver changes here and there which would help beginners prevent some common mistakes, etc. Andrew Tsao is young comparing to other coaches at the same driving school, so he is not only fun to talk with but also always remembers to send text reminder the day before each course. Plus, he is very informative and responsive either during the course or through text. Even though he works 7 days a week, remember you still need to schedule early in order to squeeze into his tight schedule. Before taking lessons here, I took 8 (1.5hr long) lessons at another school and failed my first road test. My brother took lessons with John and passed on the first try so I decided to take lessons with No. 1 Driving School. John was fully booked so I had to take lessons with another instructor (they will recommend good instructors if you need). His name was Mr. Dung (I'm not sure how to spell his last name) and he was awesome in observing, explaining, correcting and encouraging me. Take him if you know mandarin because the other instructors that speak English will probably be less flexible on times. Mr. Dung noticed what I needed to improve in and explained on what I can do to do it better (right turns, u-turns, etc). He was also very encouraging; kept saying you can do it which boosts your confidence. I took 1 (also 1.5hr long) lesson the day before my second road test and passed. DEFINITELY a good instructor and I passed SOLELY because he explained everything clearly. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. P.S. I didn't practice driving after my first road test. The lesson I took with No. 1 Driving School was a year after I failed; which is also why I highly recommend. read more

After failing my road test 4 times, Jason really drilled all the skills on the road test and more to allow me to finally pass. He is very encouraging and does not make you nervous behind the wheel. If you are truly struggling with, for example, parallel parking, Jason will make you practice until you are confident. At some of the other driving schools, they'll just make you parallel park twice and call it a day. He always told me "you have the skills to drive but just need to be confident" and for some reason, that really helped me out. He also speaks English which is a huge plus. Even if you make a mistake, Jason always says "that's how you learn". His patience is extraordinary especially since it was my first time having Jason instruct me and passing. read more

I would recommend instructor John. He speaks English and he teaches in a calm way that you would understand what he is teaching. The agency is predominantly Chinese speaking people so they only have a part-time English speaking employee so I would recommend to text her after you get her number to asks when she will be in the office. I would also recommend having one lesson before the road test and one lesson the day of the road test to help you. Passed my road test today! It was super easy thanks to my awesome instructor Jerry. I chose the 14 lesson package (7 sessions) though In hindsight 10 lesson package would be suffice, especially if you have Jerry. Yes, I repeat if you want to choose an instructor, choose JERRY. He's fluent in Mandarin and English. He explains things in a concise and clear manner. He is a VERY experienced instructor and will let you drive right off the bat even if you never drove before. He knows the routes, the streets, and the best places that will allow give you the most optimal driving experience. He will teach you EVERYTHING you need to know for the road test. I especially appreciate his tricks with parallel parking. It works every time. So during my road test I wasn't nervous at all for parallel parking. He is able to discern what my weakness was too, which was turning. So during our practice sessions, he would systemically target my weakness by drilling me with constant turns. Once I nail a specific turn, I will move on to somewhere else. At the end of our session, he will review what we learn, remind me what I need to work on and tell me my goal for my next session. My experience with No.1 Driving School has been pretty good. I had Jerry as my instructor. He was super helpful in giving me feedbacks on my turns and things he thinks I need to improve on. He was super patient with me and gave me a lot of useful tips when driving. I believe he prepared me well for my road test, but practicing on my own time also helped me a lot. Just passed my road test today! Overall great experience with the registration process and the school. Very fast and efficient, although I do recommend visiting the school if you have any questions because a phone call may be hard to reach the school. As for instructors, I highly recommend JERRY WANG! Clean car, nice personality, and most importantly, prepares you well for the day of the test. I took the 5 session package (one each consecutive week, one the day of the test) and it was not a problem at all. He is fluent in Mandarin and English, so he can help with any form of clientele. Provided me with many tips on how to improve my driving skills and techniques and pointed the mistakes I made and corrected my mistakes on the spot.
