However, the food was delicious. We were a hungry duo, so we ordered a full chicken's worth of Fried Original and Yangyum. The Original was crispy and delicious. The Yangyum was sweet and scrumptious. It was so good that we followed it up with a half Honey Garlic chicken that was equally as good! Don't forget the fries or pickled radishes. My friend got the green onion chicken and I got to try the salad and I'll probably get that as a side salad from now on because it's that good. The honey mustard dressing it comes with is just perfect. Great soju options and I love the Chex mix they give as you wait for the food -- very reminiscent of "drinking snacks" I grew up watching the adults eat whenever they got together to drink. 4 stars because there was this really gross bug that crawled right next to our table that looked like a cross between a roach and a silver bug. Recently moved to the Dallas area and I would have to say this has been one of my favorite meals. The space itself was on the smaller side, so there may be a little wait depending on the day/time. The staff were kind and excellent. They helped us decide on what to order. We tried the Double Onion Specialty Chicken and the Classic Half & Half. The chicken itself was so crispy on the outside, yet moist on the inside. The Yangyum flavor was my favorite - highly recommend. Korean chicken has been a very big staple in the Dallas area with the rise of the Korean boom. But no one talks about the old Korea town. As such I am no stranger to Korean chicken. I have tried a great many Korean chickens and all have paled in comparison to this place and location. The saucy chicken requires a glove to be eaten with which they provide and the flavorful sauce tells a myriad or sensations that shows you exactly why they are called No 1. I have to say...out of all the KFC places this has been the top by far. Before I thought Carrollton had good fried chicken but this was just next level. The plain chicken but it was so crispy and juicy. They also provided some plastic gloves to keep our hands clean which was also very nice. We also got cheese tteokbokki which was VERY cheesy (could be a pro or con but was a super pro for us). Price is a bit steep but worth every penny in my opinion. But there's something to be said about a solid classic original fried chicken. Truly fried to perfection. Green Onion Chicken Specialty: These are white meat nugs. This was my favorite dish! It came with a huge bed of greens on top with a honey mustardy dressing. They call it the house made green onion sauce. Yo. It's good. The green onion wasn't overpowering for those concerned. There was a Yangyum (sweet and spicy), a soy glazed, and a sweet sautéed garlic (my personal favorite). Along with the chicken came cole slaw, a good addition. I also tried their kimchi fries which consisted of waffle fries covered with kimchi then smothered with cheese -- winner! I must say that it was an impressive place with and nice cozy atmosphere. I've had this place bookmarked for awhile and while we typically check out K Town in Carrolton, I wanted to try K Town Lite one night. This place is small so if you plan it right, you can get sat right away and not have to suffer through a wait like the people standing around when we left. It was a mountain of green onions tossed in dressing atop a heap of fried chicken nuggets. It was easily enough to feed two people and delicious!! My husband got the fried chicken meal with kimchi and we loved the fermented radish that came with it and had an order of curly/regular fries on the side. My favorite korean fried chicken place in old Ktown - right in the Komart / Sura plaza. Would really recommend eating in instead of doing takeout. Fresh fried chicken is always a superior experience. They open late too, so you can grub late night and enjoy some soju. I love ordering the 3 flavor platter, it'll show you how good all of their flavors are even though the sweet garlic remains my personal favorite. Can't go wrong with yangyum wings either!
