Solid spot for rotisserie chicken and sides. This has been my staples since I moved to Dallas. I ordered a family meal for 4 which costs $40 not including tax. It comes with chicken already cut, 3 deluxe sides, dessert with a choice of peach cobbler or banana pudding and choice of rolls, no rolls or chips and salsa. I got mac, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy and banana pudding. Chicken - you cant go wrong. Your white meat will definitely be on the drier side for sure. Definitely ask for their hot sauce and bbq sauce. And if you're able to add brisket for $7 addtl it's so good!! Mac and Cheese - its a solid option and my go to when I order here Green beans - this is my first time ordering this here. I do live the texture as I do not enjoy soggy green beans. It's perfectly blanched but it lacks severely in seasoning and is extremely water. Every bite felt like oz of water. Mashed potatoes - a bit dry and chalky but I can doctor that at home The family meal is a great value and def take advantage!! Service was good. I love Cowboy chicken. I've been a customer for a long time. But every now and then... Today I drive up there, place my order at the counter, and wait. (Normal wait time: 4-5minutes) After 20 minutes, i'm pulled aside... "we're out of chicken, it'll be 35 minutes". First of all, this isn"t something you discover 20 minutes after taking an order. Basic inventory management should tell you how many chickens you should have. People were coming and taking home food, though... Apparently, if you sit on the couch and phone your order in ahead of time, you get first priority on the chicken. People who devote the energy to driving up there-- you can have what's left... if any. You would think, as all these phone orders are coming in, someone would be keeping track of whether they have enough food to cover both thr phone-ahead orders and the folks who will physically show up. Why not allocate the chicken in such a way that no one has to wait twenty minutes to find out they used all the chicken before you even got there? Save some for us. A very good restaurant, but a very disappointing experience It was a zero star experience.. waiting 20 minutes to walk out with nothing... but Cowboy Chicken is usually better than this, so 3 stars read more

Paid 6.50 for "ranchero beans" that were literally a watered-down soup with a few beans floating around, lady there said "yep that's normal". Cowboy Chicken is just an unfortunate restaurant. They continuously change the menu and rarely for the better. First they got rid of the grill and vaquero sauce (chipotle bbq), the creamed spinach, etc... Their latest mistake was changing the mac n cheese recipe. I guarantee they just open up a stock can of cheese sauce and dump it on the noodles. Same thing they used to do with the old recipe but at least it had a layer of baked cheese on top to elevate it. I think my order was ready on time. I parked on the curb and sent the text to let them know I was there. Then crickets. No response. I sat and waited for them to bring out my order but nothing. For some on keto, maybe the green beans are too much, but this is so keto friendly and I highly recommend this bowl. Even if you are not on keto.
