We adopted Dolly (formerly Bonnie) 3 years ago at an adoption event. We had seen her online before going to the event, so we had a pretty good idea of who we wanted. While we enjoyed many of the other animals, we knew she was for us! The adoption process was nice and smooth, as well as the pickup from the foster home. The cost was more than fair in my opinion,all vetting was done and she was ready for her forever home. She has helped greatly in making our little family complete, and we couldnt imagine our lives without her. Would definetly adopt through NDLB again! read more

I used No Dog Left Behind to adopt my puppy Arlo. He was listed as a terrier, but turned out to be a German Shepherd and Labrador retriever mix so that was a bit of a surprise, but other than that no dog left behind, and the people who run it have been nothing but kind and courteous to me and I don't think they should be held responsible for not knowing what type of dog a puppy is without DNA testing. Anytime I've had trouble with Arlo I have been able to just text the foster family or the woman running the No Dogs Left Behind and ask for help or where to go. They truly care about the animals and they also care about placing them in a good home. I really would recommend them if you're looking to adopt an animal. read more

My fiancé and I were at a place where we wanted to start looking at dogs. We came across No Dogs Left Behind and were interested in a couple dogs from a heeler mix litter. The staff we worked with were quick, patient and friendly. When visiting Bart (formerly Kennedy) at his foster family, you could tell he loved and trusted them so much. His foster Mom actually came to his first birthday! NDLB was great from the first day we started with them. Bart was healthy, happy and such a good pup and has become a great doggy and addition go our life! They quite literally saved his life from being a stray, nursed him back to health, and allowed us to welcome him into our home forever! I am sorry to say that our experience with NDLB was not a great one. - The dog was not accurately represented by the organization. (They said he was "cat safe", but he tried to kill our cat. They said he was "low key & relaxed", but he was the most high energy dog we've ever cared for and he was aggressive during play, leaving all of us with bruises, scratches and bite marks.) - The organization is unclear about who their staff is and how to communicate with them. We had a very hard time getting ahold of people to help us and they were reluctant to give us any information or clear answers to our questions. Their responses lacked sensitivity and professionalism. We had to track them down and create a paper trail with direct questions that required clear answers to ensure that the dog was getting returned and that we would get our money back. - We believe they are not properly vetting animals, volunteers, or adoptive families. The previous foster told us she didn't even officially foster through NDLB, that she was "just helping out a friend." And we discovered that the organization didn't call either of our references before adopting the dog to us. This is a safety risk for everyone! I don't want this organization to get shut down, but considering these are some of the highest adoption fees in the area, we believe they should be better vetting animals & people, and providing some training for their key volunteers to learn how to communicate with people professionally. This was an extremely stressful experience and we for sure would not work with NDLB again. read more

We too got a puppy from this rescue. She was aggressive from the get go. I had never seen a puppy snapping at people who were trying to pet her. We took her to obedience class where they said she needed to be medicated or was going to be kicked out. We put her on meds and even hired a behavioralist to come and work with us. At one point the rescue contacted us to see how it was going. I explained her aggressiveness since we got her and that our vet said something had to have happened to her in foster care. The employee of the rescue stated that she was surprised to hear and thought that type of behavior would have been more applicable to her brother than to our dog!? Not sure what that even meant. She couldn't get off the phone quick enough. Would not recommend this place at all. read more

This business is not forthcoming with information about their dogs. Misinformed us about the age, weight, and temperament of the dog we adopted. They are extremely rude through their email responses. The dog we adopted went through major trauma as a puppy. We are kind, loving people that are willing to provide the attention needed to this type of dog, but as he gets older, he is becoming overly aggressive. He has attacked our other dog multiple times and bit my partner repeatedly. A veterinarian has told us that a puppy that receives the type of trauma he went through, will become more and more aggressive as he reaches sexual maturity. She is recommending him to be put down due to her vast experience in this situation. No Dogs Left Behind wants us to ship him back to them, most likely so they can collect another $600 from someone else. We just don't want this dog to hurt anyone else. It's not his fault he received this trauma, but the professionals keep telling us there is nothing we can do. There are many great dogs out there and we would love to help them all, but sometimes we have to look at the bigger picture. Nobody wants their other pets or themselves to be in danger because a business wants to hide the fact that they just want to collect a check. read more

Chariss the vetting coordinator is extremely rude. They adopted us a sick puppy with a $750 adoption fee then refused to reimburse us anything for his medical care. This rescue should have provided our puppy with proper medical care, who knows how long he was sick without any treatment before we adopted him. It was negligent. There are many better rescues in the area. read more

We adopted a dog from this rescue that was labeled as good in a home with kids, dogs and cats. While the dog was sweet to my teenage son, husband and myself, she growled at my six year old daughter for three days until we returned her back to the rescue. The dog also lunged and bit the head of my cat, unprovoked. The foster mom said the dog had never been around any children other than a ten year old boy outside who ignored the dog. I returned the dog and left two messages for the owner to call me back so that they could find the right adopters and keep future children safe until the dog can be further evaluated. The owner called me back and the word rude is an understatement and she literally screamed at me that I don't know the definition of the word aggressive and how dare i even speak that word. I asked her to stop yelling at me and said I am a kind adopter who wants to keep other kids safe and have the dog not be advertised at good in a home with kids and cats when she isn't. The owner said you haven't even heard me screaming yet!!! I was shaking because I could not believe that someone wants to scream at an adopter for letting them know that a dog needs further evaluation for safety reasons before being let into another home with kids. They immediately put the dog back on their website as "good in a home with children, cats and dogs." This is based on absolutely nothing and they do not want to hear any feedback from adopters. This poor dog will now bounce from home to home to home all while becoming more anxious and fearful and hence a bigger bite risk. I don't know when the well-being of a dog became higher priority than that of a child's safety. I am a huge dog lover but these people are insane. read more

We unsuccessfully tried to adopt a dog from this rescue. I understand that they are trying to match sighs with good homes, but it's seems quite strict when we had to fix the space in one gate. There was no 'once you fix that, you're good to go' it was all or nothing, no second chances. Besides that, they're phone numbers never work, and they are very bad at returning emails. I had to track down a different phone number/email than the ones on the website to contact anyone. All in all, bad experience. read more

We adopted a dog from them. All was good until after we got the dog. She is a puppy and on our first vet check it was discovered that she had an issue with her baby teeth. We contacted NDLB by email detailing the issue and requesting the $200 allowance that they said they provided for things that were found immediately after adoption. After 2 months of back and forth with them claiming they didn't get the original email and then claiming they sent me a reply I got the answer that if one of their vets had looked at her they would have helped us. They had a month between when I emailed them and the dental appointment to reply. They did nothing. I have called repeatedly and email still receiving no reply to other questions. Our vet dental bill was $1500 for Destiny. Now we are concerned that we will not receive the $100 deposit back when we spay her. This agency may look good on the site, but know that after you adopt you are on your own! Would not use this agency again! read more

It's been almost two weeks and I still have heard nothing.
