    East Market
    Corri P.

The East Market is a lot of fun with many options for food. Taste of Greece had great gluten free options which I needed. The chicken kebab was well seasoned and tender. It came with rice and a Greek salad. I was not a fan of the salad dressing which mostly tasted like oil Everything else was fresh and well seasoned. The service seemed a little slow but they were very busy the day I visited. East Market is housed in an old trolley barn and is a very unique and historic building. I will definitely be back.

We finally made it to Savor Clintonville's parking lot to give Taste of Greece a go and SO glad we did! The gentleman working (owner??) is so kind! Prices are great and the food is REALLY good. My lamb gyro was fresh and flavorful. The fries come as a huge serving and have herbs and a sprinkle of cheese (parm?) on them (my new favorite fries of all time!) Husband added feta and banana peppers to his gyro and loved it, also. I brought my baklava home and it was a gorgeous treat. The food truck location is in a parking lot, but the picnic table and umbrella were clean and such a nice addition. There are potted trees and flowers too, to make it even more welcoming. For me, absolutely worth the short drive to support them. Two thumbs up!

I got the chicken gyro on pita, it is a good price for a good serving. I do wish the pita was a bit more toasted. I got a box tiramisu as well, and it was a nice dessert. The coffee taste is good but there was a lot more cream than cake/ladyfinger for my taste. all in all, a decent eat at east market!

I was in the East Market and decided to try this place. The food is made fresh to order, and I had their chicken gyros and lamb chops. The chicken gyro was juicy with amazing tzatziki sauce, and the lamb chops were perfectly cooked with flavorful rice. Loved the place and highly recommend it.

My favorite vendor at the market! The fries are my favorite of anywhere, dipped in their tzatziki sauce. The gyro is always so fresh and the warm pita with crisp veggies is perfect. The workers are so friendly and genuinely care about your food. It's the first stall if coming in from the Kelton Ave. entrance.

EXCELLENT lamb gyro AND side dishes! I'm 100% hooked and will gladly spend my money here! One of the two brothers who own/run their food stall was great to chat with while the other brother was dominating the stove. By the way, hot off the grill was no joke - my food was delicious and very flavorful because it was cooked to order. For a time, back when they opened, this stall use to serve tagine plates on the weekend (only), but that has since been removed - sad face. I was delighted that ToG's side dishes we tried were just as much stars of the show as their lamb gyros! Their Brussels side was very lightly seasoned, the sprouts were sauteed with a flavorful oil, and I've never seen sprouts sauteed with sliced green grapes! I patently hate sprout dishes that tout all kinds of toppings that brutally mask the flavor of the healthy veggie tag; this side dish is officially the best sprouts dish I've ever had. I got the side dish to share with my mother, but ended up getting a serving of my own, since I was hooked. Same high marks for their Zaalouk side, too. The flavors were incredible: not too much of anything, just plain flavorful! The accompanying pita triangles were an afterthought, as that eggplant/stewed tomatoes/garlic/cilatro getup deserved its own spotlight. On my gyro, I forgot to ask for lite sauce, but it wasn't bad at all; I could easily taste the components wrapped in the fresh, soft pita bread. The meat was so good, and plenty shavings to fill the pita, too. I easily got my money's worth of shaved protein. Since opening The East Market has been a mixed bag of food stall offerings, so I'm really glad I finally tried ToG. I'm sure I'll be back by next time I'm in the area. Shoot, I'd go out of my way for those two side dishes any day.

Tasty stuff! On a whim, my partner and I shared an afternoon bite from Taste of Greece. With the gyro meat roasting on a spit, how could we resist? We chose the open-face gyro plate and a side of fries. There was a generous portion of meat, one pita, and a salad. For the price, two pitas and a little more salad would have been nice. However, everything tasted delicious. I really liked the seasoning on the fries, too. In all, the service was quick and the environment was energetic with the bustle of the East Market. I'd definitely recommend it if you're in the area and in the mood for Greek eats.

Came to try the East market! The parking was plentiful and free! Decided to try this place and was happy we did. The workers were so nice. They answered questions about which dishes they recommended and then they asked us how we liked our food. I ordered this meat and it came with two different sides! Lots of different options on the menu. There were lots of sides to chose from. So that was fun! The food was very reasonably priced at ~$12. It was pretty filling! There was a decent wait of ~15 minutes to order and 15 minutes to be ready. I enjoyed it and was glad I tried it! They had the best little mints at checkout too

Veggie pita with grape leaves, feta, tzatziki, lettuce, tomatoes and Greek salad peppers!

Another hidden gem in Clintonville. My boyfriend introduced me tonight to the Taste of Greece food truck that sits in the Savor Growl lot at the corner of Indianola & Weber. He says it's the best gyro in the city. It did not disappoint. I ordered the Vegetable Pita as I don't eat lamb. It was $6 and included lettuce, tomatoes, grape leaves, Greek salad peppers, chunks of feta and tzatziki sauce. The feta was huge and delish. The tzatziki was very obviously homemade. Great fresh flavors in a tender, soft pita wrap. We also got two triangles of baklava for dessert. They were awesome as well. You can tell this proprietor takes pride and care in his craft. Luckily this truck is on my way home from work, so I can stop again soon to grab some quick take-out for an easy dinner. Opa!

I've been meaning to try Taste of Greece for some time now, ever since I noticed the Moroccan food menu; it's under new ownership, I assume. It took a while, because despite the posted hours, sometimes they close early, when they run out of food. Eventually, my wife and I got lucky; we went early on a Wednesday, and there was already a line 5 deep. With good reason. This is stellar food, far better than one would expect to come out of a trailer that isn't even as large as your average food truck. We ordered mostly off the Moroccan food menu - the kefta kabbabs, chicken kabbabs, Brussel sprouts, and grape leaves plate. The grilled meat was perfect, with the right char but still juicy, and accompanied by a small salad, pita bread, and three different sauces (hot sauce, yogurt sauce, pomegranate sauce). The Brussel sprouts were deep-fried, with a sprinkling of cheese and spices, and sliced grapes, which was a nice (and tasty) surprise. The different number of components - sauces, salad, herbs, spices, etc - would make the dishes here worthy of Taste of Greece's more prestigious (and expensive) neighbor down the street, the Crest Gastropub, but available here for a modest price. And as I said, from a tiny food trailer, not even big enough to be considered a food truck. If you're looking for good Middle Eastern food in Columbus, this is as good as it gets. And that is pretty f*cking good.

Enjoyed our gyro salad (comes with 2 stuffed grape leaves) and gyro salad. Conveniently located next to a store with an excellent beer selection. Next time we will order first, then get our cold beer and then pick up our order! The beer warmed as we were waiting for our food (our faulty planning). We then took everything home and enjoyed!

All utensils and plates and water are serve-yourself near the door. At lunchtime on a warm Saturday in spring they had a steady trickle of guests coming in. The person who took our order thanked us for supporting them. Food was quick and very fresh. I had 1/2 tabbouleh salad and za'atar French fries. The tabbouleh is more heavy on the greens than the grain which was a refreshing change to me. It was dressed in a bright, fresh lemony dressing. More than I could eat in one sitting. The French fries are maybe dipped in batter and fried. I'm not sure. But they are super crispy on the outside and fluffy inside - delicious. The ambiance is casual with various TV screens showing different shows and Middle Eastern music playing on the speakers. The interior is simple but warm and inviting with minimal but fun decor. While the prices are a bit higher than I would have expected, I could see myself returning for dinner.
