This is t first time here. I have passed this place many times and have always wanted to visit. So...here we go. They have private parking in back which was great. We started with the spinach feta pie. That was outstanding! I ordered the Greek steak and rice. It came with plenty of sauce on the side. We shared a Greek salad as well. It didn't have dressing on it so I was a little surprised. The service was fine. Did not have any issues ordering. We asked to sit outside and they brought our meal to us. I ordered the chicken kabob which is served with a salad and rice, along with sliced pita bread. Everything was delicious. The chicken was moist and full of flavor. The garlic sauce that serves as salad dressing and a dipping sauce was unexpectedly good. When I arrived I was the only customer. However, within 10'mins the restaurant was busy. Stopped in last week after church this place was packed. Now that I have stopped here I see why. The food was delicious and delivered to the table hot. The French fries were so good soft in middle, but crunch on the outside. This place was super clean including the restrooms. They do have a bigger jumbo Gyro 9oz of meat if you want the big portion. Pitas were rock hard (obviously got lunch leftovers). Called and the did offer to re-make the order if I drove 15 miles back across town in rush hour traffic. Nope. The service here was great. The staff were really nice and helpful. Our food came out pretty quickly. The restaurant itself looks like it was an old bank or something, probably not a restaurant originally. The food was great! I have been here twice now and the experience has been consistent enough to say that I probably will not return. The food is good, but the value is not what I would like to see. I got the jumbo gyro combo and calamari. I have experienced shrinkflation pretty much everywhere like everyone else whenever I spend money, but I was legitimately shocked at the calamari. There were 6 rings of calamari for $9 - good, but nowhere near worth the price point. Aside from good food, there's not really any redeeming qualities to eating here. The dining room was very dirty and there was an unpleasant smell hanging in the air. The wait is not excessive, but the service both times was poor in my opinion. Great prices on their combo meals. They have a "small" gyro, but there is nothing small about it! Also have fresh brewed ice tea and all the accessories (lemon, sweetener, etc). Staff is friendly, restaurant is clean and tidy. They also have a drive through for those on the go. read more

Walk in, and it's a pretty typical fast food setup, plus a case with apps and desserts. I got a #5 combo- mini gyro, spinach pie, and drink. Added a piece of baklava, and had a good meal for $10. The gyro was on a nice soft pita, stuffed with tender, lightly seasoned meat, and some fresh lettuce and tomatoes. Not huge, but not tiny. The spinach pie was kinda like a turnover, and was again mild, with good flaky crust and lots of spinach. The baklava was very good: moist (sometimes it can be dry,) full of honey without being overly messy. Service was good, value is good, flavors were good. I'll definitely keep this in mind. Number One Gyro Shoppe has a new Hilliard location. It's a nicer area than the original. The food is still better than average Greek fast food. It usually is pretty fast. They also have a drive thru. I had the falafel pita. It's about $6 for a sandwich. The falafel doesn't come in a combo, which stinks. Almost every other kind of sandwich does of course. They have the usual stuff like gyros. Appetizers include hummus, which tastes like it was made fresh. They have a case of baklava and other sweets. It usually won't take long to get your food. It has a drive they like the other one. Taking your food from the inside seems to be faster though. read more

I have eaten here a million times- always my favorite but today when we got our take out order home, my chicken gyro was missing the feta we added, it had very little sauce, and the chicken was very dry- so supper disappointed. So we went through the drive thru at around 6:15 at 8/25. We were the third car that was pulling in. We sat in front of the ordering screen for several minutes. We kept saying hello, but nobody would respond or tell us to wait a minute which I would understand if they were trying to catch up on the people that had already ordered. Instead, the girl that was wearing the headset at the time, proceeded to mock us because she didn't seem to understand that she didn't Turn her headset off, so we couldn't hear her. This behavior is very unprofessional, and in all honesty it's Soward, my desire to ever come back to this place. That's a shame because the food there is really really good, but I have a hard time wanting to do business at a place that insults their customers just because the customers aren't getting any response of any kind from the ordering screen. read more

I've tried the gyro and a few other items in the past. The food could be better. My biggest complaint is the meat portions. I tried the gyro sub today and was once again quite disappointed in the small portion of gyro meat included in the sub. It was mostly lettuce, onions, feta cheese. Love this place's name. Right to the point, and includes an alternate spelling of the word "shop". This is just a good, solid place to get some gyros. We've never dined in, only went through the drive through. Every time the gyros have been a good size and consistent quality. I got the calamari, perfect, breading has a little spicy kick and so does the dipping sauce. Everything was made to order, so it was hot and fresh. Kinda ripped this place when they first opened about 3 years ago, so thought I would update. Gave them another shot a while back, and have been coming back ever since. Very solid, great spinach pie, great tzaziki and great hot sauce. Much much better now, love the fact they have a drive thru as well. I always get the combo with the mini gyro and spinach pie with a side of fries. I tell them to make my fries spicy (sort of like cajun fries from 5 guys), then I get a side of tzaziki and a side of hot sauce. So good, so amazing. read more

I used to really enjoy this place! It is family owned I believe. You get a good amount of food for the price. However, quality seems to have gone down just a bit over the last few years. Seems like maybe they are just getting busier and trying to keep up. I've had soggy lettuce few times but the meat is generally good and the sauce is to die for! Try it out. read more
